1  Economy / Service Discussion / BTC-e being hacked. Watch your account. on: February 01, 2014, 01:06:29 AM
I just got hacked. It's all gone.

I hear my gmail notification chime on my phone. I check my phone, I have an email that shows I just logged into btc-e... no I fucking didn't, Wasn't even near my computer.

I log into btc-e and check the trade history. It shows I just bought coin with all the money (I was full fiat) in the account and then immediately transfered it to this account.....

It shows I bought on Feb 1st... it's still the 31st where I am.

I emailed BTC-e already... What else can I do?

2  Economy / Speculation / China Halts Bank Transfers - w/ Link on: January 30, 2014, 07:54:03 AM
I originally read this article on Forbes from my phone but could not post it using my phone. When I got home many hours later to post the article it had been removed from Forbes. I thought that was interesting but tried not to read into it too much.

http://beforeitsnews.com/economics-and-politics/2014/01/china-halts-bank-cash-transfers-forbes-2461052.html

(Before It's News)

According to this breaking story from Forbes.com, China has halted all bank cash transfers as shared in the story below. WHY would China’s central bank ORDER commercial banks to put an end to cash transfers? Is this the next step in the global currency war? Could this lead to WW3 as is now being argued by some? With America already practically ‘owned’ by China and getting more in debt every year, this can’t be a good thing. Video reports on China’s money problems also below.

The People’s Bank of China , the central bank, has just ordered commercial banks to halt cash transfers.

In short, there will be a three-day suspension of domestic renminbi transfers. There will also be a suspension, spanning nine calendar days, of conversions of renminbi to foreign currency.

The specific reason given—“system maintenance” at the central bank—is preposterous.  It is not credible that during the highest usage period in the year—the weeklong Lunar New Year holiday beginning January 31—the central bank would schedule an upgrade and shut down cash transfers.

A better explanation is that the country’s banking system is running dry.  Yes, there is an increased need for money in the run-up to and during the Lunar New Year holiday, but that is only a small factor.  After all, central bank officials knew this spike in demand was coming—it occurs every year at this time—and a core function of central banks is to manage seasonal liquidity fluctuations.  Moreover, the holiday has not started yet, and the PBOC, as that institution is known, could have added more liquidity to meet cash needs.

5  Economy / Speculation / Volume Explained... on: December 24, 2013, 11:15:55 PM
Just looking for some clarity on this.

Volume:

Investopedia explains 'Volume Of Trade'

Volume tells investors about the market's liquidity. Higher volume means higher liquidity and better order execution. When investors feel hesitant about the direction of the stock market, futures trading volume tends to increase. Volume also tends to be higher near the market's opening and closing times, and on Mondays and Fridays. It tends to be lower at lunchtime and before a holiday.

When investors feel hesitant about the direction of the stock market, futures trading volume tends to increase.
 - This is what I'm confused about... right now the overall feeling is unknown/hesitation about the direction but we are not showing increased volume, volume shows a decreased/low amount.

 - Investopedia states that the volume tends to increase, what does it mean for the market/trend when the volume is low in this unknown direction?

I'm trying to understand how for days we've had low/decreased volume yet the price has remained stable and/or increased slightly.

7  Economy / Speculation / Is this Good Stategy? on: December 16, 2013, 08:46:42 PM

New to trading and would like advice and/or opinions from some of your Veterans.

When btc was $500 I started my account, by the time the account, my info and bank info was verified it jumped to $950.
So I got in a 950.

With that in mind...
Now it's ~700, with the news out of China I feel it will cause a panic sell like the last round of news from them. Looks like it's kind of already began. So I see it going to $400-$450 especially this wk because of Christams next wk and ppl not buying and/or selling for extra holliday cash.

For this question let's use 450 as the next low.
Would it be good or bad strategy to sell half or all now to buy at the lower price? It would net more coin for holding long-term but how does buying at 950 and selling at 700 and buying again at 450 figure in?
*Is gaining more coin the only factor that should be looked at?

I'm not bear or bull but I'd def like to hear what each has to say. Please, let's have a good conversation and no fighting about other ideas.

Thanks.

9  Economy / Trading Discussion / Buy/Sell Options on: December 09, 2013, 07:54:30 AM
If there is already a thread for this please post the link.

I use coinbase, they have no option to buy and sell while you're away.
What options are there to do this?
10  Other / Beginners & Help / Mining Contracts on: December 08, 2013, 12:00:31 AM

**I know there is a page for Mining but I am a noob and can't ask questions there, I also have not found a review for Mining Contracts.

I am interested in Mining Contracts. I have a couple in mind but before I make a decision I need to do my due dilegence....

I would greatly appreciate all thoughts, opinions and experiences with Mining Contracts.

 - Greatest earnings?

 - Is Progressive Reinvestment the way to go?

 - Better to purchase an expensive contract (20/GH) that starts mining immediately or a 25/GH contract for a steal compared to the expensive one but you have to wait until March for mining to start?

Any and all input is appreciated!

Thanks,

 - OOS

Are there Legit Gaming sites (Blackjack or Spades) to win BTC?
Don't know which site(s) to trust.

Looking for confirmation of legitimacy, I don't want any trojans or viruses.
