security is become more and more important.

I've heard a lot about virus that can steal you wallet.dat or your private key...or worst, a keylogger that can steal your password or seed.

despite this i don't see news or thread about these malware or about people who had lost their btc.

It's just me that i don't know how to search, or these kind of malware are not widespread yet?

Do you have had some bad experience with those? or do you know somone who had have?

ho appena preso una cpu AMD A8 6600k, che ha integrata al suo interno una gpu sempre ati.

Domani monterò sul pc anche la mia hd 7950 3gb. Ora, so che l'integrata è molto scarsa, il mio dubbio però è semplicemente come usare cgmier: devo far partire due istanze? come faccio a passargli per esempio due pool diverse per le 2 gpu? e settaggi diversi?

ho un problema ad usare multiminers: in pratica, ogni volta mi dice di ricontrollare i settaggi della pool che ho configurato perchè sono sbagliati.

Dato che secondo me sono inseriti correttamente, sbaglio qualcosa. Faccio un esempio con gli usde:

allora il mio problema è questo: in pratica, su cgminer, quando si mina in pool, per ogni blocco indica quale è il valore del tuo share. Ovvero compare qualcosa come: 500/128, poi 1.29k/128 etc etc, dove 128 è il valore, più o meno fisso della diff della pool.
Quando mino in solo, invece, questo non appare! Ho solo il detected new block on network. Come posso rimediare, per vedere se vado abbastanza vicino alla diff della moneta?

Just like the thread name, i don't understand why one day i have 480kh/s, the next day 330kh/s, the day after 400kh/s and so on. I always mine on the same pool, same money and my pc is always the same.

Does anyone have some explanation?

i just bought an ATI msi 7950 3gb OC edition, but i'm very disappointed about its hashrate. I red that whit that card i can reach 600 or even more kh/s, but i barely reach 400kh/s, and, most important, i still don't know why!!

My frequency:
gpu clock @880mhz
memory clock @1250mhz
temp @70°

I tried whit:
-different version of cgminer (3.6.2, 3.7.0, 3.7.2), without changes
-different version of catalyst (13.1, 13.9, 13.12), without changes.
-different setting. I tried more or less every setting suggest in https://litecoin.info/Mining_hardware_comparison.
 I noticed that:
 -i can't set intensity greater than 13. With 13 i haven't any hw error, with 14 or more, i have too much hw error.
 -i can't set thread concurrency greater than 8192. If i use greater value i have this error--->
maximum buffer memory device 0 supports says 536870912
your script setting come to 939524096
error -61 etc
failed to init GPU thread 0 disagling device 0

now i'm using this settings --gpu-threads 2 --thread-concurrency 8192 -I 13
                                       setx gpu_use_sync_objects 1
                                       setx gpu_max_alloc_percent 100

Credo di avere un problema con la mia scheda grafica. Ho appena comprato una hd7950 msi, 3gb, OC edition. Pensavo che avrei svoltato...e invece:
NON regge niente! Già con I pari a 12 mi da HW error (pochi..) ma con appena 180kh/s. Se metto I = 20, come consigliato, arriva a 600kh/s, ma va tutto in errore e si impalla addirittura il pc!!
Se non metto nessun parametro, cgminer non parte, diventa tutto nero.

Ho provato pressochè tutti i settaggi consigliati su https://litecoin.info/Mining_hardware_comparison, ma o va tutto in errore hw, o non parte, o cgmier stesso da errore sulla gpu!!

Come è possibile?

P.S: I driver sono gli ultimi...istallati dove aver rimosso accuratamente quelli della vecchia hd4870.

Sto minando completamente a vuoto e la cosa mi sta facendo esplodere.

Torno a casa e dopo 14 ore di mining consecutivo di dogecoin, 0 cazzo di monete. ZERO.

Cerco di descrivere la situazione perchè è molto frustrante:
Sul wallet del client di dogecoin ho, come già detto, saldo 0, non confermato 0.
Sembra sia connesso bene, con la "v" verde in bella vista che mi aggiorna che l'ultimo blocco scaricato è di 1 minuto fa o anche meno. Inoltre ho 6 connessioni attive.
Accanto però mi dice not dig dogecoin, ma penso sia normale quando mino in pool, a quanto ho capito.

Su cgminer, invece, oltre alla velocità media di 100kh/s che è poco, lo so, ma 14 ore e 0 monete non torna, mi scrive:
"Stratum from pool 0 detected new block"
"pool 0 difficulty changed to 2xx.xx"
"Stratum from pool 0 requested work restart"
"pool 0 difficulty changed to 2xx.xx"

etc etc, aggiornadosi spesso.

Vi torna?? Cos'altro devo guardare? c'è un best share 2.22M. Che cosa significa?

mi sto informando da poco sul mondo delle cripto-valute, ma trovo molte difficoltà a capire anche le cose basi: non riesco a trovare una guida che spieghi tutto passo passo e quindi mi ritrovo confuso.

Il mio primo dubbio è quello relativo alla scelta della moneta. La premessa doverosa è che il mio hw è adesso inadeguato (una ati hd4870 con in teoria circa 100/115 kh/s): se riesco a far funzionare qualche client mi comprerò una nuova GPU, pensavo ad una ati270x. Anche qua so che si può fare poco, ma mi bastano anche 1 o 2 btc l'anno.
Ero orientato verso worldcoin, ma tramite coinwarz vedo che con una 270x ci vogliono circa 104 giorni per minare 1btc. Considerando che il calcolo temo sia fatto per un pc acceso 24/7 sempre, e il mio non sarà così, ci vorrà ancora più tempo. Molto probabilmente, facendo una stima, arrivo a circa 1 anno per un bitcoin. E' il minimo di cui potrei accontentarmi...quindi, sempre su coinwarz ho visto monete più profittevoli: con DIAMOND, in particolare c'è una enorme differenza.
Immagino che però sia più rischiosa, magari è più difficile scambiarla oppure è più probabile che fallisca....voi che consigliate a riguardo?

Secondo dubbio:
Da quanto ho capito, la difficoltà con cui ogni moneta si può minare varia nel tempo, e generalmente aumenta. Quindi le stime di sopra andrebbero anche abbassate un po', no?
Quello che non mi è chiaro è, dato che a quanto leggo le monete vengono generate con molta randomicità, è sicuro se la difficoltà non cambia che i calcoli di prima sono rispettati? ovvero, lo estraggo 1btc in 104 gg, circa? oppure magari in 150 non ricavo niente?
Sembre a riguardo, cosa sono questi blocchi e questi parametri per le monete
