3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Aurora for the US on: March 07, 2014, 12:53:17 AM
Okay so the model works. Here is the question, would it work in the US?

- Easy to verify identity using SSN / ID verification service (like the one Coinbase uses)
- Scheduled Airdrop like Aurora
- Similar specs, etc.

I'm a marketing/website guy. Any experienced devs want to hash this out with me?
4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / List of Nation-Based Cryptocurrencies on: March 06, 2014, 08:35:17 PM
Since these are particularly hot right now, let's create a list of known nation/people-group inspired currencies.

Nation-specific:
Auroracoin
Mazacoin

Tribute:
Pesetacoin
Ekrona

Does anyone know of any others? There are likely going to be a flood of them coming soon and it'd be good to try to parse out which ones are legit and which are pretenders.
5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Seeking Technical Setup Help on: January 25, 2014, 08:13:53 AM
Okay so I hit my first roadbump (many more expected) tonight when my GPUs did not fit into the PCI slots of my computer.

Here is what I have so far:

2x GeForce GTX 560Ti
Dell Dimension 4600 Computer

What do I need to get both cards up a running? I'm guessing a new mobo?
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Newb Alt Mining Question on: January 17, 2014, 02:06:39 AM
I'm finally setting up a mining rig tomorrow and I'm totally new to the whole thing so could use some help.

First of all, I have no clue when it comes to cgminer, I tried to set it up on my computer and had no success. Can anyone point me to a simple tutorial? Also, where is the official download link?

Secondly, how do you evaluate difficulty of mining a coin? I'd like to begin mining one of the following coins - Digibyte, eToken, Klondike, USDe, Noble but I'm not great at math so it's hard to figure out which will be easier to mine. Any guidance around current difficulty and blocks per etc would be much appreciated!

Thanks in advance!
