2  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Need tech advice for a new crypto exchange website on: April 23, 2014, 07:30:21 PM
Hi all,

Need your advices here!

We are tired to see exchange websites that try to work with cryptocurrencies and get hacked.

I'm working on the following idea, and want your oppinion.

It is an exchange site. Lets say: BTC/LTC/ETC... (No fiat / no real money, only between cryptos).

But instead of taking all data from the user (name, password, etc...), He just fills out a form:

- Email (just to receive the details)
- source crypto: LTC + his LTC address
- wants to Buy: BTC + BTC address where He wants to receive

The conversion rate is applied and if He agree, He press CONFIRM

His transaction will be posted in a public wall with timestamp and a ticket number.

After this, He will be emailed with the address he should make the deposit and The ammount of coins He agreed to be transfered.

And here is the issue:

A remote software will be reading this "public wall" looking for that transaction on the coin's blockchain.

As soon as it reaches the necessary number of confirmations, this software makes the transfer.

Hackers can attack server, but nothing can be done as the software that controls the wallets can be running on any place of The world ...

Sorry about my english and I'm writting from my phone.

I'm C/C++/C# programmer.

Thanks for your help!

3  Bitcoin / Pools / Strange: all pools always have an address "mining" more than 50%... on: January 13, 2014, 11:01:17 AM
Hi, after jumping from pool to pool (in order to understand how it works as Well if worth it or not), I've realized that every pool always have some address that appear to be mining 50% (some times 99%) more than everybody.

Example: while the average "velocity" is 100/500 Kh/s, there is always 1 address playing with 16 Mh/s! (Fake numbers, as i'm talking about all coins).

If you ask The pool manager about that, The answer is The same: there's someone mining to this address...

We have been watching many types of scam...

Is there a way to "audit" a pool? Or a list of The trusted ones?

It happens with many other coins as well...

Am I too much afraid?
4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / I have 93 computers (i7 4gb RAM, no GPU) to start mining... Please help... on: December 16, 2013, 06:32:11 PM
Hi,

I work in a Call Center as the TI admin.

These machines stay turned on from 23h to 8am just with screen saver. So I´d like to let them mining during this time.

As the computers r not very good to fight against ASICs miners to get Bitcoins, I have some questions:

 1) I think that should be better work with script coins. Am i right?

 2) If so, what coin (in your opinion) I should start mining?

 3) And what is the best software do mining the coin you suggested? (cpuminer, bfgminer, cgminer, etc...)

 4) I am working in a linux to be the pool server (P2Pool). Do you suggest another? (Windows / Linux)

I´m not english speaker, so I have some dificulties to understand ALL the details about cryptocurrency, but I am studying and count on you to help!

Thanks in advance!

Best regards!

Caio
