1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / captminer's mining lounge on: May 19, 2017, 07:03:12 PM
Hi guys,

I'm sure some of you guys knows who i am, well i'm just a normal guy like everyone else. Been into the mining for couple of years as a hobby & it has started to expand from a 1 man show building my own farm/DC to group buys & now a small home business.

Was just a noob/newbie just like everyone else but we all learn along the way right ? gotta say much thx to the local & int'l community that helped & supported me in many ways.

I do enjoy building rigs & coming out with new ideas from time to time, sometimes they are really crazy & don't work at all LMAO ! never try never know Cheesy

OK less talk, here are some pics to share with everyone & I will be posting them when i have the time. I've been posting & sharing some pix in other members thread & sometimes I feel like i'm spamming their thread, hence this thread.

Do feel free to share your ideas & pics too.

This is probably the last batch of RX 470 4GB's that I have just received recently.

*From earlier batches of deliver to me* Boxes on the Left are Sapphire RX 470 4GB's. more GigaByte's. There are more from earlier builds . . . from Sapphire Nitro+/470D & PWC's

Some of the GB's (GigaByte) in action  Grin at 1 of my newly built farm/DC

Mess, getting messy & really really busy recently

Finally, sample mobo arrived, yet to be tested

GPU's all over the place, unboxed, risers & custom PCIE Cables plugged in ready for rig builds

Parts - MOBO's . . . although the MSI Gaming 5's are EOL now, I still managed to get some of them. Really like them as they are very easy to config 7 GPU very little to no headaches. Best bang for buck would be the BioStar TB 85's.

PICO ATX Adapters/PSU modded by me. Custom PCIE cables/Ram/CPU (G1840)/HP Server 1200W Platinum PSU's.

Dual PSU setup & some custom 2in1 C13 Power Cords * old & new version of BB's & different ways of setting up the dual PSU, PIC on the Left are the new version of breakout Boards*

Nice courtesy of local official distributors sponsoring me the RX 5XX series to test out before RTM.

Lots of screws & Standoffs needed for rig build & GPUs

Some of my builds

I call it the prep table

p/s: I have been receiving some PM's recently. Will reply when i'm able to do so. *DISCLAIMER* This thread is meant for sharing & this is NOT a Buy/Sell thread or in any form of advertisement. Sorry for the different sizing of pix . . .

2  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Next gen Antminer opinions/guesses on: December 24, 2015, 04:03:12 PM
My guess is that BMT is already mining on new HW which is not released to the public yet but could be already in production or in "testing" phase.

What would be your prediction of the specs of the next gen on antminers ?

-Such as it's size/weight/build/power consumption/hashrate/ etc

- me thinks it's going to be in the 10 th/s range, 2000 'ish W, slightly bigger than the current S7, more chips per hashboard.

When will it be launched ?

- My guess end of 1st quarter of 2016

Of course the pricing  would be ?

- Ain't gonna be cheap or barely make ROI unless, super CHEAP power or FREE power, 0 or LOW setup cost, prolly near to or at least 5 BTC/miner

Pre-Orders ?

- Yes I think so there's gonna be a month's wait

I hope it will use less PCIE cables, more reliable, I highly doubt that it can get away with noise & heat.

Let's hear it.
3  Bitcoin / Armory / Suddenly too much BTC in my armory ? Weird issues. on: October 25, 2015, 12:55:09 PM
I did some cleaning up by sending some BTC to other add's & some to myself for easier management & it all worked flawlessly.

Last thing I did was to sent some BTC to my own add & sent some BTC to purchase some goods but looks like the transaction did not go thru in blockchain & it says unconfirmed & also it says this "A conflicting transaction has been detected in our memory pool. The transaction hash displayed below may change."

then i restarted armory & QT but armory did not want to shutdown normally then i went to task manager & end the process. no changes.

rebooted my pc & this showed up in my armory:

i restarted my pc again, loaded up armory then QT, went to Wallet -> Fix Damaged Wallet -> Full Recovery & selected the wallet that has the issue. Took about 20 mins or so & now it seems to be fixed as of typing.

The small amount BTC that I sent to myself came thru but the BTC sent did not go thru & i just checked blockchain it says :

"Warning! this transaction is a double spend. You should be extremely careful when trusting any transactions to/from this sender."

All the BTC is in my wallet. Guess I have to resend the BTC for the purchase i wanted to make.

p/s: i "wish" the amount shown in my wallet is REAL ! LoL

hope someone can pinpoint the problem & my apologies if the explanoation wasn't really clear.

Here are some details: http://captminerp2pool.ddns.net:9332/

Pool: stratum+tcp://captminerp2pool.ddns.net:9332         Worker: Your BTC Address For Payment         Password: Anything

The pool is optimized with real time priority processing running on a 6 core 12 thread CPU @ 4ghz with 16gb of ram @ 2400mhz on 2x2tb WD RED RAID1 array + SSD.

Stats are auto updated every second with live BTC price update. Will try to add more features soon. Suggestion are welcomed. IRC webchat added.

As usual, PLEASE set backup pool(s) in the event of any failures or downtime.

Notes on p2pool share difficulty & miner/worker difficulty settings customization:

*add "/" at the end of your btc address if you would like to mine at the p2pool minimum share difficulty or any share difficultly that you wish or don't leave it blank for auto share difficulty determined by p2pool.*

eg: Worker: 1HCVopBgiXk2Esfc5LQNTWAqu5FxK87k3M/1 for p2pool minimum share difficulty

*you can also set your own worker difficulty by adding a "+" sign at the end of your btc address*

eg: Worker: 1HCVopBgiXk2Esfc5LQNTWAqu5FxK87k3M+1024 for worker difficulty

or both combined:  Worker: 1HCVopBgiXk2Esfc5LQNTWAqu5FxK87k3M/1+1024 meaning you are mining at p2pool minimum share difficulty & 1024 difficulty for you worker/miner

or leave it blank for defaults:  Worker: 1HCVopBgiXk2Esfc5LQNTWAqu5FxK87k3M

8  Bitcoin / Armory / Transaction not accepted on: May 17, 2015, 10:35:18 PM
Hi guys,

need some help here. I cannot send bitcoin out from my armory wallet anymore & it says this :

I have tried couple of times, with sending from different wallet to different addresses & i get the same result. But the weird part is that it was working fine 1 transaction earlier.

Clicked on the blockchain link, & blockchain says no transaction found.

My armory is configured in offline mode (on air gapped lappy) & watch only on my connected pc. Signing process is ok as usual no issues at all.

I have also rebooted armory, it boots up normal & it did automatically rebuild the database but it took only 3-5 minutes & loads up fine.

I just sent a bugreport to armory from armory wallet.

any help is appreciated.

9  Bitcoin / Pools / captminer.com pool shutting down soon on: December 22, 2014, 03:56:45 AM
Dear all,

It has came to a tough decision for me to shut down this pool temporarily due to poor response & at the moment i do not have enough time to manage the pool due to several personal reasons.

I am truly sorry for not being able to deliver the 1st block & dedicated time to run the pool for time being.

Also sadly, no one has hit any blocks at the pool till now.

Please do set your miners to other pools in 24 hours from now as I've also moved my own miners to other pools for time being.

But the pool will STILL be RUNNING as per requested by some fellow miners. THANK YOU SO MUCH for your continued support ! So i WILL keep the pool running for another 3 weeks.

I'd like to thank those who have cam & supported the pool. Email will be sent to notify registered users.

My apologies for any inconvenience caused.

12  Bitcoin / Mining support / Reset Dragon 1.5th SSH password ? on: October 13, 2014, 03:44:09 AM
Hi guys,

does anyone knows how to reset the SSH password & username for dragon 1.5th miner ?

or even use some other interface or mining software instead of using their software to mine like minepeon. wondering is it possible ?

seems like lketc is not releasing it & saying that they have their reasons & won't be giving it out even if you decide not to buy from them.

want to have api access to the miner & updating the cgminer version to newer version as it is using version 3.9.0.

hope to hear some good news from the community.

thx.

15  Bitcoin / Mining support / "Error -42: Loading Binary into cl_program clCreateProgramWithBinary" ??? on: March 15, 2014, 10:28:39 AM
hi,

this is a specific question for kalroth & stilt . . . or others that could help out

my card was working fine since day 1 & then suddenly bsod with atikmap.
finally i found out which card it was on my 5 card rig.
i re-installed drivers, same problem.
reflashed modified bios from stilt also same problem.
so i unplugged all cards to isolate & found the card with the problem.
hwinfo reads everything, seems to be normal same goes to msi AB & gpuz.
but there are some very fine lines appearing & dissappearing on my monitor when i move the mouse
i tried to overclock with msi AB yes it works but fails to hash.
cgminer launches as usual but then i get this msg "Error -42: Loading Binary into cl_program clCreateProgramWithBinary" showing 0.00/0.00 kh/s
the other 4 cards are ok and works normal. i will unplug this card for time being until i get some answers.

many thx in advance.
16  Other / Beginners & Help / new to mining. dual psu tips please on: December 29, 2013, 07:06:57 AM
hello everyone.
as per title a newbie here.

bought myself some gfx cards, mobo, cpu, ram, psu and so on. mining ltc atm.

would appreciate if someone could point me to the direction on how to hook up dual psu's to power my gfx card without burning the psu or mobo.

tried to google around but could not find a good answer to it.

I'm sure there are lots of pros here have done it successfully without mesaing anything up.

I have 7 x r9 290, 2 x corsair axi 1200w + cooler master 850w psu & 2 mobo. I think the psu's have enough to power the cards but not too sure how to connect them.

answers, tips, advises & a pictorial guide will be greatly appreciated .

thx in advance
