Hi there BTC-talk peepz!

Since I'm forced to do my first post in here, I figured I might aswell just introduce myself. I live in the Netherlands, and I've been involved in mining for a couple of months now. It started with my two own gaming PC's, which contain a HD7870 XT Boost, and the other one a normal HD7870 Ghz edit. I started mining Frankocoins right from the start. I don't know why, I just felt that was a nice coin Smiley.

Whilst mining Franko's, I started reading more about it and became more interested in some more serious mining. My cards would only do like 400'isch Kh/s, so I decided to invest in a little mining system with two 280X's in them. And thats where trouble started Tongue

First I had two Gigabyte 280X's. I kinda liked them since they did over 700 Kh/s without too much effort. But unfortunately, one of the cards was not working 100%, so I wanted to change them for different cards at the shop where I purchased them. Long story short: ultimately they failed SO hard that I was forced to demand my money back and do my purchase elsewhere. But these cards were so hard to come by, I had to travel like 2,5 hours to get to a shop where they had two in stock: the Sapphire Vapor-X's. Yes I know, they could also send them but I wanted to start mining ffs Tongue I had already wasted almost a week with the Gigabyte cards.

Unfortunately, I discovered that there were two problems with the Vapor-X. one was that there was some kind of built-in security, where the GPU would start to throttle once GPU core temps reached 72-75 degrees Celsius. I tried to solve this problem by flashing a different BIOS to it, but then I encountered the 2nd problem: This card did not accept ANY other BIOS other than the default 015.041.xxx.xxxx BIOS. I did some trial&error and a lot of research with a fellow miner, and came to the conclusion that it really were these two problems that proved these cards not really worth it for mining. You can read the topic about it here: https://litecointalk.org/index.php?topic=10313.0.

So, after a long argument with myself Tongue I decided to bring these back to the store as well, and look for shops where they had some in supply. Eventually I found a shop where they had some MSI 280X's. In the meantime I already discovered that the ASUS seemed to be the king, but there were nowhere in stock. So I went for the MSI's. As of a couple of weeks, they run pretty stable at 710 Kh/s. Still not really what I expected but I rest my case.

So, after mining some hype coins like LottoCoin, Dogecoin, and some more serious coins like Litecoin and Earthcoin, I stepped into RonPaulCoins. And I'll stick there for a while.

Thanks for reading!
