1  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Quantum resistance on: October 01, 2020, 08:14:41 AM
The company Dwave is now shipping $15M quantum computers with 5000Qbits of processing power. For comparison, the rest of the vendors are at ~50qbits. I know that $15M is quite a lot of money, but in 2 year that figure will be half. As you probably know, quantum calculations can be multiple times faster than any computer we have today. What are the plans for Bitcoin to continue to exist?
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Why I think all crypto is scam on: November 18, 2019, 05:40:31 PM
First there is an announcement, then there is 3 year Roadmap,
extended each year with meaningless additions, fake recruiting of
employees, trade interrupts, software announcements, wallet updates, changes
quizes, games, givaways, airdrops, forks, ICOs etc, etc, etc.

I've seen several coins with great tech which is perfectly quick and secure, anonymous (or not) and safe.
They all have mobile wallets and wallets for every OS.
Despite this fact they cannot be adopted. Nobody wants to use them, there is no real need for them.
A team of good programmers could develop a blockchain which can replace banks and paper money
in a month. Another month for testing and another month for setting up nodes across the globe.
The main point behind all this is: who controlls these programmers?

Voilla. it is that easy. That is why I think all these announcements and Roadmaps are bullshit.
3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Network Minable Coins List on: July 28, 2019, 06:14:04 PM
The purpouse of this thread is to add all coins which can be mined
by providing your computer's internet access to network.

The first one I can add is NKN coin - miner can be installed
on almost any device - from an old Android phone to a VPS.

You get reward for relaying messages for their CDS network.

What other similar coins you know of?
4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Web mining via browser on: August 12, 2018, 06:43:00 AM
I wanted to be able to mine on any PC while I'm using it (from work, etc).
However they all required a software to be downloaded, which is not possible.
(Anti-virus, company regulations, etc.)

So i found two websites where you can mine via web browser and CPU:

JSEcoin - web mining on a mission to replace web banners with mining.

CoinImp - Mine monero via any browser or let your website visitors mine.

Both are CPU only and allow website integration. Meaning - you can replace web banners with mining.
Visitors will be asked if they wish to contribute to the website.

If you know other web minable, please post!

5  Economy / Economics / Why exchanges do not pay interest? on: July 16, 2018, 01:18:17 AM
Today I wanted to check my ETH amount in an exchange.
However, due to laziness to enter all the passwords and 2FA etc,
I decided to just check my exchange ETH address via ETH explorer.

I copied it and pasted in in an explorer and what I saw amazed me:

Balance:   0.00013284416 Ether

There should be atleast 2 ETH!
I checked the transactions below and saw that RIGHT after an incomming transaction happens,
another outgoing transaction empties my exchange wallet!

I logged in right away to the exchange and the coins were there!

Does anyone know, how come exchanges use our money for their own things
but they don't pay us interest? Or is there an exchange, which pays interest?
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / GPU gave incorrect result regardless of the OC on: April 07, 2018, 07:08:09 AM
90% of the times my GPU 4 (5) submits shares, the calculated result is incorrect.
It's 1060 6GB Gigabyte Aorus.

I tried with no difference:

1. GPU/mem running with lower clock, higher clock, no clock
different power limits, overvolt, undervolt.
2. Running directly with no riser.
3. Running it on a seperate PC.
4. Replacing the thermal grease.
5. running on Claymore

Any advice please! I'm out of options!
