1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / XFX Black Edition R9 280x (4 cards on 1 motherboard) Having some issues. on: February 08, 2014, 07:51:31 AM
Hey everyone! I recently built my first scrypt mining rig, and I'm having trouble getting the thing to kick out anywhere near the numbers some of you are getting with your r9 280x's.

I've heard some bad things about XFX cards on other forums, but I'd like some advice from you guys. I have 4 of these cards (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150690)

I've tried multiple different settings on cgminer, but nothing seems to work.  Any advice here would be awesome.

I had my machine running 2 of the cards at ~700kh/s each, while I was waiting for my risers to ship. Hopefully my risers aren't messed up or something.

Anyways, this thing has given me so many problems, but I really want to see it running at full speed.

Thanks in advance.
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Need help setting up scrypt miner. (4x r9 280x) on: January 13, 2014, 10:14:09 PM
Hello everyone, I've been hanging around on this forum for a while and I've decided it's finally time to get serious about mining.

I want to build a rig with 4 of these GPUs (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814161441).

Above GPU sold out while I was setting up this list..... Deciding to go with this one instead (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150678)

With the correct risers, I'm thinking this motherboard will work. (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131872)

For risers I need 2 16x to 16x powered risers (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00HGQ0MYU/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A1AQJTRN2131MJ) and 2 1x to 16x powered risers (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B008BZBGPO/ref=ox_sc_act_title_2?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A1PCZHK9PR9IK5)

Power supply is gonna be 2 800 watt (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817182264)

Editing all this, thanks for all the help guys.

Also, still trying to figure out how much RAM I need for 4 3gb cards.

Any tips or advice to help me out here would be greatly appreaciated.
