1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Difficulty Switching command line for cgminer or sgminer on: February 16, 2014, 10:56:15 AM
I'm sure we're all familiar with the idea of profit switching pools, or switching it yourself

But I've been thinking that the most profitable coin isn't also the most profitable by the time you've sold it.

I would like to be able to set up my miner and pick say 4 coins/pools and then same

If coin A diff is less then 20 mine
If coin B diff is less then 1200 mine
If coin C diff is less then 2 mine
If coin D diff is less then 10 mine

If more then 1 coin is lower mine in following order A,B,C,D

If all coin are above mine in the following order A,B,C,D

Any good programmers out there bored and want to have a play?
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / 1 PSU VS 2 PSU on: February 04, 2014, 07:58:12 PM
I've got 2 mining rigs now

1st 1 has 4 x 7950 gigabyte GPU using a single 1200w PSU

The 2nd has 3 x R9 290 sapphire GPU with 1x 850w PSU & 1x 500w PSU

There both happily working away after having a bit a trouble getting the dual PSU rig to work,  Need to use one of the USB riser get the 3rd card working on the 500w PSU.

So My question is, apart from the extra cost of the USB riser's and PSU link cable.

1 decent 1500w PSU cost 300 plus
2 decent 750w PSU cost around 130

What are people views on the 2 options,  I can see pro's and cons for both.

4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / XFX 7950 & 7970, are they any good on: January 04, 2014, 11:30:24 AM
I've heard a lot about these cards not been that good,  But I've got a XFX 7950 running at about 625 kh/s which is only about 25kh/s below my gigabyte 7950.

Have I just struck it lucky on this card.

Lets hear from other users
5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Does this sound to good to be true on: January 03, 2014, 06:53:44 PM
For sale on ebay

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Litecoin-Mining-PC-Rig-3000-KH-s-/271361675808?pt=UK_Computing_DesktopPCs&hash=item3f2e6a9220

With 3 MSi R9 290X and making 3 mh/s.  Do you think this is possible?

Also do you think the price is pretty good for a ready to run mining rig?
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Spikes on cryptsy graphs on: December 27, 2013, 01:27:23 PM
What courses the spikes on the cryptsy graphs

Looking back over the last day, there's a downwards spike down to 0.00000010

And looking back over a week, there's a upwards spike to 0.00000850

Are these actual trades?
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Catcoin vs Kittehcoin on: December 24, 2013, 08:16:24 PM
So we now have Catcoin and Kittehcoin

Catcoin,  Terrible launch and a litecoin wallet, lol,  But fundamentally a good coin, low coin count, difficult to mine and no pre-mine.

Kittehcoin,  Better ish launch, had to hunt for the wallet, not many pools working.  Too many coins to ever have a high value per coin.

Lets hear your thoughts

I'll let everyone welcome me.  Been watching the Forum for a few months now

Built my first scrypt mining rig about 4 weeks ago and have been plying around in different pools .

Rig is currently running 4 gigabyte 7950 GPU and making about 2.4mhash.  I can get it to about 2.7, but it's no very stable to leave running,  Better slow and steady, instead of stop and start.

Starting mining earth coins this morning when I first heard about them,  Hopefully pay off 1 day
