2  Bitcoin / Press / [2014-01-29] Discover Local Places To Spend Bitcoin With CoinScout For iPhone on: January 30, 2014, 03:39:51 AM

Florida based Mediaspree LLC has released CoinScout 1.0 for iOS, a simple tool to help locate local shops and restaurants that accept bitcoin as payment. CoinScout seeks to to focus on traditional "Brick and Mortar" venues that accept bitcoin. The app uses a virtual compass interface that fixates on the nearest bitcoin friendly venue to guide users as they explore the neighborhood around them. A quick spin of the compass will reveal other merchants who accept bitcoin nearby.
3  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Twitter rejects ad for bitcoin app due to "adult sexual services policy" on: January 27, 2014, 01:50:10 PM
Seeking to get the word out about my bitcoin app, CoinScout, I started a twitter campaign to promote a tweet describing the function of the app. Twitter put my account in review and a few days later responded with:

"@bitcoinscout, your account is ineligible to participate in the Twitter Ads program at this time based on the Twitter Ads adult sexual products and services policy."

Now the app really has nothing to do with adult sexual services. It's an app to find local places that accept bitcoin as payment. (you know, burger joints and dry cleaners, not hookers lol)

Here is the app (for iOS):
https://itunes.apple.com/app/id793484994

and the tweet I was promoting
"Discover Local Places That Accept #Bitcoin As Payment. Install Now FREE itunes.apple.com/app/id793484994"

What do you think? Justified rejection? Not the real reason it was rejected?

4  Bitcoin / Project Development / Coin Scout - Bitcoin compass and maps to find local places that accept Bitcoin on: January 17, 2014, 12:48:53 AM
Coin Scout is a simple tool for discovering local shops and restaurants that proudly accept bitcoin as payment.

Find nearby merchants, bars, restaurants and services with ease. The rotating bitcoin compass points you in the right direction as you make your way towards the venue.

Want to explore the neighborhood? Spin the bitcoin or consult the handy map to discover what's around you. Get directions, websites, and contact info for each venue to check it out before you arrive.

Try out Bit Vision which uses augmented reality to combine your camera and venue information for a powerful bitcoin spending experience.

CoinScout is a must-have for every bitcoin enthusiast.

5  Economy / Services / Appcasher.com pays out rewards in bitcoin for downloading apps on: December 23, 2013, 02:08:28 AM
Appcasher.com pays you to download apps, fill in surveys, and complete offers.

Recently they added a payout option in bitcoin. I've earned about $20 worth of bitcoin for various tasks (mostly just downloading and opening apps) with no money out of pocket (I do have to cancel a few free trials in the coming days Wink) You only need to amass 1000 points to get $1 in bitcoin and that can be done by just downloading the hotels.com and expedia.com apps!

I'm not affiliated with them but if you use my referral code we both get 200 bonus points Smiley
