Just another gripe about how long it takes to get just "one" confirmation.  I want to gamble my bitcoin away as fast as possible but the confirmation time takes sooooo long Sad

43  Economy / Digital goods / *~*~Free HBO "VICE" Episode on Youtube~*~* on: March 15, 2015, 10:46:39 PM
Fellow Bitcoiners, this is earth shattering news:  A cure for cancer may finally be in sight.  Please check out this video on youtube:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e8SvBAjXGyQ

HBO was good enough to release the full episode on their YouTube channel.  You probably already know this but please just ignore the retarded people that post comments on YouTube.  They complain about HBO releasing this video and their cable bill being high because of this.  Of course they are trolling but... ugh, how awful to post such ignorance in the light of this amazing discovery.

To sum up the episode or TLDW:

The episode covers 3 different examples of hospitals that are using modified versions of various viruses.  In one example they give modified measles intravenously and the patients get results in a few weeks even though during that time they are in a lot of pain especially during the first week and the pain is in the same locality of the virus.  Basically, the modified virus targets the cancer and destroys it.  The measles treatment has a high rate of success.  The next one they show is more invasive and has a lower current history/rate of success (maybe only in the 60% range) but it still offers hope.  With the second one they apply a modified version of the common cold virus directly to a patients brain tumor.  This involves cutting into the patients skull (it hurts just thinking about it as I type this) and then applying the modified virus to the patients brain tumor.

The last example they show is truly amazing.  They modify the HIV virus and apply it to patients with cancer.  For many of these phase-3 test patient volunteers it is their last hope after they have undergone chemo and other treatments.  The modified HIV example has a 90++% success rate.  They show a little girl before and after the treatment.  Before she is bald and clearly very ill.  Just weeks after the Modified HIV treatment she is back in school with a full head of hair.  For about 72 hours after the HIV treatment, the patient is deathly ill running 104 degree fever.  And then when they test for cancer it is either barely there or altogether in full remission.

It's a beautiful story and if no objections I'm going to share this as a freebie in the digital goods threads too.

Thanks for reading and I encourage everyone to like, share, etc the youtube video out to any social media you can get this to.

45  Economy / Scam Accusations / msinv.biz HYIP Scam?? on: March 15, 2015, 10:20:23 PM
Hi.  Pretty sure I was burnt by the msinv.biz scam.  I think the website is now a weird type of porn site so I'd avoid it like the plague.  Just wondering if anyone else knows about this what appears to be an obvious scam.  It's too bad too because they were up for something like 2 years without problems so a lot of people probably made money.  I didn't get burned too badly but any loss is bad.

Anyone know any further details about this one?
46  Other / New forum software / The Like Button on: March 02, 2015, 04:27:35 AM
It's probably already been suggested but in regards to a discussion about this bitcoin forum, it would be cool to have a "like" button per-post rather than replying to a post to simply say I like what you said.  I don't think it should be used as any sort of ranking or to serve as a valuable/farmable commodity of how many "likes" any post gets... just mean it as a way to cut down on the unnecessaries.
47  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Mango Coin? on: February 22, 2015, 11:01:54 PM
A few months ago I got the mango coin app on my phone and was tracking it... got up to close to 100 coins and then the other day I checked and it was back at zero and mining again.  Anyone know anything about mangocoinz?

49  Other / Politics & Society / Science makes gold on: February 21, 2015, 09:17:45 PM

http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2012/10/121002150031.htm

bleh, it's still "too expensive" to mass produce.  Come on science!  Still though, "Brown and Kashefi fed the bacteria unprecedented amounts of gold chloride, mimicking the process they believe happens in nature. In about a week, the bacteria transformed the toxins and produced a gold nugget."  Maybe if the process could be refined and mass produced in an efficient way maybe it could be cost effective.  They say it's cost prohibitive to recreate the "experiment" but the goal shouldn't be to reproduce some experiment but to end exploitation of various resources by making gold production more attainable.  The article comment about greed and economics is ridiculous... tell us something we don't already know.
50  Other / Politics & Society / 22 Veterans Every Day on: February 14, 2015, 01:42:18 AM
An average of 22 US Veterans take their own life every day.  I commonly work with active duty service members so I'm reminded of the challenges they face on a regular basis.  Try to remember the completely different life of a veteran even if you are a veteran yourself.  It's complicated but making a conscious effort goes a long way.
51  Economy / Invites & Accounts / Runes of Magic (World of Warcraft Clone) Accounts For Sale on: February 08, 2015, 09:04:38 PM
Hi, Just wanted to gauge interest.  I have several runes of magic accounts that I could sell if anyone is interested.  Some are pretty high level.  Just shoot me a PM.
52  Other / Politics & Society / Personal Vote Tracking on: February 07, 2015, 11:06:10 PM
As information security technology develops, it's important to consider applications that add to the security of civilized nations.  To this end, it is inevitable that a method of personalized voter verification be developed.  I think bitcoin tech could possibly factor in but of course it would have to be absolutely secure to where only the end user could track and verify that their own vote was counted and if the vote was ever wanted to be used for analysis or investigation it would require opt-in from the individual.

It's just one of these things I think about regularly.  We have the tech to make it work but of course it's a money and political issue.  But I predict we'll see it within the next twenty years if we bug our elected officials enough.  I may look into petitioning on my own very soon.
53  Bitcoin / Project Development / Shark Tank!!! on: January 25, 2015, 06:49:20 AM
Okay, I know it was briefly discussed over a year ago and someone asked the similar question, "When are we going to see bitcoin related pitches on Shark Tank?"

I think it would be ground breaking.  But maybe the timing isn't right.  Who am I kidding?  Whoever seizes this opportunity is going to be rich!  It's gotta happen soon.
54  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Are BTC Devs Doing Enough To Encourage Adoption of BTC? on: January 25, 2015, 03:10:03 AM
I still see security and user experience as the major road blocks to BTC and any crypto.  Right now, it's a complicated mess of expensive devices, memorization of various info and just general difficulty and confusion for managing bitcoin financially.

$100 gadgets and complicated security won't work in the long run.  Have I missed something glaringly obvious here?  Where is the Apple-like user experience for BTC?  Because if it doesn't come... well BTC will never really arrive.

Also, "talk nerdy to me" doesn't really apply here.  This needs to be something discussed in plain language.  Right?   I mean people get that.. I hope.
55  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / What a drag.. waiting for just one confirmation on: January 18, 2015, 06:54:59 AM
It takes soooooooo long just to get one confirmation for a payment to post so I can move on with whatever I'm trying to do with my bitcoin.  It's ridiculous.
56  Other / Politics & Society / What about the Thousands in Nigeria on: January 17, 2015, 06:44:46 AM
Paris and Belgium get the headlines and huge media attention.  But what about Nigeria where extremists have killed thousands during the same time frame?

Just seems like an overly shifted focus towards Western interests but in reality Nigeria and other places really should get more focus because these are the breeding grounds for more terrorist attacks outside of Nigeria.
57  Economy / Speculation / The price is dropping, fine. But How much should it be worth? on: January 15, 2015, 02:57:07 AM
What price 'should' btc be at?  What is appropriate for it?  Doesn't the expanding market of businesses that accept btc have a valid even if intangible immediate affect?  Forget supply and demand... what about the contagious wild fire and lust for btc?
58  Economy / Gambling / Can Anyone Recommend a Good Texas Hold em? on: January 11, 2015, 03:01:58 AM
Are there any good texas hold em games going?  Doesn't seem like they are advertised very much.  Thanks for letting me know.

59  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Is there anything worth buying? on: January 09, 2015, 05:55:19 AM
So I'll have about $1K that I want to put towards bitcoin investment or generation of bitcoins somehow.  I've parted out my gpu rigs but am still interested in a mining aspect.  I've looked into cloud mining and some rigs that are coming out.

Mostly, the advice I've gotten is to just buy bitcoin.  But I want to do something that would be more enduring.

Is there any gear that would be just as enticing as buying bitcoin right now?
60  Economy / Trading Discussion / Any Recommended BTC Sales Services? on: January 07, 2015, 10:17:29 PM
Hi,

I'm looking to purchase some BTC with PayPal or credit card but I prefer PayPal.  So far, I've found VirWox and circle.com and they both worked pretty well.  Can anyone recommend any others?

Thanks,
