1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / A Cryptocurrency Collaboratibe Blogging Plaform on: June 18, 2015, 10:02:56 PM

Hello, everybody!

I'd like to announce a brand new Cryptocurrency Blogging Platform http://bytecoiner.org/

Supported by the Bytecoin Community members in the first place, Bytecoiner.org is now a blogging platform, where anyone can start his own technology-oriented blog, or just submit an article. So far, some of us started to cover other news and topics, somehow related to the realm of Crypto. And we'd also like to widen the list with the topics on:

- Cryptography
- Cryptocurrencies
- IT start-ups
- Digital Products
- Economics and Finance
- Business perspectives

The list is not exhaustive, so if you have any somehow related idea you want to share and discuss, you are welcome to register and write about it.

For the time being, we seem to gain readers, but it's not the point. The point is to collaborate and unite into a new Community, full of people inspired by crypto in particular, and technologies on the whole. A Community, where anyone can share his own cryptosense, discuss it, collaborate with others to implement some business ideas and so on.

Decentralized ideas need decentralized community channels that may provide actual news, thoughts and forecasts. Let us be the first channel to do that.

Best posts will be stuck on top of the main page and the authors will be rewarded by the Bytecoin Community (we are still working out the exact strategy).

So, if you are any interested, welcome on board! Just register http://bytecoiner.org/register-2 and start your own crypto-blog.

If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask in this thread or via PM.
You can also contact me via E-mail: drstrange.m@gmail.com
Bytecoiner.org e-mail: info@bytecoiner.org

PS any ideas on the design and content of the site would be pretty helpful as well.

2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / [BCN] Bytecoin technical discussion on: July 31, 2014, 02:49:04 PM
Hey guys,

I am glad to introduce you the Bytecoin (BCN) technical thread where core developers will answer any of your technical questions.

Please refrain from the off topic and keep it civil. All questions will be answered but you should take into account that it can take some time. Main focus should be on core technology questions since minor issues have been already discussed numerous times.

So, that’s pretty much it - ask question, receive answer, no off topic - everyone happy. Smiley

Also, we’ve setup an irc channel - #bytecoin-dev where you will be able to talk to developers live.

General discussion can be found here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=512747.0

4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / [BCN] Bytecoin services - call to arms on: April 09, 2014, 02:16:17 PM
Everybody knows that cryptocurrency needs an infrastructure, but Bytecoin (BCN)/CryptoNote (despite it's technical superiority over bitcoin and forks) lacks of any services at least at surface web.

I invite all of you to start developing open services for Bytecoin (BCN)/CryptoNote technology.

Bounties fund: 14 500 000 BCN and 2 BTC

Anybody interested can join me and add more BCN to this wallet: 27cSmhsS62RDfSHB4fsvVZddhznGK4xgr5vPHWV9QMtAeVCo4hmavfR4hy45hBDmPE9N1ZRNGWzS6an 9e66R2KsBFG2BYEb [updated 6/30/2015]
You could also donate BTC to the address: 12X6PXALnm9TJMp1p7UYZEakYZKdpFX4i6 [updated 6/30/2015]

We need:
1. GUI miner
2. Graphic wallet (similar to Bitcoin-QT, reward is 5 000 000 BCN)
3. P2pool
4. Translations into other languages (reward is 300,000 BCN for the translation). We need an Italian and a French translation. There are German, Greek, Hindi, Portuguese, Russian (we sent 300,000 BCN for each translation).

5. Blockexplorer (done by http://minergate.com pool, 1 000 000 BCN were sent them as a reward)
5. New logo&website (logo contest here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=582743, reward is 2 500 000 BCN!)
6. OSX version (reward is 3 500 000 BCN)

Let's do it!

We donated 5 000 000 BCN and 0.3 BTC from our fund for creating an open source Bytecoin&Monero pool - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=589533.

5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / [BCN] Bytecoin (not a bitcoin fork) How-To on: March 28, 2014, 04:26:51 PM
Bytecoin Mining How-To

Preparatory stage:

1. Launch command line, navigate to Bytecoin's folder (e.g., “c:\bytecoin”)and launch “bytecoind” (Bytecoin daemon).

   cd c:\bytecoin
   bytecoind

The daemon will start synchronizing the blockchain with the Bytecoin network. This may take some time.

2a. Open another instance of command line and navigate to Bytecoin’s folder. Generate new wallet with “simplewallet”.

   simplewallet --generate-new-wallet=example_wallet.bin --pass=12345

Here “example_wallet.bin” is the name of the wallet (use .bin file extension) and “12345” is the password for your new wallet.

Wallet’s response:

Type in “refresh” command and press Enter:

   refresh

The wallet will start synchronizing with the daemon:

2b. Alternatively, you can open an existing wallet (instead of creating a new one).

   simplewallet --wallet-file=example_wallet.bin --pass=12345

Here “example_wallet.bin” is the name of the wallet (use .bin file extension) and “12345” is its password.

The wallet will start synchronizing with the daemon automatically. Once finished, you will be prompted with your current balance:

3.Start mining right from the wallet using “start_mining” command. The screenshot below contains wallet’s response:

   start_mining

Daemon’s response:

4. You can check your current hashrate by using “show_hr” command in daemon. The daemon will start showing your current hashrate (number of hashes generated per second). Use “hide_hr” command to make the daemon stop showing hashrate:

   show_hr
   hide_hr

5. To stop mining simply use “stop_mining” command either in daemon or in wallet:

   stop_mining

  [imghttps://i.imgur.com/ldiJVPO.png]http://[/img]

6. Do not forget to properly exit the daemon and wallet by using “exit” command:

   exit
