1  Economy / Exchanges / I need your advice on Bybit vs Phemex on: January 18, 2022, 01:37:44 PM
Please, share your thoughts with the pros and cons of those exchanges. Looking for a new exchange, I am a developer and a heavy API/bot user, so this also matters a lot to me.

Would be great to point out:

* overall experience
* support
* deposit/withdrawals
* overloads freezing the trading during flash crashes and other crazy liquidity events
* API quality (very important!)

Thanks in advance!
2  Bitcoin / Electrum / Is this trusted sign for Electrum or SCAM? on: October 16, 2021, 10:00:22 AM
I downloaded the Electrum Wallet on Linux. First, I verified successfully the main key:

Code:
gpg --verify Electrum-4.1.5.tar.gz.ThomasV.asc Electrum-4.1.5.tar.gz
When I tried to verify the release key, though:

Code:
gpg --verify Electrum-4.1.5.tar.gz.sombernight_releasekey.asc Electrum-4.1.5.tar.gz
I got an error:

Code:
gpg: Signature made Mon 19 Jul 2021 10:19:51 PM EEST
gpg:                using RSA key 0EEDCFD5CAFB459067349B23CA9EEEC43DF911DC
gpg: Can't check signature: No public key
So I downloaded the key from the Ubuntu Server (although I am using MX Linux, but I am not sure which other server to use and Ubuntu sounded trusted to me):

Code:
gpg --keyserver keyserver.ubuntu.com  --receive-keys 0EEDCFD5CAFB459067349B23CA9EEEC43DF911DC
After this, when I tried again to verify the signature, I got:

Code:
gpg: Signature made Mon 19 Jul 2021 10:19:51 PM EEST
gpg:                using RSA key 0EEDCFD5CAFB459067349B23CA9EEEC43DF911DC
gpg: Good signature from "SomberNight/ghost43 (Electrum RELEASE signing key) <somber.night@protonmail.com>" [unknown]
gpg: WARNING: This key is not certified with a trusted signature!
gpg:          There is no indication that the signature belongs to the owner.
Primary key fingerprint: 0EED CFD5 CAFB 4590 6734  9B23 CA9E EEC4 3DF9 11DC

Is this signature recognized as safe?
I can see that SomberNight is indeed one of the Electrum dev's.
But I am concerned as I can not find anywhere on trusted websited the Sombersnight fingerprint: 0EED CFD5 CAFB 4590 6734 9B23 CA9E EEC4 3DF9 11DC

It is not pointed out in the documentation as the ThomasV's signature is. I can see it being present on old pages in electrum.org, but when I try to access them, even using the Google Cached option, it is gone.

And the other sites I found it cited are hacking sites (like winning from the lottery), a site trying to redirect me to a porn site, etc.. and this makes me very suspicious.
3  Economy / Services / Is anyone willing to use my trading bot against % of the revenue? on: March 25, 2021, 07:33:31 PM
I have developed a trading bot and backtested it. I just put it to run with my own bitcoin capital. My bank is not very big though so I'm wondering if anyone is interested to use it also in their account against percentage of the profit.

I have developed the bot during very long time just for myself. I'm not interested in selling it commercially. After all, the bot has max stake up due to liquidity limit on the exchange (Deribit). I would be interested to lend it to just one person which to invest around one bitcoin capital in it for some time (some months up to a year), during which I commit to the bot maintaince. There is server (AWS) monthly fee to be paid as well, which I might or might not cover myself, depending on the offer.

I am providing below the results from the backtesting for the period January 2019 - January 2021.

Start bank: 1 BTC
Number of trades: 292
Timeframes: 1h, 90m, 2h, 3h, 4h
Stake size: 10% of bank, stake gets reduced or increased and is always the same % of the bank
Max stake per trade: 50 BTC (with leverage)
Max stake per trade: 2 BTC (without leverage)
Lowest bank level: 68% from previous top level
ROI:  20.451987515487712%
Win rate: 36.64383561643836%
Final bank: 52.06951838957168 BTC

Anyone interested can suggest a deal. If we agree on something we can proceed.

Thanks for reading.
4  Economy / Exchanges / Binance volume is dead on: July 23, 2019, 10:37:54 PM
Since about almost a week. Any idea what is going on? The iOS app problems, the USA customers going away?

Most of the coins are under 100 BTC daily volume, before there were at most 10 such markets. Now it's impossible to trade.

10  Other / Meta / Please, fix the link to # position on page in PM on: May 30, 2014, 01:41:10 PM
Hi,
since some time the link to # position on the same page in private messages doesn't work. Before when I clicked on a message title it it was putting me to the # position of the message (scroll to the exact message).
Now for some reason it doesn't work and I have to scroll manually to each message.
Please, fix this. Thank you.

12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Litecoin compile on: May 23, 2014, 07:06:59 PM
Hi,

sorry if this is the wrong forum for this thread but I could not find any more relevant.

I am trying to compile the litecoin wallet and after executing

Code:
make -f makefile.unix

The compilation ends with the line:

Code:
/bin/sh ../share/genbuild.sh obj/build.h

I am not getting any errors, however I am neither getting any success messages. Ideas?

Actually the wallet compiled and I even started qt and it started to sync. But as far as I remember in  the past compiling was giving some more messages, and I am scared if something is still not OK. What is your experience?
13  Economy / Goods / WTS a brand new unworn Raw G-star T-shirt on: May 09, 2014, 08:32:06 PM
WTS a brand new Raw G-star T-shirt, the same model as here:

http://www.hughharrisshop.co.uk/t-shirts-c4/g-star-white-raw-correct-line-crane-bird-round-neck-short-sleeve-t-shirt-p41654
However,  it is not white, but dark green.

The T-shirt is not worn and is just bought from the shop, with the original label on it. I like it actually a lot but I sell it because it doesn't fit me that perfectly (too small). Size is S.

This is the T-shirt: https://i.imgur.com/ixmVZIV.jpg

15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / List coins with purpose on: May 05, 2014, 10:08:02 AM
Hi,

can we list here coins with purpose, which are not pump and dumps?

For start and example I can add GPUC and PAWN. Unfortunately seems like GPUC is already dead as its model was nice but badly executed by the CEO.
PAWN has also great ideas behind it and is still in a position where it can potentionaly turn them into reality.
Can someone list some other coins as them and we build here a list of such coins? Would be nice to act like a community as it is hard to follow this plenty of new coins daily.
16  Other / Off-topic / Best movies like "The wolf of wallstreet"? on: May 05, 2014, 09:33:33 AM
I have seen this movie and I love it.
Anyone aware of similar movies like it?
If Leonardo is starting would be awesome, such characters fits him great!  Grin
17  Economy / Services / [ANN] [FREE ESCROW SERVICE] on: May 05, 2014, 08:49:27 AM
I will be offering a free escrow service. The service will be free for a limited time.

I will be doing that both in order to assist newer users while they trade between them and in order to build my reputation on the forum.

I would prefer to hold mainly escrow for BTC as being a Linux user and having to compile each new altcoin wallets is time consuming for me, however, if needed that would be an option as well.

If you need my services just shot me a PM.
