Amani-Kinderdorf (meaning Amani orphanage) is a German NGO working with and for AIDS-orphans from Tanzania. The term AIDS orphans refers to the fact that these children lost their parents because of AIDS, not to the fact that they are infected themselves. Only a small number of these children actually has to live with AIDS.The Amani organisation built two pretty big orphanages in rural Tanzania so far and is always looking forward to get some financial help to fund their various projects mentioned on their site.

Unfortunately the children in these orphanages don't know (yet) what a Bitcoin is but I really hope that they can benefit from their existence.

As I pointed out below this term just refers to the fact that many orphans lost their parents to AIDS. OF COURSE these orphanages in Tanzania are open for ALL orphans and not just for those who lost their parents to AIDS.

Just a pure, simple list of things not fixed yet:

- "Buy Bitcoins" on the frontpage doesn't work for me and just shows me "The requested page was not found on this server"
- "Sell Bitcoins" on the frontpage doesn't work for me and just shows me "The requested page was not found on this server"
-  MtGox public data (https://mtgox.com/support/tradeAPI) is not working for me and just starts to auto-download if I click on it. This includes the MtGox ticker, the market depth and the recent trades

I heard that some guys have some more issues (like negative balances, etc...). If they still persist, please post these bugs in this thread as well. MagicalTux will thank you.

I just wanted to let you know that I recently realized that there is no option for recurring transactions in the Bitcoin client. This could be very useful very example for people who wish to do one of the following:

- donate a certain amount of Bitcoins to charity every month
- pay their (electricity, water, whatever) bills in Bitcoins
- support someone (maybe a family member) over and over again
- etc...

At the moment this may seem a bit overkill but I'm pretty sure it will become very crucial once Bitcoin becomes a bigger player and companies start to accept it as a valid payment option.
What do you guys think? Any plans to change the official client to implement this feature?

I recently wrote a blog post about the possibility of Bitcoin becoming a real chance for Africa. What are your opinions on this topic?
Do you think Bitcoin may become a real competitor to Western Union once enough exchanges are in place? Any suggestions how to speed up the process of establishing exchanges in developing countries?

Any other thoughts about this topic? I would love to read your suggestions as I think it's high time to replace the established companies with their high fees by a system, which really serves the people and not only its own interest.
