A well known stablecoin is Tether (USDT) and it has reached already a very high position on Coinmaketcap. Stablecoin suggests "stable" but it doesn't mean it is safe.
Nobody really knows if all USDT ist backed 1:1 by USD.

If you want to increase easily the security of your coins you can do it by a simple step. Just withdraw your coins from the exchange to a personal safe wallet where you have the private keys. The changes of the trust system can have some influence about where it's allowed to do self-moderation, especially if there is too much abuse and I've added the date to my table to show when I've noted it. I'm also open to a discussion if we need some changes.

Bei der Erstellung eines neuen Topics kann ausgewählt werden, ob man diesen Beitrag in der Standardversion erstellt oder ob man es als selbst-moderiert (self-moderated) einstellt. Selbst-moderiert heißt, dass man dort selbst Antworten von anderen Teilnehmern löschen kann, um spam und off-topic zu beseitigen.

Diese Funktion lässt sich nicht in allen Bereichen nutzen, aber in den meisten und man kann sie aktivieren, wenn man einen Beitrag erstellt:




Unter + Additional Options ist das entsprechende Kästchen anwählbar. Hat man einen Haken bei self-moderated gesetzt und man klickt auf post, um den Beitrag schließlich zu erstellen, wird man später darin selbst Kommentare löschen können. Dies kann sehr hilfreich sein, wenn man Spam-Kommentare schnell entfernen möchte.

Man kann bestehende Beiträge, die einem zwar gehören, nicht nachträglich von selbst-moderiert zu Standard oder andersherum abändern. Bei Themenerstellung sollte man daher gut überlegen, welche Einstellungen man wählt.


Wie viele gute Sachen hat auch die Möglichkeit der Selbstmoderation einen großen Nachteil:

Diese Möglichkeit wird von Scammern hauptsächlich in den Altcoin-Bereichen eingesetzt, um bewusst jegliche Kritik an ihrem Projekt zu löschen und ebenfalls Warnungen eines Scams direkt zu zensieren und zu entfernen. Oft sind zudem noch die positiven Beiträge zum Projekt gefälscht, weil gekauft. Dadurch wollen die Scammer unerfahrenen Kunden vortäuschen, dass das Projekt kein Scam ist und sie investieren.
Aber auch im Marktplatz ist bei selbst-moderierten Beiträgen Vorsicht geboten, wenn durch die Selbst-Moderation kritisierende Beiträge gelöscht werden können oder andere Dinge wie Manipulation von Auktionen, Gewinnspielen etc.


Ein Blick auf das Trust-Feedback im Profil des Accounts kann möglicherweise helfen, ansonsten einfach ein paar kritische Fragen stellen und schauen, ob sie gelöscht werden. Im Board Scam Accusation gibt es ebenfalls eine ständig aktualisierte Palette an Scam-Projekten, wenn ihr dort fündig werdet und der Beweis ist ausreichend, dass es Scam ist, kann man davon ausgehen, dass es sich beim Projekt um Betrug handelt.

Seid daher vorsichtig, wenn ihr es mit einem selbst-moderierten Beitrag zu tun habt, die dort aktuell abgebildete Meinung kann stark verfälscht sein, da alle kritischen Kommentare gelöscht wurden und einige Projekte positive Posts kaufen, die aber nie von zufriedenen Personen erstellt wurden.

Was aber nicht heißt, dass jeder selbstmoderierte Beitrag ein potentieller Scam ist.

You can customize every new topic you create either in the standard version or you can make it self-moderated. Self-moderated means that you can delete posts of other participants to keep your topic clean from spam and off-topic without a moderator.
This feature can’t be used on every board, but on many of them and you can enable it when creating a post:





You have to select + Additional Options, mark the check box and enable self-moderated. If you do so and click on post, you’ll be able to delete replies in the thread. This can be very helpful if you want to remove spam comments or off-topic.

After you have created a topic you can’t change it back from self-moderated to normal. When creating a topic, you should be sure which option you’ll take. You can’t change it later, after the topic is created.


In general, a self-moderation offers some opportunities but also some disadvantages:

Self-moderation can be abused by scammers, like in the Altcoin section (ANN/Bounty) to delete any criticism of their project and also to censor and remove scam warnings. In addition, the positive comments for the project are often wrong, because they are bought. As a result, the scammers want to lure inexperienced customers to deceive them and say the project isn’t a scam to get them doing an investment.
Very important is also marketplace section, self-moderated topics should also be traded with caution if the seller is using it to cheat, like manipulating auctions or similar.


A look at the trust feedback of the profile may help, otherwise just ask a few critical questions and wait if they get deleted. In Scam Accusation, there is also a constantly updated collection of scam projects, if you find it there and the evidence is sufficient that it’s a scam, we can assume that the project is most likely fraud.

Be careful, if you are dealing with a self-moderated post, the current opinion shown there can be very biased, because all critical comments have been deleted and some projects buy positive posts, but these posts were never created by real people as a rating of their experience.
But that doesn’t mean that every self-moderated topic is automatically a scam. It can also be a very useful tool. However, you should take care.

[1. Teil: Nominierung]

Da sich das Jahr 2018 so langsam dem Ende entgegen neigt, dachte ich an einen kleinen Wettbewerb oder besser gesagt an eine kleine Abstimmung: Wer ist Bitcointalk- Teilnehmer des Jahres 2018?

Die Auswahlkriterien, was für euch konkret relevant ist, kann jeder selbst entscheiden, seien es gute Kursanalysen, hilfreiche Anleitungen oder ähnliches. Wichtig dabei ist, dass der Nutzer nachweislich aus dem deutschsprachigen Forum kommt.

Da ich nicht jeden Account auflisten kann, läuft die Abstimmung in 2 Teilen wie folgt ab:

1. Teil: Nominierung

Zuerst kann jeder beliebig viele Accounts nominieren und das in den Kommentaren schreiben. Die Frist dazu geht bis Samstag, 22.12.2018 um 22:00 Uhr.
Dann werde ich in einer Abstimmung alle genannten Namen auflisten und ihr könnt abstimmen. Die Reihenfolge in der Liste geht nach der Reihenfolge, in der die Namen in den Kommentaren nominiert wurden.

2. Teil: Abstimmung

Nach Samstag, 22.12.2018 um 22:00 Uhr werde ich die in den Kommentaren nominierten Nutzer in einer Abstimmung auflisten und jeder kann mit einer Stimme für seinen Favoriten abstimmen.  
Die Frist für die Abstimmung läuft bis Sonntag, 30.12.2018, 22:00 Uhr.

Wer bis dahin die meisten Stimmen gesammelt hat, darf sich Bitcointalk- Teilnehmer des Jahres 2018 nennen.

The concept of rICO (reversible ICOs) promises to make the ICO market more secure and fight against scams that brought a lot of negativity to the market.

For projects based on ERC-20 platform, investors should be able to order back the invested cryptocurrencies (ETH) at any time if they are not satisfied with the progress of the project.
Every token owner could simply return the own Token to the sender address and in return he would receive the invested Ethereum via smart contract back. This should make sure that the developers continue to work diligently on the product after collecting funds.
Most scammers won’t be successful in stealing funds if the project is based on this new reversible model.
Investors could get their investment back, at least large parts. Bit it would be difficult to arrange, because the team needs access to some of the money to make progress on the project.


What are the dangers?

Of course, there are also dangers, especially the uncertainty, when too many investors withdraw their money and the new company may run out of money. However, in good projects, the proportion of those who are not satisfied and reclaim their investment will be very small.

In general, this solution of the reversible ICOs is very good, because the normal investors are clearly protected. For the developers there is also an interest to provide a successful project, otherwise the investors could transfer their investment back. For ICOs in general, this would mean an increase in interested investors and more money can be collected.
It would be a significant improvement to the current situation.

rICO – ein ICO, bei dem man sein ETH wieder zurückfordern kann?

Das Konzept der rICO (reversible ICOs) verspricht, den ICO-Markt seriöser zu gestalten und Scams den Boden zu entziehen, die bisher den Markt in negativer Weise beeinflussen.

Für Projekte auf ERC-20-Basis soll es dazu für Investoren die Möglichkeit geben, die investierten Kryptowährungen (ETH) jederzeit wieder zurückzuerhalten, wenn sie mit dem Fortschritt des Projektes nicht zufrieden sind.
Dazu könnte man die eigenen durch das Investment erhaltenen Token einfach an die Absenderadresse zurücksenden und würde im Gegenzug das investierte Ethereum via smart contract wiedererhalten. Dies soll insbesondere dazu dienen, dass die Entwickler nach dem Einsammeln der Gelder weiterhin fleißig am Produkt arbeiten.
Den klassischen Scams, wie es sie vielfach gibt, würde damit theoretisch der Boden entzogen werden. Investoren könnten ihr Investment zumindest zum großen Teil zurückbekommen. Wie das in der Realität aussieht, müsste man sehen, denn für die Umsetzung des Projekts benötigt das Team Zugriff auf einen Teil des Geldes.

Was sind die Gefahren?

Es gibt natürlich auch Gefahren, nämlich die Unsicherheit, wenn zu viele Investoren ihr Geld wieder abziehen und das junge Unternehmen möglicherweise das Geld knapp wird. Bei guten Projekten wird der Anteil derer jedoch sehr gering sein, die nicht zufrieden sind und ihr Investment zurückfordern werden.

Generell ist diese Lösung der reversiblen ICOs im Prinzip sehr gut, denn die normalen Investoren werden klar geschützt. Für die Entwickler besteht somit auch das Interesse, das Projekt erfolgreich voran zu bringen, denn sonst könnten die Investoren ihr Investment zurücktransferieren. Für ICOs würde das die Reputation erhöhen, was eine Zunahme an Interessenten bedeuten würde und damit auch mehr Geld, das eingenommen werden kann.
Ob so etwas funktioniert, müsste man sehen, es wäre aber eine deutliche Verbesserung zum heutigen Stand.

Was haltet ihr davon?

There is a new scam trend in Telegram, but if you know about it, it’s quite easy to avoid. The scammers send malware files to a public Telegram group to reach a large number of potential victims.
These files in SCR format have legit names to encourage users to download the file. Often names like "roadmap", "whitepaper" or "price prediction" are used, which could be issued of the official team, but they aren’t official, they are from scammers. These SCR files contain only malware and should never be downloaded.

The unmoderated functions of Telegram are on the one hand very positive for all users, but can also be abused from scammers, which exploit this mercilessly. Therefore, it’s always best to avoid downloading any suspicious files via Telegram in general.

How about displaying positive trust ratings in green fonts? I wondered why negative ones are red and positive ones just (bold) black. That would be easier to make the visibility of trust ratings clearer in general since positives ones are bold black and neutral ones just black right now. Neutral ones could still be black.

And it’s very easy to implement.  

Es gibt einen neuen Scam-Trend in Telegram. Dazu senden die Scammer Malware-Dateien in eine große, öffentliche Krypto-Gruppe, um eine hohe Anzahl an potentiellen Opfern zu erreichen.

Diese Dateien im SCR-Format werden von den Scammern mit einem Namen benannt, der möglichst legitim erscheint und dazu animieren soll, die Datei herunterzuladen. Oft werden Namen wie „roadmap“, „whitepaper“ oder „price prediction“ verwendet, von denen man denkt, dass sie auch von offizieller Seite stammen könnten.
Diese SCR-Dateien enthalten jedoch nur Malware und sollten deshalb niemals heruntergeladen werden.

Die unmoderierte Auslegung von Telegram ist einerseits für Nutzer sehr positiv, sie nutzt aber auch Scammern, die dies gnadenlos ausnutzen. Am besten ist es daher immer, generell den Download von Dateien über Telegram zu vermeiden.
