I am wondering how you seperate promising alt coins from coins which are potential scams.

So far I usually start by looking at the website. Unfortunately, this often does not help that much as most have a clean website with some promises, and a decent Youtube video.

Next I check to see if they have a sub-reddit and how active it is.

After that check if there is a Stack Exchange and if there are developers.

Also, I try to look at their GitHub or other hosting repository to see how the codes looks or is organized.

What methods do you guys use to research a new crypto?

What is accounting for the enormous volume on OKCoin?

They offer algorithmic trading with pretty sophisticated options, but there is no built in botting option.

A lot of people say the Litecoin has so much volume there because there are no trading fees at OKCoin. However, OKCoin's site itself says there are fees.

Who is making all the bots if not OKCoin themselves? Is it possible they are trapping market orders with unfair practices and then re-selling or re-buying the coins?

Yet, everybody will still continue to get their bitcoin news from their no matter how censored it gets.

The Litecoin volume on OKCoin and other Chinese exchanges are very high.

Does anybody know the reason for so much volume? No trading fees alone cannot explain this much volume.

For example, on OKCoin there is often more than 10 million Litecoins trading hands a day... but there are only 32.5 million Litecoins in circulation!

Hello, would it be fine with Electrum developers if there was a website which hosted a public wallet, showing QR and 12-word pass phrase?

The wallet would hold 1 bitcoin, and the idea would be to see if anybody can hack it.

Hey guys, I started a Bitcoin News website 2 months ago with some friends who are also Bitcoin enthusiasts.

One week ago, we got permanently URL blocked, and IP address blocked from posting on Reddit Bitcoin. Our traffic numbers have tumbled since then, we have lost nearly 70% of our traffic since this ban.

What we discovered is many people are only going to Reddit Bitcoin for news. Reddit Bitcoin is heavily censored, and is now an additional central point of failure for Bitcoin. I think we need to get the news back on Bitcoin Talk!

Inception of Money.
As the trades expanded to keep a track of “who owed whom how much” became very tedious. One intelligent man came up with a better ledger that could track who owed him how much. So when people came to him to get something he asked them to pay him stones as a way to keep a track of how much they owe him. This was the birth of “Money”, which rose from keeping a track of debts. This method gained popularity and was adopted but other in the community as it improved upon keeping track of debts.

5. The Bitcoin ETF is required to buy additional Bitcoins Details of the Winklevoss ETF reveal that as more money flows into their trust, they are required to buy Bitcoins. Since the supply of Bitcoins is limited, this means they will have to buy from exchanges or over the counter purchases.
