1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / [ANN] [PRE ICO] 🌈LOTTOKEN IS HERE: FAIR AND TRANSPARENT CONTESTS FOR EVERYONE on: September 29, 2017, 03:23:12 PM

We’re really happy you’ve chosen to engage this thread because we are distributing our tokens: Lottokens, which will let you take advantage of our platform in organizing, participating and contributing to world's most secure, trustworthy and transparent contests.

Visit our website for white paper, founder bios, value proposition, and ICO plans.

Lottoken platform aims to enable organizers to hold truly secure, trustworthy and transparent contests which can include raffles and lotteries. We hope to disrupt $275B global contests markets which include different types of raffles, lotteries and contests.

Lottoken's use case is the perfect application of blockchains and smart contracts. Being decentralized means there is no central point of trust failure. Also being on Ethereum, a global blockchain, Lottoken platform allows organizers to reach a global audience.

Patent-pending technology innovations from us will make contests on the Lottoken Platform completely fair

Contests like lottery or raffle by nature lend themselves automatically to usage of tokens. If you go to a typical arcade, most of the times you do not go and play each game with fiat money but you use some kind of pre-loaded card or tokens. Same concept applies in a Lottoken contest. Hence issuing tokens is integral to our solution offering rather than just a vehicle for fund-raising.

We are a USA based company with roots in Silicon Valley and incorporated in the Delaware state of USA. We own the Lottoken platform as in we have responsibility to drive innovation and maintain quality of the Lottoken platform. Other than that we strive to keep the Lottoken platform open.

Individual organizers of the contests within the Lottoken platform are completely responsible for the contests they are driving and they have full autonomy in the type of contests they organize.

We are a USA based company with roots in Silicon Valley and incorporated in the Delaware state of USA. Both of our founders are field proven with established track records in the technology industry.

We will start our ico in couple of weeks. Meanwhile you can do early enrollment in pre-ICO through our pre-ICO webpage :

3  Economy / Service Discussion / Has bitinstant stopped "scamming"? on: April 19, 2013, 09:26:08 AM
Is bitinstant now safe to use? I had used them before and it was quite convenient for me. However, I was put off when many people claimed to not be receiving their coins during the recent exchange rate fluctuations? Should I be worried about long delays?

4  Economy / Trading Discussion / Why are UK bitcoin buying options disappearing on: April 02, 2013, 09:38:18 AM
I have a family member in the UK who sends me some money occasionally and beginning last year I started asking them to do it using bitcoin. We used to use Intersango, but that was shut down soon after. We moved to using's UK options but even that was shut down in the last week or so. I asked on the bitcoin-otc IRC channel and someone said the UK authorities are cracking down. I haven't seen any news on this and I follow bitcoin realetd news regularly. Does anyone know WTF is going on?? Huh
5  Economy / Trading Discussion / Anyone know of a multivendor shopping cart which can be intergrated with btc? on: March 26, 2013, 10:24:02 AM
Does anyone know of any multi-vendor shopping cart software that can be used with bitcoin or that has a bitcoin plug in available/ Preferably open source. However, if none exists, would it be feasible to hire a programmer to edit an existing open source solution like oscommerce to provide multi-vendor support?

9  Economy / Currency exchange / I have Bitcoin I'd like to exchange for Liberty Reserve USD ASAP on: August 26, 2012, 02:46:43 AM

Please PM, I need to exchange as soon as possible.

10  Economy / Trading Discussion / Where can I exchange BTC to LR (liberty reserve) on: August 18, 2012, 04:14:47 AM

I used to be able to exchange from BTC to LR using Mt.Gox codes at AurumXchange. However, for some odd reason, they are no longer accepting trades in this direction. Does anyone know where I can exchange BTC (or Mt Gox codes USD) for Liberty Reserve? I tried but their market isn't liquid enough as I need an immediate exchange.

11  Economy / Service Discussion / Does Mt Gox have a 'stop loss order' feature on: August 18, 2012, 02:42:38 AM

I'd like to know if Mt Gox has a 'stop loss order' feature? i.e. an automatic trade order I can make such that if the BTC price were to fall below a certain level, it would automatically sell my BTC.

12  Economy / Economics / Argentina turns to dogs to hunt disappearing dollars on: May 19, 2012, 08:45:12 PM

Seems like de ja vu all over again. The calendar says 2012 but it feels very much like 2002. Anyone who knows any Argentines should talk bitcoin Ad nauseam.
13  Economy / Economics / Greece mulls Euro exit on: May 15, 2012, 07:20:33 AM
Some serious players are now publicly talking about what some of us knew was inevitable from the beggining. If ever there was a time to push bitcoin hard on the Greeks now is the time. There is already talk of capital controls, bank runs, reintroduction of the Drachma which will be immediately devalued by as much as 50%. They estimate inflation will also be 50%. Sounds a lot like Zimbabwe 10 years ago.

I suggest we start a bounty and commission a translation of the bitcoin client into the Greek language.

15  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / How to recover wallet backup without downloading whole block chain on: March 15, 2012, 09:12:49 AM

I have a backup with coins in it that I need but rescanning the block chain is taking ages and is going at snails pace right now. Is there a way (alt client maybe?) to recover these coins without having to wait for the entire block chain?

16  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Bitcoin will not start up after upgrade to 0.5.2 on: January 19, 2012, 08:38:21 PM
I downloaded bitcoin 0.5.2 yesterday replacing 0.5.0rc7 which I was using before. The blockchain updated as normal and I exited. Today, I tried opening bitcoin-qt from terminal and it showed the loading screen but it quickly disappeared and the following error was left in the terminal window:

ubuntu@ubuntu-desktop:~/$ bitcoin-qt

EXCEPTION: 22DbRunRecoveryException
DbEnv::open: DB_RUNRECOVERY: Fatal error, run database recovery
bitcoin in Runaway exception

terminate called after throwing an instance of 'DbRunRecoveryException'
what():  DbEnv::open: DB_RUNRECOVERY: Fatal error, run database recovery

Now bitcoin will not start and neither will the headless daemon. I have a backup of my wallet. How do I fix this?

BTW I use Ubuntu 10.04

19  Other / Politics & Society / Occupy Wall Street's anarchist roots on: November 30, 2011, 01:16:12 PM

Quote from: Aljazeera
New York, NY - Almost every time I'm interviewed by a mainstream journalist about Occupy Wall Street I get some variation of the same lecture:

"How are you going to get anywhere if you refuse to create a leadership structure or make a practical list of demands? And what's with all this anarchist nonsense - the consensus, the sparkly fingers? Don't you realise all this radical language is going to alienate people? You're never going to be able to reach regular, mainstream Americans with this sort of thing!"
In-depth coverage of the global movement

If one were compiling a scrapbook of worst advice ever given, this sort of thing might well merit an honourable place. After all, since the financial crash of 2007, there have been dozens of attempts to kick-off a national movement against the depredations of the United States' financial elites taking the approach such journalists recommended. All failed. It was only on August 2, when a small group of anarchists and other anti-authoritarians showed up at a meeting called by one such group and effectively wooed everyone away from the planned march and rally to create a genuine democratic assembly, on basically anarchist principles, that the stage was set for a movement that Americans from Portland to Tuscaloosa were willing to embrace...
20  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / What is the way forward for bitcoin? on: November 13, 2011, 03:54:07 PM
It sure feels like bitcoin has stagnated in terms of growth of user base. Is there anything that is being worked on that could boost usage in the near future?
