3  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Do the Molex Powered Risers need to come from same 12v rail as MOBO? on: March 11, 2014, 01:01:42 PM
As above really.

Have a Dell 1440w server PSU nearly ready to go, but need to know if I need to use the 'MOBO' PSU to power the risers?

Thanks
4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / [HELP] XFX DD 7950 FX795ATDJC - Keeps throttling. on: February 25, 2014, 06:55:04 PM
I can't get anywhere near 600kh without it throttling after about 2 mins and dropping down to next to nothing.

Running a dual setup with a 280x and can achieve 750kh on that no problems.

I have tried all sorts of configurations in the batch file, and the only way I can get it to run constantly is to reduce TC or GPU clock down to about 850.

Anyone else have any experience with this card?

Thanks
5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / 280x Problem - low hash rate after power cut. on: February 17, 2014, 04:53:35 PM
I am running one 280x (Sapphire VaporX - 11221-02-40G) and using -

-I 13 -g 2 -w 384 --thread-concurrency 8191 --lookup-gap 2 --gpu-engine 1085 --gpu-memclock 1500 --temp-target 73 --auto-fan --gpu-fan 20-74 --temp-overheat 87 --temp-cutoff 95 --no-submit-stale

I was averaging 750kh/s no problem.

Last night I decided to bump the GPU clock and memory up to - 1150/1800. Checked temps and they where stable at 71/72 before leaving it and going to bed.

Last night we had a powercut for a few mins, and now using the above settings I am only averaging 570kh!! Reverting back to the above batch file of 1085/1500 I only average 470kh!!

 Cry

Anyone care to take an educated guess as to whats happened?

Thanks
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / GPU underpowered for XFX 7950 + Sapphire 280x? on: February 14, 2014, 03:03:40 AM
As above.

I have a 750w XFX psu (have a dell 1520w server psu, but waiting for pcie connectors) And with just the 280x it runs perfectly at 750kh/s.

If I tweak the 7950 and run it alone I can get 620kh/s no problem.

Run them together and after 10 mins the 280x drops to about 550kh, and the 7950 400kh/s.

Any ideas chaps?

Cheers
7  Other / Off-topic / Can we have a name the troll thread? on: February 14, 2014, 12:18:51 AM
Some of the trolls on this board are ridiculous. Spamming threads with the same regurgitated hate!

Can we not have a troll list, and then when they hit a certain number of votes they get banned?

8  Economy / Computer hardware / [WTB - UK] Gpu's - 7950, 7970, R9 - 270x, 280x, 290x. on: February 10, 2014, 03:14:51 PM
As above really - need a few GPU's to build a rig.

I am in the UK, and can pay either cash on collection if local, bitcoin, or paypal.

Thanks, Tony.
9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Is it economically viable me building a scrypt rig around £1200. on: January 22, 2014, 01:26:43 PM
As above really - have between £12-1500 to spend.

Was thinking:

4x 280x Sapphire Vapor.
970 extreme 4,
8gb ram,
Cheap SSD,
And possibly 2x 750w bronze psu's.

The problem is the imminent arrival of scrypt ASIC's. I have registered my interest with Alpha-T but looks like I've missed the first batch.

Obviously computer hardware can be sold on after using it, and I need to factor in cost of electricity here as it isn't cheap in the UK!!

What do you reckon?  Huh
10  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Anyone know the difference between 270 and 270X? on: January 21, 2014, 12:17:25 AM
As above, is the X version just overclocked?

Cheers  Smiley
11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Hash rates for Intel CPU's alone - what are you getting? on: January 17, 2014, 01:26:30 AM
Using 3570k overclocked to 4.2ghz I average around 50k/h on Scrypt, using MinerD.

Does this sound right and what else are you lot getting?

Dont worry, I'll have a GPU in a week or two.  Roll Eyes
12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Best GPU for mining (and some gaming thrown in) on: January 13, 2014, 10:18:04 PM
As above really.

Considering either (2x)7850 or 280x/7950

Difference in price is about £150 currently on individual cards.

Running:
3570k,
Asrock Pro4,
Corsair vengeance 8gb,
250gb samsung 840,
2tb baracuda,
xfx 850w psu.
Zalman Z11 case
- Still yet to buy a decent monitor so running an old HP 19" but will upgrade to a decent 24" after GPU

Mining wise - Im new to. So just dabbling around in making a few coins here and there for the hell of it.
Gamin wise - Only every now and then. Steam games really.

What do you reckon?
13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Cant seem to mine on anything but DOGE on CPU. on: January 12, 2014, 01:24:00 AM
As above really. Only using CPU - 3570k overclocked safe to 4.2

Doing it for the crack at the moment on some of the newer currencies - and can for some reason only get DOGE to work through the wallet.

If I use CGminer or Cpuminer and create the batch file as instructed I get the following:

C:\Users\****\Desktop\New folder>./cgminer --scrypt  -o stratum+tcp://pool.
coinyechain.info:3333 -u ***** -p ****
'.' is not recognized as an internal or external command,
operable program or batch file.

C:\Users\****\Desktop\New folder>pause
Press any key to continue . . .

Any ideas chaps?

Thanks, Tony.
