I was playing with this great tool https://www.tradingview.com, making simple projections. As a noob, I know that my trendlines placements are off, but it made sense to me, visually. I tried to equally divide the areas above and below the average price. Conservative estimate: Extreme bullish estimate: I must be doing something wrong, but it was fun as hell.

- Medium term = 6 months - 2 years
Neutral too. U$ 110,00 - U$ 550,00
- Long term = 2 - 20 years

What are the lines of code that actually generate the public/private keys for Bitcoin?
I'd like to know where to look (search for words and commands) when inspecting a source code, in the original client and others alternatives clients as well (blockchain.info, bitaddress.org etc.)

How much did you earned? How much did you lose? Only bitcoin-related trading please. Direct purchase of bitcoins and mining doesn't count, just "speculation" trading.
The few times I tried to trade, I lost about 10%, between bad trades and MtGox fees.
I expect an equilibrium of results in this poll.
Edit:
Example, I don't wanna know if you bought at 0.01 and now they are 10.00. But if you entered mtgox with 30 coins and got out with 20 or 50 coins. Did I made myself clear? Should I believe in those 300% votes?

In other words: Will Bitcoin get almost daily coverage on bloomberg someday? I'm tired of hearing about dollars, euros, pounds, gold, bonds, bailouts and nothing about the greatest financial invention of our times.

Maybe there's a better way to address this, but:
Does someone could provide me a link (via PM, whatever) for the accounts.csv (not the adjusted, the original) leaked from MtGox hack almost a year ago.
My friend made an account and never touched again after the hack, and I finally convinced him to get back ~18 coins at that account.
The problem is that we just remember the username, but we can't remember wich email he used. (I just clicked "forget password" at mtgox and now I need the activation code)
I know that I can find the email at the leak, because I found mine (at the time, forget where the copy is). But I could only find the adjusted version, and does not contain the email...
The account number is in the 35xxx range, I just need that range.
Any help is welcome.

... “As this software was for a short time embedded within pages on the ABC website, visitors to these pages may have been exposed to the Bitcoin software, however it is not possible for the ABC to ascertain whether any audience computers were affected by Bit coin software. The ABC has not received any complaints from audience members as a result of this Bitcoin code.” ...

Bitcoin's security goes a lot deeper than I thought. The recent hack exposes that without sistematic multisignature and nLockTime practices, no matter how many armed man you put surrounding your vault, Bitcoin becomes Ether because of one weakest link. Gold it's a metal very difficult to destroy (at max, one can use Aqua regia to dissolve it), on the other hand it's very easy to destroy someone's bitcoins once an attacker gains access to it. I imagine such a financial attack/war, were a hacker/banker/insider want to destroy the wealth of a corporation/country. Today he could do it with bitcoin, stealing or sending them to an unspendable address and run away or, as a last resort, committing suicide. "Some men just want to watch the world burn." With gold it is way more difficult to enter in a vault and destroying it even with explosives. I wonder how information security is handled in hi-end financial corporations/military complexes/nuclear silos. I know that they use a kind of "multi-sig" (2 long keys/2 different owners) to open Rome's Gold Vault, and Time lock feature its used extensively in Bank vaults around the world.

Far in the future...
Is it just me or anybody feels like we live in a society that you have a chance to go to the prison even if you are innocent.
Just need a bad cop and a bad humor judge. Afterall it's their interpretation of the law, not yours, or a cold blood computer program.
I think Gavin once said, I can't remember when or where, that perhaps he will not be able to see our justice system transformed in computer protocols in his lifetime.
That bugged me. This could be one of the quintessentials achievements of humankind. It can take a long time indeed.

My cleaning lady complained about her husband's pension fund. What impressed me was that she gave more importance to a information that it is the Internet than some "oficial" government paper.
Maybe it's a naive idea and I'm not looking deep enough in the private property's issue, but I imagine a system of land registry initially walking side by side with the oficial registry, until people gain confidence and see coherence in the decentralized information.
The protocol divide the earth's lands in pieces (XY Coordinates, like pixels) and that can be made more divisible if needed.
Communities and buildings can use Multi-Sig functions.
I'm not seeing yet a solution for rewards/incentive in running such network other than have accurate information about who owns the land.
Another drawback is that you'll have to attach a real name (Decentralized Naming?/Pseudonym/Public Key?) to a piece of the land.
The objective is just to point who owns what, not to enforce some action to resolve disputes.
I don't even imagine the nightmare that is getting your land hacked!
Yet my thought is: Decentralize All the Things!!!

Idea for online wallets, bitcoin client wallet encryption or 2-way authentication.
How my online bank prevents keyloggers from stealing the 6-digit PIN code:

Although this is just another step to access my account (tokens, etc.).
It's a virtual keyboard with two numbers for each "click". Ramdomly placed.
My thinking is that with enough length, any PIN code can be relatively safe, even on public computers, BUT, nobody wants to click a 24 characters passphrase at a virtual keyboard, so it has to be combined with another security measures:
6 or 8 numeric digit PIN-code plus passphrase field.
I wonder how many "screen captures" the attacker has to have to guess the PIN-code. Anyone care to make that odd calculation?

It doesn't work. Take the usual precautions: don't get compromised, use Unix, don't use public computers.

Satoshi choose to make the generation curve so that the initial distribution is faster to increase the rate of adoption and secure the network (ease out). I've been thinking what would be the scenario if the adopted curve was like the "function ease in ease out" in the diagram:  The initial generation rate, slowly gaining confidence and acceptance, preparing the miners for the "middle-spike". Fair initial distribution? Compromised initial adoption?
