Have you ever had a situation when you realized that you were making a mistake, but you just keep on doing it. For example, buying some kind of hype shit coin about which you are absolutely sure that in the end it will become garbage, but in the short term there are chances to get a good profit, but in the end everything turns out the other way around.

Crypto wallet service MyEtherWallet has launched an open-source blockchain explorer to go alongside its popular wallet service. Called EthVM, the new data service will be more transparent and conducive to collaboration compared with popular explorers Etherscan and Ethplorer, which are not open-source. "We believe this will help us discover use cases and solutions that have not been addressed by blockchain explorers before," the company said in a press release. MyEtherWallet saw 1.4 million visitors to its website last month. The company said that in providing support to its wallet users, the team has realized that many user questions — particularly those that pertain to wallet balances and transaction status — can be quickly and easily answered using a blockchain explorer. "When it's late at night and you get a scare because the wallet interface is showing you unexpected balances, a block explorer can tell you what's really going on." https://www.theblockcrypto.com/linked/77757/myetherwallet-open-source-ethereum-block-explorer

Today you can see many topics and meassages that new projects do not succeed. But what is success? If we measure success by today's standards, then for the majority it will mean listing on a large exchange and rising prices. But is it success and success for whom? For those who just made money on this speculation? For a project that earned? For the exchange that earned? And where is blockchain and technology here?
In my understanding: Success is the full realization by a project of its ideas and goals. Success should be determined by the benefits that the project brings in itself and gives others, but not how much it costs, because these are just numbers. Success and price should be determined by the value that the project gives the world, and not the amount of money poured into the project.
I hope that in the future there will be more such examples.

Just a friendly reminder to those of you that mine, buy, or follow USDe, The Dollar Improved.
It is estimated that the coin will reach its first 1/3 of supply, 533,333,333 coins, on this Sunday sometime mid-day Central Daylight Savings Time (~4PM plus/minus some).
Block rewards will drop in half from 4000 per block to 2000 per block, until the next 2/3 of supply is reached and they cut in half yet again. This will take some time and should also reduce inflation, dumping, etc.
Enjoy mining at the 4000 block rewards for a few more days and pick up some USDe on Mintpal or other supported exchange before the event at low conversion rates still.

This seems a little ridiculous at this point that we are still watering down the crypto currency market with more coins/currencies. Aren't we at enough - for many some have specific targets and others with more general global crypto purposes. These coins for specific countries are getting out of hand it seems as well - completely pre mined to a large portion with TBDs on how they will be distributed, not really enough to distribute purposefully long term, and no true backing from governments they claim to align with in most cases. On top of that we still have a rash of coins that just get launched, dumped, and the same developers are off launching new ones. Our community has hoppers that keep jumping on new bandwagons to enable this.
Ok, done venting. Personally, just observations.
I've chosen to stick with USDe, sure its a script coin, a little unique but nothing special in specs that is - but the developer and us/team have stuck with it and have ongoing plans for improvement and constant support, talking daily, making technical improvements (we've forked it twice), and hope to tackle our issues of inflation with its first halving event then next on at 2/3, continued exchange support/expansion, etc.
More coins that are say top 100 need to do this. Get a following, and stick with them, stop hopping around, and choose one where the support is there permanently - and hopefully we'll stop seeing new coins, unless they are truly innovative. But at this point innovation is building on top of existing coin protocols which is good enough for a while.
Take care-

Is this something we'll start to see more of? Auroracoin for Iceland?
USDe was ahead of this and is building/growing in coins also still (but not pre mined). It is positioning as the Dollar Improved, with a patriotic USA feel, but still as a global new dollar - e.g. Unitary Status Dollar (USD)e.
Have to wonder if we are going to start to see more country based coins as well.

I'm a community member, miner, and supporter of USDe. The currency is making great mining progress, has advancements underway right now to launch new market related, wallet, and other services soon but also is undergoing a new look & feel for the coin and website ( http://usd-e.com). For example, Kimoto Gravity Well is launching in ~5 days I'd say (block 91000). We have great supporters, new exchanges coming, and just want to put the word out there that we/I would welcome some new members to join in our discussions on new look & feel. You can head to our community (off the main website) and/or the Bitcointalk main thread below to read some recent post on what the future look and feel is going to be centered around, share any ideas you may have, as well as join in on this only ~1 month old project. USDe, The Dollar Improved! https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=410254.0Thanks! -T
