1  Other / Off-topic / How far are we from the technological singularity on: February 26, 2014, 04:18:13 AM
Scientist predict that somewhere between 2017 to 2040, artificial intelligence will reach what is called the technological singularity, a point where it will surpass human intelligence. From there, anything is possible. We are closing the launch of Mastercoin, ethereum and other Distributed Autonomous Organization. How far can it be until someone program a DAO that will think and preserve itself. I can easily imagine programming a "Virtual Autonomous Corporation" capable of making it's own strategic and economic decisions for its own survival.

What do you guys think?
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / SETI Coin? on: February 25, 2014, 04:44:24 AM
How hard would it be to make a coin that would reward SETI calculations (like the SETI@Home program) with units of this coin. It seems the calculation wouldn't be wasted and could serve a useful purpose. Same idea can be applied to any kind of scientific calculation.
3  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Distributed lending and borrowing on: February 25, 2014, 04:22:02 AM
Hi All,

I'm trying to figure out if there are solutions to the security problems with lending Bitcoins. Basically, since no real warranty can be had online, the lending is very risky. Are there tools yet for distributing the risk of lending across a whole network of nodes? Many people lending and borrowing all pooled together?

Can the Metacoins achieve this?
4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Mining pool bandwidth and cpu usage on: January 14, 2014, 01:09:03 AM
I'm thinking about building a mining pool for altcoins. Does anyone know how much CPU and bandwidth I can expect with lets say, 100, 200, 1000 miners? Show I host privately or use a cloud service?

Thanks
