Economy / Lending / Trying Something Else...
|
on: September 15, 2014, 07:45:15 PM

Hello everyone, Logansryche here... trying something else. Any possibility of asking for a loan of 0.02 btc for 30 days? I discovered a site called Hash Profit Easy Mining while on a faucet and everything looks sound. I currently have 0.002 btc with them on their 7 day trial. I'm convinced that in 30 days I'll be able to pay back the 0.02 btc from shares from there. If not, I'll do it out of pocket. I'm only asking for it now because the trial's almost over and the first is more then 2 weeks away.
The way I see it, I'll be able to have hashes going at Hash Profit Easy Mining and build up enough to pay for what I need for the cabin. Sound idea? Possibly. Risk? I don't see any.
Thanks in advance, wallet's in my sig, Logan

Evening everyone, Logansryche here asking for a home improvement loan of at least 1btc to get our house ready for winter(apparently TN has some really cold winters). The coin would go to insulation, sheetrock, finishing off the bathroom, and finishing off the kitchen. Currently the house is sitting with studs and outer board. There's no vapor barrier but there's also no drafts. A neighbor was nice enough to donate some 12/2 wire so there's three outlets wired up, just haven't had the chance to wire up the rest but I do have the wire for it. There's no water here yet but there's a well. Trying to get a roll of pex pipe so it doesn't freeze over the winter. Terms of the loan needs to be interest/collateral free 6 months at 0.17btc per month(based on a total of 1btc). I don't expect everyone to jump at once so serious replies only.
Thanks for reading, Logan

Economy / Service Announcements / Rycon Dismantling Update Thread
|
on: September 04, 2014, 10:03:20 PM
|
Hello everyone, Logansryche here to promote my electronics dismantling business Rycon Dismantling.
I've had this idea floating around in my head for a while now(even before the card shop idea). I've been dismantling electronics since 1997 and have built up an inventory. I started this business out of a shed in Florida before moving it to Iowa in 2005. At that time my only customer was Coilcraft Semiconductor of Haywarden. This lasted till the recycle market crashed in 2009(no one was buying, so I stopped advertising).
The point of the site is to offer used but working electronics to those who have uses for them for low prices. You'll find parts only(resistors, capacitors, etc..), no whole electronics. The site is no dot com, but it'll do until enough sales pay for one. The cart is handled by BitPay and the wallet is on Virwox. These two services guarantee safe and secure sales. Sales are for anywhere in the USA but for a extra fee, I'll ship worldwide. If there's a particular part anyone is looking for, I might have it. Just message me here on this thread or by PM.

Economy / Lending / Funding Projects
|
on: March 08, 2014, 12:35:00 PM

Not sure if this would go here or into Gambling since it technically comes off as either/or... Ok. I have some projects I'd like to get off the ground and since I've been unable to raise the money in USD, I figured I'd come and try here. Project #1: Since November of last year I've been playing Call of Duty: Ghosts in my cousins clan and he'd like to go pro. We did look into it and most have a capture card linked to a fast pc to livestream, and Turtle Beach headsets. This project would cost $3,000 USD(4.77 btc) and would pay for the capture card, the fast pc, and 2 Turtle Beach X12 headsets. I also have the project listed on GoGetFunding if anyone would like to read more about the project. http://gogetfunding.com/project/cghdProject #2: Since more and more media services are moving to the internet, what I'd like to do is create an online TV Station that caters to the paranormal. The station would show all or most modern shows and movies that deal with the matter. The good thing about this project is that once it's up and going, it can be viewed anywhere around the world and the material can be shown uncut without censors. This project would cost $2,000 USD(3.18 btc) and pay for online streaming for a year. I also have this project listed on GoGetFunding if anyone would like to read more about it. http://gogetfunding.com/project/paranormal-tv-startupProject #3: This project is like project #2 except what I'd like to do is create a online TV Station that caters to gaming music videos. The project would also cost $2,000 USD(3.18 btc) and is also listed on GoGetFunding if anyone would like to read more about it. http://gogetfunding.com/project/gamer-music-video-tvI don't expect all 3 projects to be funded at once(although that would be awesome). The way I see it, if any or all are fully funded, I could state that they were funded by bitcoins and that would reflect positive on the community as a whole(especially if project #1 was fully funded). Got questions? Ask em here! Want to help fund? Send coins or cents to 1GiBhMwSqxm1JDgKuvTGTUA8FmLsfJyrTJ Thanks for reading, Logansryche

Yep, still here and not going anywhere. I know I've said it before but if not, there's a first for everything. I assumed I knew how bitcoining worked but I was very very wrong. Knowing the full ins and outs of bitcoining is like trying to find the meaning of life: it is what it is. I have however devised a plan that may or may not work. If it does, cool. If not, oh well. Because of how much of an ass I am, if anyone wants to keep me off a topic, donate to the addy in my siggy and I'll back off. If you're new here and don't understand, I'm known around these boards for flying off the handle at a moments notice.

This is a poll/discussion wither or not there would be a market for the Spartan 6 chips themselves. I was browsing the misc section of the contact that has the guitar picks and noticed they have a bunch of spartan 6s for really cheap. In inquiry was made and they said their all brand new and that they could push 20,000 chips a day if needed. I haven't ordered any(and might not since everyone's pushing asics) but thought I'd post here to see what opinions on the matter are.

Seems I do best when the information I'm reporting on is live so here we go...
Not sure if anyone's noticed it's getting chilly up here on the east coast(it's 32 here in Syracuse right now). There's a weather system in place currently that's not only chilling the air up here, but giving parts of Texas, Oklahoma and those states rain. This is suppose to last until Thursday. Why is this significant? Well there's another system coming through from Washington that's suppose to reach us by Friday that's suppose to bring even colder weather and some states might see snow and ice.
Why the report? National Weather Service is saying that while sum 1.6 million people are still without power in NY and NJ, the colder temps from the new system is suppose to frost the lines and cause additional power outages. I'll keep an eye on it and see what's what. Speaking of Sandy's aftermath, the total confirmed dead is 185 and total cost is $54 billion.
Your friendly reporter, Logansryche

Was talking to a friend of mine who's heavily into computers and networking and all that fun stuff and we got to talking about bitcoins. He suggested using at sun sunfire t2000 under linux or unix for it's data crunching capabilies. looking at specs for the t2000 sees that the cpu is a 8-core, 32-thread 1.4ghz cpu with 16gb of ram and twin 73gb sas hard drives.
Would this work? and if so, what would I see mining wise?

Other / Off-topic / In-depth Coverage of US Presidential Election
|
on: November 03, 2012, 06:30:54 PM
|
Afternoon everyone and welcome to coverage of the US Presidental Election.. I'll be relaying the information in an easy to follow format and cut through all the bullshit. I'll be presenting transcripts from the debates in 30min to 1hr increments right up till election day and will try to cover that live.
We all know Barack Obama and Mitt Romney are squaring off for the Presidency, both want it really bad. Obama wants to Finnish what he started 4 years ago and Romney thinks he can do better. These two aren't the only candidates fighting each other for a spot in the federal government, we have current Vice President Joseph Biden Jr. and candidate Paul Ryan, Don Maffei, and Ann Marie Burkle. Just to name some of who will be on the ballet. This beginning post will start with the transcript from the first election campaign between current VP Biden, and Paul Ryan which aired on ABC October 11th. The main topics of this campaign are about foreign and domestic policy issues. The questioner was Martha Raddatz.
RADDATZ: One month ago on the anniversary of 9/11, Ambassador Chris Stevens and three Americans were killed in a terrorist attack in Benghazi. The State Department is now saying there were no protesters. Was this new information an intelligence breakdown? BIDEN: What is was, was a tragedy. Chris Stevens was one of our best. We lost three other brave Americans. RYAN: When you take a look at what has happened just in the last few weeks, they sent the U.N. ambassador out to say that this was because of a protest and a YouTube video. It took the president two weeks to acknowledge that this was a terrorist attack. He went to the U.N. and in his speech at the U.N. he said it six times. He talked about the YouTube video. This Benghazi issue would be a tragedy in and of itself, but unfortunately it's indicative of a broader problem. And that is what we are watching on our TV screens is the unraveling of the Obama foreign policy, which is making the (inaudible) more chaotic us less safe RADDATZ: I just want to you about right in the middle of the crisis. Governor Romney, and you're talking about this again tonight, talked about the weakness; talked about apologies from the Obama administration. Was that really appropriate right in the middle of the crisis? RYAN: On that same day, the Obama administration had the exact same position. Let's recall that they disavowed their own statement that they had put out earlier in the day in Cairo. So we had the same position, but it's never too early to speak out for our values. We should have spoken out right away when the green revolution was up and starting; when the mullahs in Iran were attacking their people. We should not have called Bashar Assad a reformer when he was turning his Russian-provided guns on his own people. We should always stand up for peace, for democracy, for individual rights. We should not be imposing these devastating defense cuts, because what that does when we equivocate on our values, when we show that we're cutting down on defense, it makes us more weak. It projects weakness. And when we look weak, our adversaries are much more willing to test us. They're more brazen in their attacks, and are allies are less willing to... BIDEN: With all due respect, that's a bunch of malarkey. RADDATZ: And why is that? BIDEN: Because not a single thing he said is accurate. First of all... RADDATZ: Be specific. BIDEN: I will be very specific. Number one, this lecture on embassy security... the congressman here cut embassy security in his budget by $300 million below what we asked for, number one. So much for the embassy security piece. Number two, Governor Romney, before he knew the facts, before he even knew that our ambassador was killed, he was out making a political statement which was panned by the media around the world. And this talk about this... this weakness. I don't understand what he's talking about. This is a president who's gone out and done everything he has said he was going to do. This is a guy who's repaired our alliances so the rest of the world follows us again. This is the guy who brought the entire world, including Russia and China, to bring about the most devastating efforts on Iran to make sure that they in fact stop. RADDATZ: Can we talk... let me go back to Libya. BIDEN: Yeah, sure. RADDATZ: What were you first told about the attack? Why were people talking about protests? When people in the consulate first saw armed men attacking with guns, there were no protesters. Why did that go on? BIDEN: Because that was exactly what we were told by the intelligence community. The intelligence community told us that. As they learned more facts about exactly what happened, they changed their assessment. That's why there's also an investigation headed by Tom Pickering, a leading diplomat from the Reagan years, as to whether or not there are any lapses, so that they will never happen again. RADDATZ: And they wanted more security there. BIDEN: Well, we weren't told they wanted more security there. We did not know they wanted more security again. And by the way, at the time we were told, we said exactly what the intelligence community told us that they knew. That was the assessment. And as the intelligence community changed their view, we made it clear they changed their view. That's why I said we will get to the bottom of this. You know, usually when there's a crisis, we pull together as a nation. But as I said, even before we knew what happened to the ambassador, the governor was holding a press conference. That's not presidential leadership. RADDATZ: Mr. Ryan, I want to ask you about... the Romney campaign talks a lot about no apologies. He has a book called called "No Apologies." Should the U.S. have apologized for Americans burning Korans in Afghanistan? Should the U.S. apologize for U.S. Marines urinating on Taliban corpses? RYAN: Oh, gosh, yes. Urinating on Taliban corpses? What we should not apologize for... RADDATZ: Burning Korans, immediately? RYAN: What we should not be apologizing for are standing up for our values. What we should not be doing is saying to the Egyptian people, while Mubarak is cracking down on them, that he's a good guy and, in the next week, say he ought to go. What we should not be doing is rejecting claims for calls for more security in our barracks. We need Marines in Benghazi when the commander on the ground says we need more forces for security. There were requests for extra security; those requests were not honored. Look, this was the anniversary of 9/11. It was Libya, a country we knew we had Al Qaida cells there, as we know Al Qaida and its affiliates are on the rise in Northern Africa. And we did not give our ambassador in Benghazi a Marine detachment? Of course there's an investigation, so we can make sure that this never happens again, but when it comes to speaking up for our values, we should not apologize for those. Here's the problem. Look at all the various issues out there, and it's unraveling before our eyes. The vice president talks about sanctions on Iran... RADDATZ: Let's move to Iran. I'd actually like to move to Iran, because there's really no bigger national security... RYAN: Absolutely. RADDATZ: Both President Obama and Governor Romney have said they will prevent Iran from getting a nuclear weapon, even if that means military action. Last week, former Defense Secretary Bob Gates said a strike on Iran's facilities would not work and, quote, "could prove catastrophic, haunting us for generations." Can the two of you be absolutely clear and specific to the American people how effective would a military strike be? Congressman Ryan? RYAN: We cannot allow Iran to gain a nuclear weapons capability. Now, let's take a look at where we've gone. When Barack Obama was elected, they had enough nuclear material to make one bomb. Now they have enough for five. They're racing toward a nuclear weapon. They're four years closer toward a nuclear weapons capability. We've had four different sanctions, the U.N. on Iran, three from the Bush administration, one here. And the only reason we got it is because Russia watered it down and prevented the sanctions from hitting the central bank. Mitt Romney proposed these sanctions in 2007. In Congress, I've been fighting for these sanctions since 2009. The administration was blocking us every step of the way. Only because we had strong bipartisan support for these tough sanctions were we able to overrule their objections and put them in spite of the administration. Imagine what would have happened if we had these sanctions in place earlier. You think Iran's not brazen? Look at what they're doing. They're stepping up their terrorist attacks. They tried a terrorist attack in the United States last year when they tried to blow up the Saudi ambassador at a restaurant in Washington, D.C. And talk about credibility? When this administration says that all options are on the table, they send out senior administration officials that send all these mixed signals. So, in order to solve this peacefully, you have to have the ayatollahs change their minds. Look at where they are. They're moving faster toward a nuclear weapon. It's because this administration has no credibility on this issue. It's because this administration watered down sanctions, delayed sanctions, tried to stop us for putting the tough sanctions in place. Now we have them in place because of Congress. They say the military option's on the table, but it's not being viewed as credible. And the key is to do this peacefully, is to make sure that we have credibility. Under a Romney administration, we will have credibility on this issue. RADDATZ: Vice President Biden? BIDEN: It's incredible. Look, imagine we let the Republican Congress work out the sanctions. You think there's any possibility the entire world would have joined us, Russia and China, all of our allies? These are the most crippling sanctions in the history of sanctions, period. When Governor Romney's asked about it, he said, "We gotta keep these sanctions." When he said, "Well, you're talking about doing more," what are you, going to go to war? Is that what you want to do? RYAN: We want to prevent war. BIDEN: And the interesting thing is, how are they going to prevent war? How are they going to prevent war if they say there's nothing more that we say we should do than what we've already done, number one. And number two, with regard to the ability of the United States to take action militarily, it is... it is not in my purview to talk about classified information. But we feel quite confident we could deal a serious blow to the Iranians. But number two, the Iranians are the Israelis and the United States, our military and intelligence communities are absolutely the same exact place in terms of how close the Iranians are to getting a nuclear weapon. They are a good way away. There is no difference between our view and theirs. When my friend talks about fissile material, they have to take this highly enriched uranium, get it from 20 percent up, then they have to be able to have something to put it in. There is no weapon that the Iranians have at this point. Both the Israelis and we know. We'll know if they start the process of building a weapon. So all this bluster I keep hearing, all this loose talk, what are they talking about? Are you talking about, to be more credible... what more can the president do, stand before the United Nations, tell the whole world, directly communicate to the ayatollah, we will not let them acquire a nuclear weapon, period, unless he's talking about going to war. RYAN: Martha? Let's... RADDATZ: Congressman Ryan? RYAN: Let's look at this from the view of the ayatollahs. What do they see? They see this administration trying to water down sanctions in Congress for over two years. They're moving faster toward a nuclear weapon. They're spinning the centrifuges faster. They see us saying when we come into the administration, when they're sworn in, we need more space with our ally, Israel. They see President Obama in New York City the same day Bibi Netanyahu is and he, instead of meeting with him, goes on a daily talk show. They see, when we say that these options are on the table, the secretary of defense walked them back. They are not changing their mind. That's what we have to do, is change their mind so they stop pursuing nuclear weapons, and they're going faster. RADDATZ: How do you do it so quickly? Look, you saw Benjamin Netanyahu hold up that picture of a bomb with a red line and talking about the red line being in spring. So can you solve this, if the Romney-Ryan ticket is elected, can you solve this in two months before spring and avoid nuclear... RYAN: We can debate a time line. We can debate the time line, whether it's that short a time or longer. I agree that it's probably longer. Number two, it's all about... RADDATZ: You don't agree with that bomb and whether the Israelis... RYAN: I don't want to go into classified stuff. But we both agree that to do this peacefully you've got to get them to change their minds. They're not changing their minds. And look at what this administration... RADDATZ: But what do... BIDEN: Let me tell you what the ayatollah sees. RYAN: You have to have credibility.

Inspired by bitcoins4sandy.com I have an idea to set up a disaster relief fund. This fund would be fully funded by bitcoin and when needed, would be converted to whatever currency and used. The funds in the relief fund would go to provide shelter, or food, or help rebuild homes/business/etc.. in times of natural disasters such as Hurricane Sandy we just delt with here in NY. I have an unused account with walletbit that could be used and have extra web space on one of my sites.
What does everyone think? Good idea? Bad idea? I want your opinions.

No I'm not talking about the drug(why that would have a code is beyond me, but anyhow..), and this is probably so far off-topic and may or may not peak interest to the people of this forum.
This is a call out asking the members of this board to donate their unused coke rewards points that are found on bottles and cases of coke, and diet coke. Why? Because I have a use for them. Not everyone is willing to sit there at the coke site, input their code or codes, and browse the pages and pages of rewards to find something they like. If you don't want to donate your codes, that's fine but if you do, PM me the code or codes.
The caps are worth 3 codes The 8pks of bottles/cases are worth 8pts The 12/15pk cases are worth 10pts The 18pk cases are worth 15pts The 24pk cases are worth 20pts The 30/32pk cases are worth 25pts

Hello everyone, have a poll here. Last few months been contemplating which endeavor I wanted to get into and settled on Custom Guitar Picks after seeing a small boom on Listia. I have a cart set up already to accept dollars, but the point of the poll is to see if there would be a market for them if I started accepting bitcoins for payment. Cart isn't fully ready as I'm waiting for stock.

Good Day folks... Trying to raise money to help recondition the Hub Theater located in Rochelle, IL. Now that I'm working, I'll be putting 1/2 of my paycheck towards this. I've already started selling stuff on ebay for this(look up ebay id 84fordfan). The amount in total to get the theater reconditioned and ready for a grand opening is $350,000 USD. It's alot of money but alot of things needed to be taken into consideration like the purchase of the building itself and new concession equipment. Why come here, to this board? One of the forms of donations are bitcoins(among other forms), as once the theater is open, bitcoins will be accepted there as a form of payment along side the dollar, check and credit card. As an incentive, those that donate a substantial amount will receive movie tickets for life(once the theater opens). There is an area of the theater that could be set aside as a VIP type deal, where those that donate substantially have access to this room where they have access to every movie made(I dunno, still working on it). Those that donate any amount will also be named as a donater on the rochelle hub website( http://rochellehub.co.cc). This should be an interesting turn out.
