Singapore prepared new regulations for the cryptocurrency industry, a startup challenge will take place in the Philippines, and China plans to launch a high-tech boutique bank based on blockchain. Read about these and other news of the cryptocurrency industry in our weekly digest.

Startup challenge

On December 9, South Korean accelerator Dsion will host a startup challenge in the Philippines. Only blockchain startups are admitted to participate in the competition for the $20,000 prize fund.

Companies willing to compete should submit applications together with realistic plans for the future until November 25. A special jury consisting of financiers, investors, blockchain experts, and marketers will consider the applications.
Judges will choose six startups to fight for the title of the most promising startup on December 9. The winner will get $15,000, while the second and third places – $3,000 and $2,000 respectively.

Bank’s blockchain project

UnionBank of the Philippines, one of the largest banks in the country, announced its own blockchain project. Reportedly, 150 banks will take part in the project.
Details of the project are not revealed, but top on the list is The Ark, a digital bank that allows customers to use iPads to run transactions. Besides, it deploys the virtual reality technology.
According to UnionBank’s CEO Edwin Bautista, around PHP 6 billion (approximately $115 million) were spent on technological projects over the past three years.

A play for cryptocurrency

The musical play The Ballad of Ali of Keshan will be staged in Manila soon and viewers will have a possibility to pay for tickets using cryptocurrency.
Organizers state that they will arrange it if the local cryptocurrency community shows enough interest in the play. The performance will be staged nine times to allow the biggest possible number of people to connect with the story that reflects social problems.
Mr. Haldun Taner wrote the play in 1964. The performance unveils such phenomena as fraud, mass hysteria, bureaucracy, middleman, and sentimental love.

Cryptocurrency regulation in Singapore

The Central Bank of Singapore (Monetary Authority of Singapore or MAS) has developed a new Payment Service Bill (PSB) to regulate payment providers that use cryptocurrencies.

The regulatory regime will touch upon e-wallets and digital tokens. According to the bill, the MAS will have the right to define which of the payment systems are important for the financial stability and take them under patronage.

Besides, all payment providers must obtain one of three licenses:
For “money-changers” – small providers to combat terrorism financing and money laundering;
“Standard payment institution license” for medium providers that operate over $3 million per month;
“Major payment institution” for larger payment providers.
The MAS has given cryptocurrency payment providers six months to comply with the new law. Providers that use fiat only have twelve months.

Blockchain-based boutique bank

Ping An Bank, a subsidiary of one of the largest players in the Chinese insurance market, announced the intention to launch a high-tech boutique bank.
A boutique bank differs from the traditional bank organization by restricted functionality providing just a short list of services.
Ping An Bank will launch a boutique bank using blockchain, cloud services, IoT, and big data. The bank will rely on the service platform named SAS.
It is expected that thanks to innovative technologies, the bank will be able to provide customers high-quality service including management of risks and capital, payment services, financing, and even marketing.

4  Other / Beginners & Help / Bitcoin and Euro: Exchange Rate History from the Very Beginning on: November 20, 2018, 10:46:08 AM
Almost 10 years ago, Bitcoin was introduced to the world. It got various reactions: some people did not take it seriously, others started investing. By now, it has become the most famous and expensive crypto coin. But what was it worth when it first appeared?

Short BTC history
It all started in 2008, when still unknown Satoshi Nakamoto created a domain and made a link to the coin’s paper public. A year later, in 2009, BTC was released as an open-source software. However, in 2009, BTC was not traded. Its trade and enlargement has started in 2010.

BTC in 2010

This year is a very known one in the BTC history, as the famous Bitcoin Pizza Day has originated at that time. Laszlo Hanyecz, the first buyer of a good with BTC, has paid 10.000 for two pizzas. At that time the spent amount was equal €31.

2011
The coin was just starting its growth in 2011. The average price was €0.7, however, in summer, the price has risen to €23 and then was followed by the first drop to €1.5.

2012
More companies were starting to accept BTC as a means of payment. The highest point in price was around €12, followed by decline to €5.8.

2013

It was the first year when the price for one coin varied significantly. With the lowest point of €52, it was rising to €100 and dropping back to €70. By the end of the year, BTC started to grow quickly, and on January 1st, 2014, its value was already €560.

2014

The year started with the cost growing more, with the maximum value of €647. However, the price did not stay at that point during the whole 2014 – by the end of the year, it has dropped to around €250 again.

2015
This year was pretty much calm for all BTC investors – the price stayed at around same point of €250. The changes have only started in November, with the value growing again. This time, the coin has reached almost €400 in the end of December.

2016
In 2016, BTC started to reach really high points. Being between €400 - €600 for the whole year, it has surprised everyone in December – the price was over €900.

2017
This year is probably considered the craziest one in BTC history. It has started with the coin having a price around €1000. In summer, the cost of 1 BTC has already reached the point of more than €2000, and by the beginning of fall it has been more than €3000.

The end of the year has shocked all investors and economists. In November, the price of 1 BTC was more than €7000, and in December it has reached a point of €16.800!

BTC in 2018

Despite the great increase in price, BTC did not stay at its maximum point for a long time. At the start of 2018, the price of one BTC was equal €11.751. Then, it has started decreasing to €9000, then to €7000, finally with the price fluctuating between €5000-6000 in Spring.

On July 18, the price of BTC is €6330. There are a lot of different predictions currently being made about BTC’s future both crash and rise. However, most of the experts talk about the BTC’s price increase again.

One of the specialists who stayed anonymous has even predicted BTC having a price of $280.000 (around €240.000) by 2023. However, only future will show if it comes true.

Four Fake Crypto Wallets Detected in Google Play Store
Malware researcher Lukas Stefanko has announced that he detected four fake crypto wallets in the Google Play Store. The apps were trying to steal users’ personal data.
The apps were presented as digital wallets for storing NEO and Tether, and as an extension for accessing ETH. Their aim was to steal users’ mobile banking credentials and credit card information.
According to Stefanko, the apps were created with the use of Drag-n-Drop app builder. It means that the creators didn’t have to have any coding knowledge. The analyst has reported the fake apps to the Google security team. By now, the wallets are already removed.

10  Other / Off-topic / Advertisement on Facebook on the topic of the blockbuster. How to be? on: July 19, 2018, 03:05:45 PM
Hello everyone, my company is engaged in holding conferences on the technology of implementing Blockchain in various areas. There are business pages on Facebook that have advertised about these conferences. At the moment (for the whole month) we were blocked on facebook because of the ban on advertising ISO, bitcoin, and they do not respond to my messages, I already wrote them. Silence in return. Tried to different ways of advertising - do not write in the announcement about the conference, only the picture with the inscription about the conference blockchain, all the same we were blocked. Someone knows how to bypass their system and continue advertising?

P.S. We start advertising in many places and in different social networks, but for a month of disabled facebook very much felt the damage. Facebook gave a lot of people who got on the site.
11  Other / Beginners & Help / ICO & IPO hybrid, crypto novelty in browser: news of world's blockchain industry on: July 16, 2018, 02:14:17 PM
How does Monsieur Bitcoin treat cryptocurrencies? How much did Ledger earn in 2017? Which crypto novelty was implemented in Opera browser? Learn about these and other news from the world of cryptocurrencies and blockchain that took place within the previous week in our weekly digest.

Monsieur Bitcoin Against Cryptocurrency Regulation

High-ranking French official, who previously served as French executive director of the IMF and World Bank, Jean-Pierre Landau said that direct regulation of cryptocurrencies can harm the entire crypto industry.

He published his opinion in a 107-page report. He believes that the regulation of cryptocurrencies cannot work for three reasons:

Excessively strict control of the state can ‘strangle’ the industry and slow down the blockchain development.
Lawmakers may not fully understand what exactly they are trying to regulate, so it is difficult to predict all the consequences of today's actions.
After facing a large number of regulatory mechanisms, blockchain companies can direct all their efforts to avoid rules rather than comply with them.
Crypto community called Jean-Pierre Landau ‘Monsieur Bitcoin’ for his reserved attitude to cryptocurrencies and comparison of crypto assets with a ‘tulip fever’.

ICO & IPO hybrid

Recently, the cryptocurrency world faced the first Initial Convertible Coin Offering (ICCO). It was announced by the blockchain company Palladium and the Bittrex exchange.
The ICCO will take place in the jurisdiction of Malta. The main feature of this event is that token holders will be able to exchange coins for Palladium shares at any time for three years.
According to the chairman Paolo Catalfamo, such a project is the first step in bridging a gap between traditional finances and crypto market.
“Our ICCO is a unique opportunity for institutional investors who are aware of the advantages of tokensales, but do not risk investing in them because of weak regulation of the sector. Thanks to Palladium, investors will be able to manage a portfolio of fiat and crypto assets and not to violate laws”, says Paolo Catalfamo.

Crypto wallet in browser

The popular Opera browser has got a built-in cryptocurrency wallet in the mobile version for Android. According to Opera Software, it is not a separate application, but a full-fledged wallet, which is installed in the browser. It was called Opera Crypto Wallet.

https://youtu.be/aVE0eHp7QA0
According to the developers, the wallet keys will be stored on the user's phone, and Android's mechanisms will be responsible for the security. Thanks to it there is no need to create new passwords or PIN codes. The wallet supports Ethereum and tokens on the ERC-20 and ERC-721 standards.

The wallet has an integration with the Coinbase crypto exchange, so that users will be able to purchase products from Opera Crypto Store directly through the wallet.

The first million
The French company Ledger said that it summed up the results of sales in 2017. It turned out that the number of hardware crypto wallets sold within the year exceeded one million. The company received €25 million net profit.

According to the Ledger’s President Pascal Gauthier, the company plans to start another round of financing in addition to the January one: then Ledger raised $75 million from venture capitalists. The company intends to expand the geography of sales, which includes 165 countries today.

13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Most Promising Cheap Cryptocurrencies to Buy: Top 5 on: July 13, 2018, 12:14:18 PM
Crypto market keeps attracting investors. The most popular crypto coin – Bitcoin – is considered to be the one to choose for successful investment which will bring desired profits. However, Bitcoin may not be the best crypto to invest in for everyone

This is not the reason to give up investing and forget about attractive profits. CoinMarketCap says there are 1628 cryptocurrencies at the market, and also don’t forget that new ones appear as well. There is a big variety to choose from but before, it is important to know the factors influencing the popularity and success of a digital currency.

What is your opinion?

In my news line got such a message -
The signal system was originally implemented in version 0.3.10 to alert all network clients about critical vulnerabilities or attacks. The system lasted until November 2016 and was abolished in version 0.13.10.
Previously it was believed that only the private key for system activation is owned by Satoshi Nakamoto, former Bitcoin Core developer Gavin Andresen and administrator of the forum bitcointalk.org Theymos.

[img https://www.smileexpo.eu/public/upload/news/blockchain_et_industrie_musicale_quels_sont_des_liens_entre__15293134824721_image.jpg /img]
