The Japanese community have built this photo sharing site, much like how Instagram works, but with added benefits of registering your ownership on the blockchain, receiving tips and also the option of charging a fee for a third party to use your content.

Its still a work in progress and expect more improvements to be added soon with translation added for the Japanese comments.

That is only one small part of the catapult system, NEM is the only blockchain that can talk between private and public blockchains.

I hold a few from back in the days of Silkcoin. These guys created a new blockchain and swapped everyones silkcoin for their new product.

This is one of the best stories ive seen in the crypto world where someone had helped the community of a scamcoin dumped by the original devs and give them a new investment opportunity from what they lost.

The two chains are Dyanmic and Sequence.

Dyanmic is based on DASH and has a similar masternode system.
I also see some significant improvements over DASH, so will be interesting if this project catches on.

Why do so many coins use a .io domain? Are they cheap or something?

ETH is a bloodbath right now, im staying clear of both until i can see who the clear winner will be.

I dont really even know what to think of ETH anyway, but on moral grounds i think ETC is the better fork.

There may be others, but im confident that the major players are in this list.

Ethereum is not on this list, because its already hit $1 Billion despite it dropping back under.

Is anyone else curious to see coins like Stability Shares (XSI) bump up on CMC to astronomical levels?

I held Stabilityshares for some time to the point it was worthless after the devs abandoned it for a second time.

Its unclear if chinese devs have taken over the project, but why do they choose to pump such dead coins ill never know.

I dumped mine after the first pump when they were at an all time high of 2c each.

Now they are all of a sudden 12c each!

Only problem is i could not sell them at this price if i had kept them, unless i could read chinese, as all these chinese exchanges are not in english! lol

Anyway the coin was removed from one of the last major "western" exchanges only the other week due to low volume.

Seems rather odd what is going on, but apparently its big news over in china! lol

YbCoin seems to be another coin that little is known about and look at the pump there.

Keen to know if others have a better idea on what is going on in china.

Seems they are all desperate to get their hands on any crypto they can.

I mined about 40K of the things shortly after launch, ended up dumping them for NXT.
I still think NXT is a better investment, but anyone know why the sharp rise?

After spending countless hours researching the majority of altcoins and other crypto projects i have come to the decision that NXT should come to the top in my books.

Too many crap coins with poor development, alot of promises and nothing to show for 1 year on, im not saying that all alts are crap, there are some very good projects out there, but most are lacking substance.

Hopefully CMC will be down to one page in 12  months time.

For now, do your research and HODL! 

Im wanting to buy some BTC today and am unsure if todays rise will be a quick spike and then fall back down again.

Im aware that the reason for the rise is that coinbase has set up a US exchange.

Ive mainly included the well known ones here and some of the bigger players in 2.0 currencies etc.

Ill add anything else you suggest below, and yes ive added some that i feel are doomed for failure, but know there is lots of support.

I was going to make this a poll, but thought open discussion would be better.

I dont consider 2.0 currencies such as NXT or NEM as a true altcoin, since they are rebuilt from the ground up, however i will include these in the discussion, as i feel such currencies have far more market potential than the majority of altcoins in windows Qt.

Also when i say "prevail" this doesnt necessarily mean that they will hit #1 in market cap, more like being in #2 or #3 to bitcoin.

In another 5 years how many coins will have survived?
Will the good, the bad and the ugly be finally sorted out?

I can see Dogecoin being around for some time, but am unsure of its future.
Any anon coins could very well be a thing of the past with technologies such as night trader and black halo coming to the surface.

Im guessing NXT has a very high chance of getting to #2 and staying there, i dont think litecoin will ever get back to the all time high it had 12 months ago and people will move their investments into coins that have more potential.

Im quite surprised how high Ripple has risen over the last month, ive never been too interested in it due to it being so centralised etc, I never thought that Ripple would reach 1c let alone 2.5c and still climbing.

If i invested it i would only have done so to have made a gain and then sold off.
Its hard to say whats driving up its price, but i dont see it staying this way for long, i will be surprised if this trend continues.

I hold both currently, but what one will have the most success?
