1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Is CoinMarketCap a scam? on: September 15, 2021, 11:32:58 AM
Iíve been using them for years, I know Binance owns themÖbut I canít understand why page 3 (starting at #201 Hex) has coins like Safemoon, that have a higher market cap than every coin on page 2Öbut is stuck on page 3.

Itís like they put a velvet rope at coin #201, and only some coins can pass beyond that, and others canít.

What is the explanation? Do you have to pay Binance to get past this velvet rope? Does someone at Binance try and decided whatís ďworthyĒ of being on the first two pages?
2  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / I need help, 10 factors that make Bitcoin decentralized. on: July 07, 2021, 11:57:59 AM
Iím working on a project, and I need input. I am trying to take every factor associated with Bitcoin/altcoins and rank them by ďhow decentralizedĒ they are. Bitcoin is the gold standard, but what quantifiable factors make it the most decentralized crypto? Iím looking for 10 (at least).

What makes a project decentralized:
1) Is the creator known? Yes or no
2) how are the coins distributed? (Obviously the less spread out, and fewer large bag holders the better)
3) number of full nodes being run? (The more the better)

Can more technical people help me come up with at least 10 factors? They have to be quantifiable.
3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Will Eth go below .05 BTC? on: June 26, 2021, 11:17:34 AM
I see no stopping it. Thatís the 200 MA on the daily.
Thoughts? Predictions?
4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / The notion that ďEthereum is a shitcoinĒ is passť in 2021. on: June 14, 2021, 12:04:50 AM
How can people like Max Keiser and Tone Veys still call Ethereum a shitcoin? I get all of ETHs flaws, but it is a working function product. Stablecoins are useful. DEXs are useful. These people are starting to sound like the Peter Shiffs of Bitcoin.

Wouldnít these people root for DEXs to succeed? They love that Bitcoin is decentralized, DEXs are certainly less centralized than Coinbase.

Can someone justify this to me? I donít get it.
5  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / how to transfer Ledger BTC to a new ledger wallet (anonymously) on: May 21, 2021, 10:04:09 PM
My friend has a Ledger wallet, and she wants to transfer the Bitcoin from a ledger wallet to a different ledger wallet (without a record of the transaction).

Is this possible in a SAFE way?

6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / LTC V BTC depressing! on: February 05, 2021, 12:47:49 PM
Litecoin may be doing ok against the USD, but it is so pathetically low against BTC. We are currently at .004 BTC per LTC. Will Litecoin continue to go the way of BCH? And continue to bleed satoshi value? Does anyone think there is a floor? Obviously this is speculation, Iím just curious on thoughts.
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Here is what I donít understand about DEFI? on: August 15, 2020, 11:59:05 AM
How can you loan money without trust? Background checks, credit history. I understand if someone uploads collateral like Bitcoin or Ethereum, But then why not just spend the bitcoin or Ethereum? Why take out a loan?

Is it simply to avoid paying capital gains?

Can someone please explain to me how DEFI could ever lend someone money for a mortgage?
8  Economy / Speculation / Why is Bitcoin volume so low? What effect on price? on: June 23, 2020, 11:07:08 PM
Bitcoin volume is extremely low right now. Itís still higher than the 2017 bull run but way down from March 2020 highs (im assuming that was the RONA Crash of 2020?)

What effect does this low volume have on price? I understand what it really does is allow bigger swings to happen as less money is needed to move the market.

Iím curious if anyone can give me some insight?
9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / I sold 32 Eth for Iím wanting those Eth back. Wait? on: May 18, 2020, 11:36:28 AM
I bought 32 ethereum in anticipation of eth 2.0, but I got tired of seeing the Satoshi value drop. So I sold it for .696 BTC. Now Iím FOMOing, because Iím thinking at some point Eth will take back off.

Should I get my 32Eth back? Wait? Or leave it in BTC and start buying Back my 32 Eth with fiat?

I guess what Iím saying, Eth is at $212 right you think we will see another dip below $200? Just curious thoughts.
10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Ethereum: Sinking ship or Sleeping Giant? on: December 25, 2019, 03:25:34 PM
Iíve been into Bitcoin since 2014. Itís always been my main thing, however Iíll admit I got swept up in the 2017 cycle and got burned on quite a few projects. I eventually consolidated back to 100% bitcoin.

Now I find myself in a situation where I really believe in Ethereum as the only other viable project. Iíve been accumulating Ether to the point where now Iím 80% BTC, 10% Eth and, 10% USDC (prepared to buy more BTC when the time is right).

Iím preparing for Eth 2.0 staking. I see all the Defi projects built on Eth. The stablecoins, the ecosystem. If Eth fell, it would bring a huge chunk of the crypto market down with it. So for this reason, I canít see ethereum really disappearing. Itís the only crypto that Iíve actually used (I bought something with USDC, an ERC-20 token).

That said, I am concerned about those stolen $100million in Eth. That can depress the value of Eth for years. Iím concerned about the constant hard forking, the constant delay of Eth 2.0, and the general amateurish feeling of the project. I hate that Vitalik, and the ethereum foundation dumped their bags on people at the ATH.

Part of me wants to just sell my Eth for BTC and not look back. Another part of me wants to keep buying Eth as it goes down.

Any intelligent insights on this forum? Not a pissing match, not a shitcoin shill session. Just honest feelings about Ethereum from other veterans in the space.
11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / If USDC is backed by USD, how does the $ get into the circle bank account? on: December 07, 2019, 07:05:40 PM
Perhaps this is a dumb question...but if I go onto Coinbase, or anywhere, and buy 1 USDC, how does the $1.00 USD I paid for it get into Cricles Bank account.  Audits show that Circle has 1 USD for every USDC, I'm just confused as to how that USD actually makes it from my bank account, to Circle's bank account?

Does circle decide who the fiat onramps (like Coinbase) are? And they have to buy the USDC from Circle consortium dollar for dollar?

Can someone enlighten me?
12  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / After years in this space...I am now a BTC/ETH maximalist (Both are important) on: December 03, 2019, 01:06:21 AM
I've been in this space since 2014. I have always been a Bitcoin Maximalist.  Than 2017 happened, and it was hard not to chase altcoins.  After the hype died down, and the dust settled, I realized that there is room to be a BITCOIN/ETHEREUM Maximalist.  Every other project is a "me too," or a clone, or redundant, or vaporware.  The only two blockchains we need right now are Bitcoin and Ethereum...and we need BOTH! Not just Bitcoin anymore.

I love Bitcoin...LOVE it!  But when it really comes down to it, I use Ethereum in actual, practical use cases.  I recently bought something in USDC...which utilizes Ethereum.  Stablescoins, ICOs, IEOs, SEOs, Defi will be built on Ethereum.

I have fallen in love with Ethereum as hard as Bitcoin, and I see value in both.  Ethereum is extremely elegant, and may end up being more important in this space than Bitcoin one day.  It is the foundation of the Defi movement.

So there can be a category of people who consider themselves BTC/ETH Maximalists.
13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Can CoinMarketCap default to BTC instead of USD? on: November 12, 2019, 04:36:30 PM
Simple question.  I would love to go to and have the default currency be BTC instead of USD.
Is this possible?
14  Economy / Speculation / Ascending Triangle...we are about to break bullish. 10.5K within a week. on: November 02, 2019, 11:38:33 PM
I believe within one week from today we will break bullish and reach 10.5K. Maybe higher.
Ascending triangle has formed. Letís see.

15  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Is there a way to set recurring BTC buys, without a lot of fees? on: September 28, 2019, 10:34:55 AM
Coinbase lets you set recurring buys of BTC (daily, weekly, monthly.) but their fees are ridiculous.
Coinbase Pro has much lower fees, but no ability to do this.

I want to dollar cost average in. Is there a way to use Coinbase Pro API to set recurring buys?
Or is there a better solution? (Doesnít have to be coinbase)

Can someone please give me some advice. Thanks.
16  Economy / Speculation / We are about to hit 8K and below...soon (see charts) on: September 04, 2019, 03:04:52 PM
Iím Back!!!
The Nostradamus of half-ass predictions.
This time...Iím using my whole ass!

Be very cautious people. We will see 8K within the next few weeks. Not by sept 5th. But soon.
Sentiment feels negative. This thing is breaking down soon...on its way back to 20K.

I am an amateur. I know less than any professional. Make no decisions based on this post. I only HODL.
But personally I was waiting to buy more sub 9K which I think is about to happen this month. Latest early OCT.

No way we are breaking positive from this descending triangle IMO.
17  Economy / Speculation / Huge drop happening within 48 hours! (Update: BTC Price on Sept 5th) on: August 27, 2019, 11:07:45 AM
Current price: $10,162
Prediction: huge correction within 48 hours (8K range)

Iíve been into BTC since 2014, and I am NOT a trader. I can read the charts somewhat. Every analyst is pointing out right now that there is a descending wedge, coiling price, and dropping volume. They are also claiming a symmetrical triangle. A lot of them are expecting a break to the upside because we are technically in a ďbull market.Ē

I firmly disagree. The sentiment right now is a little negative. After this huge run up I expect a break down to like 8K or lower.

I could be wrong, I hope Iím wrong. And Iím not willing to sell any bitcoin and take a chance.

But I think Iím right! (Letís see if this ages well?)

UPDATE 08.29.19
Ok, so I got the time frame, and direction...but it got to 9400, didnít quite get to the 8000k range.

NEXT PREDICTION: By September 5th...bitcoin will be between 8200-8600 range. I know itís a big range. But thatís still a huge drop from here.

(We will likely get close to 10K first. Possibly tomorrow or Saturday. May even get slightly over. But than crash down to 8200-8600 by 11:59PM sept 5)
18  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Ethereum 32 eth - does it matter? on: August 14, 2019, 08:51:35 PM
Iím hearing staking rewards will start at 32eth. I currently have 12 eth and all I do is watch it drop in Satoshi value. I can easily pickup 20 eth with roughly .3 of my bitcoin. Or average in as it goes down.

Seriously though. Should this even be a goal?

Alts are tanking so badly. Iím 92% bitcoin 8% alts. Not sure I want to change that.

One day eth will come back. But I hate to part with my BTC.

Is that even a good goal?
19  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Tone Vays has won me over: There is Bitcoin...and shitcoins. on: August 02, 2019, 05:02:00 PM
Perhaps itís the absolute slaughter of altcoins. But I feel like we were all blinded in 2017. I have 20,000 Cardano, and all I see it do is lose Satoshi value. I feel like Iíve had enough!!

I mean seriously. What is Cardano? It does nothing. Nobody uses it. Itís one of about a dozen protocols that will probably never be used and never be wanted.

Iím 85% bitcoin. Iím about to make that 100%. Everyone loves Cardano...really? Why! Itís just another shitcoin. They are all shitcoins!!
20  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Peter Schiff debate. Gold >> Bitcoin on: August 01, 2019, 05:34:59 PM
Iíve been into bitcoin since 2014. Iím a true believer. But Peter Schiff has some good points on the Crypto Trader debate from yesterday.

The main thing that really stuck in my mind was that gold has value outside of simply being a store of value. It can be used for jewelry, machines, etc. so because it has real world value, no matter what, it will have value. Someone will always need to pay $ for gold to use it for jewelry or computers.

Bitcoin on the other hand seems to only derive its value from what one person is willing to pay another for it. If one day the heard flocks to another crypto (ďflippeningĒ) bitcoin doesnít have any other use case and could be worth $0. You canít make jewelry or computer parts with it.

I have to say...I donít think Anthony Pampliano properly defended this point. Maybe someone can help I convince me that this was a good point??
