2  Other / Beginners & Help / Join the Randomizer and make some Bitcoins now! on: August 12, 2011, 07:43:41 PM
Please use this referral address to join up to the Randomizer http://rand.bitcat.ch/?ref=128

It's a great idea, all you have to do is transfer 0.5 Bitcoins to them and you get the chance to win random Bitcoins after every new member that signs up! So you could be earning $$$$'s of BTC in no time as there are still only 132 members. What happens is, every time a new member joins and pays their 0.5 Bitcoins joining up fee, most of that amount is re-distributed at random as donations to five other members. Everybody has an equal chance to win, and at this stage, you are bound to get plenty of money due to the low number of members. Plus, you get a cut out of the donations given to anybody you referred to Randomizer as well!...  Cool

3  Economy / Speculation / Price rise or fall this weekend? on: July 23, 2011, 12:19:09 AM
Well we're entering the weekend and the Gox price hasn't altered much over the last 24 hours, or even the last couple of days. So who's guess is it?.. Will it go up from this price on Saturday/Sunday or down? If you look at the wider picture over the last few days it's still rising!!
Who knows where it is going??
4  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Intriguing question about old addresses? on: July 19, 2011, 06:40:26 PM
Just thought I'd pose an intriguing question about old BTC addresses and what happens to them?
Supposing that someone, after a crash and losing their old BTC client and being unable to restore this goes and downloads another client, gets another address and starts sending to this client. Then one day, they accidentally send BTC to the old address and realise their mistake - where has their BTC just gone? i.e. down the drain or to another person? Is there someone somewhere profiteering somehow?
So what happens to the old address?
So somehow because the transaction has 'gone through', presumably there is only a record of it that can be accessed via block explorer and the client having failed to receive, the BTC has just 'disappeared' down a black hole?
5  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Bitcoin Shallow?? on: July 13, 2011, 03:22:44 PM
Huh Can someone tell me why the BTC on Mt. Gox is not moving from around 14 USD per BTC?

It currently has a high of 14.15051 and a low of 13.9.  Undecided Dull, to say the least.
6  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Mt. Gox flatiner...... on: July 09, 2011, 06:34:29 PM
By the title I don't mean to imply that it's dead or dying...far from it! However, we've been seeing mostly flatlining this past 48 hourss, with a couple of small bubbles? Can anyone tell me why? I am still a beginner to this, so I can't really tell what is causing this? Is it true prices always go down over the weekend, and then return in midweek?
Also, I guess how low will it go? is a good question... and what and when will be the next max! Gosh, if only I knew what the factors affecting prices were!  Grin
7  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Britcoin Login Problems? on: June 28, 2011, 11:10:16 AM
Is it just me or is everyone else having trouble logging into the Britcoin exchange site?

https://britcoin.co.uk/

After entering the pass and clicking on "Submit" it is forever looking like doing something, with the message at bottom reading,"waiting for britcoin.co.uk...."

 Huh Embarrassed

9  Other / Off-topic / Brit clientele on American BTC sites? on: June 24, 2011, 09:57:27 AM
Has anyone from the UK got an account at Tradehill / Mt. Gox and how did you manage to get your funds across there?!!

Also, is it worth it?!
10  Other / Off-topic / Forex trading? on: June 21, 2011, 03:35:34 PM
Has anybody else got into this, and did they find it useful to download the practice program? And what do they think of the real Forex trading??
I am considering at a future date, getting into that, but don't have a clue what it's all about. Thanks for any help!
11  Other / Beginners & Help / Bitcoin Application on: June 18, 2011, 08:14:44 AM
How to generate bitcoins with the application? According to this article I've pasted below, it is possible to generate bitcoins using the spare processing power when your computer is idle?
(Very slowly, of course)
But I don't see the option in my application when I go to Settings --> Options?

How do I get bitcoins?

You can download the Bitcoins application for Windows, Mac or Linux. There is nothing to configure; once installed the program automatically generates a bitcoins address for your account. You can get bitcoins either by selling goods and services for them, or by contributing CPU resources from your machine to the project, which are used to generate the cryptographic hashes the system is built on. Turn on Settings -> Generate Coins, and when your system is idle it will use your unused processor cycles to calculate hashes for the project. It takes a very long time to generate bitcoins this way, but it costs you nothing because your system was idle anyway.
12  Other / Beginners & Help / Still waiting for my first bitcoin! on: June 17, 2011, 03:53:34 PM
Well I'm still stuck here waiting to get my account verified at https://bitmarket.eu/
I have used my eBay name with over 4,000 feedback as my proof etc.. any idea on how long I will have to wait? Is the owner of bitmarket on here? As I believe this place was given as another source of reliable proof?.. It's a real pity, because I've tried Britcoin and it isn't working  Undecided failing login?? and I can't get the Dwolla account funded due to my location (UK) as it doesn't accept British pounds yet! Well I hope everybody from the UK signed the form on the Dwolla site which asks for you to give a message/reason why you would like the Dwolla to come to your country and I hope it spreads like PlayPal in the early days? And they keep the charge low and Paypoodle goes bust! Haha... well you can always dream can't you?
Please MR. BITMARKET verify me! Mr_Numismatty_Fine_Coins. I want some coins!  Grin
13  Other / Beginners & Help / Introductory post! on: June 15, 2011, 09:05:29 AM
Hi! I just wrote a post in the Spanish Forum as I could not see this one!

I got here eventually.

I am wanting to know if there is another place to exchange pounds for bitcoin i.e. a place like Britcoin, which isn't working right now as the login doesn't work and they won't reply to me via email.

If that doesn't work, then how do I go about getting some dollars on mt.gox, given that PayPoo won't work with them? That's where I have my other "stash"  Cheesy
