Pump and DumpPump and dump schemes appeared long before the cryptocurrency became popular. For example, in the past fraudsters relied on cold calls providing “inside” information about impending news. Sadly, the movie is based on a true story which took place in the late 80s and eventually led to Mr. Belfort’s downfall, “rewarding” him with a 22-month custodial sentence for his scheming.On October 23, 2017, Mr. Belfort in an interview with TheStreet(https://www.thestreet.com/story/14320657/1/pump-and-dump-schemes-jordan-belfort.html) said the type of crime that landed him in prison — are still around. “It still happens to this day,” he said. “People use the Internet more now and chat rooms — they talk stocks up.”Pump and dump schemes in crypto?Pump-and-dump schemes have been around for years, with scammers making a fortune while victims are left with nothing. The cryptocurrency marketplace isn’t immune. According to a report in the Wall Street Journal(https://www.wsj.com/graphics/cryptocurrency-schemes-generate-big-coin/), there are a lot of “PUMP&DUMP” chats/groups all over the internet, for example, the Big Pump Signal group, which was responsible for $825 million in trading activity over the course of the last six months, resulting in hundreds of millions of dollar in losses for those who fell for the scams.
According to the WSJ, such groups always announce the date and exchange for the pump, that lets the group participants to create a buying madness (FOMO effect) and quickly sell (Dump). That what happened to Cloakcoin, the price rose 50% to $5.77 on the stock market before falling almost a dollar after two minutes. In total, 6,700 transactions valued at $1.7 million were executed, compared with virtually no trading an hour before.
A pump-and-dump transfers money from those who jump on the hype-shuttle when they see the price of an asset gain momentum, to those who initiated the dump. This also makes the overnight repo rate on the Tilray really expensive, with the cost of financing a short position for Tilray shooting up to 370 percent, according to data from financial analytics firm S3 Partners LLC as of September 12.
Short-sellers then face a tough decision: Buy shares to close out their short positions at a loss, or hold on and risk even bigger losses. These situations and hype around new cannabis market make a favorable condition to manipulate the price
According to Finance Yahoo, the company’s U.S.-listed shares jumped 29 percent in the prior session (19.09.2018) with 19 million of the company’s 21.7 million floating shares exchanging hands. Then after the successful pump, a group of people or a company which invested large sums of money to buy a large amount of Tilray started to cash out because the coin became stable at its market cap for a while.
When the group of people who started the pump starts to back out from the coin, the prices start to go down slowly. Once they have gone all the way, to empty the prices of the coins decrease and this is where the actual dumps start. Pump and dump schemes are an illegal practice punishable by heavy SEC fines. The picture of Ethereum (ETH/USD) hasn’t changed even after the morning growth - the cryptocurrency returned to the consolidation area of the end of September / beginning of October, having regained its losses of last Thursday. The buyers global targets are the resistance level at $250 and the range of $300 - 320.
Bullish scenario: Today bulls will attack the upper border of the current area and the morning peak. Under favorable conditions, ethereum can move to the control price of $260.
Bearish scenario: The cryptocurrency will return to the level of Saturday-Sunday, completely losing the morning growth. The key level, in this case, is the $200 level.
Neutral scenario: A consolidation in the $210−235 range is expected.

U.S. stocks plunged to their worst loss in eight months on Wednesday as technology companies continued to drop. U.S. stocks dropped sharply on Wednesday as a massive selloff in the biggest tech stocks has driven markets this year. The Dow plunged 831 points, losing 3.15 percent of its value. It was the second-biggest drop of the year for the Dow, which on Feb. 5 lost over 1,100 points in a single trading session. A particularly sharp decline was observed in the high-tech sector: Amazon’s paper fell by 6.2% Apple — by 4.63% Netflix — by 8.4% Facebook — by 4.1% Alphabet — by 4.6% Microsoft-by 5.4%. Brad McMillan, chief investment officer at Commonwealth Financial Network, characterized the market’s decline as “normal volatility” and said stocks were “past due for a pullback.”

Nervousness had been building for days on Wall Street and here are some facts which caused the panic: ----US markets have a trade war edge over China, which is compounded by Hacked Supermicro Hardware Scandal — A major U.S. telecommunications company discovered manipulated hardware from Super Micro Computer Inc. in its network and removed it in August, fresh evidence of tampering in China of critical technology components bound for the U.S., according to a security expert working for the telecom company. ----The Impact of a FED Interest Rate Hike — The Fed has raised interest rates three times this year and is largely expected to hike once more before year-end. ----China holds $1.17 trillion of U.S. government debt- As the United States and China inch closer to a full-fledged trade war, economists and investors worry about worst-case scenarios that could impact the global economy — and America. “We don’t know who is to blame here; it’s a little like trying to find what or who is responsible for the dangerous hurricane in Florida today,” says Chris Rupkey, chief financial economist at MUFG, Tokyo-based global bank with offices in New York. “But make no mistake about it, the stock market decline, triggered perhaps by rising bond yields, is just as dangerous.”

If you are new or older to NLG read this for your own safety and do not say you have not been warned!!
NLG coin have hacked there own long term holders and back packers. You may ask me how we have come to such an allegation but I urge you to read on. We are not trolls but and are nothing else except for true crypto junkies who are fascinated the technology. These are based on findings of our experience over the entirety of the journey. In 2014 we read about NLG and found it to be a very interesting and innovative coin> we chucked a couple of mhs at it and timed the launch perfectly. We held since then and in the winter of 2014 we bought more coins to make a total of 101k coins. We then payed these funds from bitter to our NLG wallet, we then encrypted with a strong password and saved the wallet.dat file to usb, deleted the wallet as we were selling our miners on due to decrease in profitability and stored the files cold.
Over the last couple of years we have kept an eye on NLG and have thought that our coins are safe in stored cold on a usb sticks no probs, right??
October 2016 we checked coin market cap and saw the rise of NLG and we decided now would be time to get the coins from our wallet only to discover a balance stating 0.00 NLG. Not to mention but we were shocked with what and how it had happened. The wallet was safe, It was encrypted, locked. surly you can only get coins if you know the pass. Maybe someone did get lucky and managed to compromise us but then how, other things would be gone we have some select passwords and that particular wallet password leads to exchanges and some online wallets so why was that not compromised??
How is it even possible to get these coins out of the wallet when it is encrypted and to transfer them else where?
We contacted Gulden (NLG) immediately and they have said its impossible and that I must have been compromised. We decided to take a look around our selves and have indeed come up with some very significant findings including ann threads, email messages, where the coins have moved to from our wallet and the fact that there is something very fishy going on somewhere. Just say the fact that our coins are in an NLG users wallet and he has 2 million others also with a steady flow of transactions leading to this wallet.

This account is very active since some years. Also today it has already 12 Transactions. The account receives a amount of x and then few minutes later it sends same amount x to another account. In the history i also found the transaction which came from the last wallet where are also my Gulden inside:

Looks like a hacker is collecting since over 1 year coins and save them all in different wallets with 2 milliono gulden inside. Also he is active right now.

Conclusion of discussion with NLG emails are on hand if anybody wishes screenshots I have them all.
So if you have now followed the the message and may have checked the addresses you can follow exactly where the coins have gone. With the fact that there is proof of coins moving around from an encrypted wallet to some wallet out there is apparently impossible and NLG have basically sworn to that fact that it is 1 “impossible to hack an encrypted wallet” and 2. “there is no hacker and this account has nothing to do with our missing coins”. Not only have NLG been irresponsible but they are totally lying to the face of 2 guys who are not some rookies and I m sure many others.
To try to find out more information we have taken the time to look through almost every single page of the NLG ann threads new and old to try and find something. Our findings have been absolutely remarkable with the below screenshots I would like to show these findings with absolute proof of what is probably a couple of hundred wallets having been hacked and a company who has the responsibility to its users to keep them safe and all they are doing is shrugging their shoulders.
With the point of this I wish all people who have had posts deleted, coins stolen, have had contact with gulden and have been shrugged off by them to come forward with there issues. We are taking this to the press.
