1  Economy / Speculation / Next round of hype starts with this! on: April 12, 2013, 08:08:26 PM
Have you checked out the quasi announcement of the ASICMINER company?

You should - because it can reshape the public perception of bitcoin.
It will strengthen the perception as the currency of freedom.

Mining can be done with USB-sticks soon. First impression in the companys forum was:
"If this is gonna be sold en masse, you just militarized the user base"
"ASICMINER/bitfountain just stepped up from being a highly profitable mining company
to being an asset to the whole bitcoin community
as game changing hardware provider"

300mhas/s from USB - and likely on the market before anything BFL ships  Cheesy

2  Economy / Speculation / hindsight on: April 11, 2013, 04:48:42 PM
If you ask me, profittaking was important to some people.
Their hindsight will of course tell them that spend things
are gone.

Meanwhile it seems to have been a great few days for the distribution stage:

Their new ~bankbalance~ was more psychedelic than anything on
silk road and difficult to ignore ... just as the rape of the FED or your
local equivalent will be hard to ignore  Grin

4  Economy / Speculation / Medical Speculation on: March 06, 2013, 08:25:00 PM
The current herpes infection subtype "bitcoin" is spreading!
Once contracted you will become a livelong carrier
and its genetic information is stored in you neurons.
It will replicate and spread through you local community
if you allow for enough contact to happen.

As other subtypes of this virus it can form blisters often
described by the layperson as "bubbles".
As you doctor I inform you that in the current moment a
potential blister formation has been halted by a stopwall
at 50$. It acts like the substance acyclovir which
stops formation of blisters by halting replication and
will keep you skin intact.

I prescribe use of this ointment avaible in a pharmacy near
you under the tradename zovirax. Also several days of rest
and a healty diet and regular exercise.
5  Other / Off-topic / Colaborative Poem on: March 06, 2013, 04:18:47 PM
I'll start:

My hands are strong
and I hold coin
for I am long
to let you join
will hold them high
the bank i do defy!
6  Other / Politics & Society / Will the Armory come back if USA changes its weapon laws? on: December 18, 2012, 06:44:17 PM
Bitcoin - the classic case for freedom.

Say for example one of USA constitutional rights get thinned out by a pow-wow
of politicians and lawyer magic. Would you buy your leadthrower with bitcoins then?

As a person subject to the european warlords I have grown up used to being unarmed.
Have to say I had a interesting time with a G36 when the oppresive regime placed
my body into the defence cult of the conspiracy to uphold the oppresive regime.
Never liked sharp ammunition though. Didn't feel right to have it if I knew that not
everyone else had it, too.

Enough rambling, If i would be in USA I guess I would be helping to bring the Armory
back - just in case you know. Just in case like I hold coins cause I do not trust the banks
either.
If more people feel like that in the land of the fee (the taxed nation) I guess they should
consider holding enough coins to change to guns.

Praise Bob
7  Economy / Speculation / Europe decoupling from mtgox on: August 19, 2012, 06:58:28 PM
At the current moment with mtgox prices in the 7.80 Dollar range the cheapest bitcoin
that can be bought is at bitcoin.de is 7.89 Euro - the equivalent of 9.7 Dollar.

One might argue it is a to small exchange or not as liquid as mtgox or a great arbitrage opportunity.
To me personally it seems like these exchanges are a tidbit more rational and have decoupled
from mtgox as a pricemaker.

The need for coins as a crisis escape mechanism is certainly higher in Europe, especially
in Germany where the distrust in Greece as gone up tremendously. After Greece financed
their interest on Eurpean credits by taking more dept and pretending everything is OK
the technocrats of the developed world are wising up.

So if you can export those cheap coins to Germany. Euros are waiting for you.

8  Economy / Speculation / Are you selling into an orchestrated shakeout? on: August 17, 2012, 07:52:26 PM
Rampant panick sellers usually take the short end of the stick.

Shure the last days have transformed some of you into bears and might find
yourself in a stop loss position.

With recent price explosion plus the PS & T news it is easy for the seasoned
Bitcoiner to feel at home in a high volatility situation and scoop the coins out
of fresh tradesmen/women at a bargain.

9  Economy / Speculation / Substance to the Hype! on: August 17, 2012, 08:48:41 AM
Good morning fellow coiners.

Aside from the press attention we have been getting I was aware of precious little
In terms of substance. OK more users, a clear MCAD and a RSI screaming for release.

But then I found a add of something I have not seen discussed jet.

A game called Dragons Tale. It looks kind of like Second Life MMORG, but seems to
be basically the biggest casino you can imagine. And it only uses Bitcoin.

Is that newsworthy or what?

http://www.dragons.tl/

Disclaimer: I hold coins in long position. I am not affiliated with dragonstale and have not tested it myself yet.

11  Economy / Speculation / Was jump due to new Gawker SR article? on: July 17, 2012, 09:40:23 AM
I submit to you an article that was posted about 9 hours ago:

http://gawker.com/5926440/are-authorities-closing-in-on-the-online-drug-market-silk-road

while this article sports a good amount of FUD it is still possible that we are right now
riding the waves of a Gawker Media Pump and Dump attempt. I certainly will not put it past them.

12  Economy / Currency exchange / 1.5% over exchange with moneybookers 1x small amount on: July 12, 2012, 05:55:16 PM
I would like to buy bitcoin for 67.94 EURO and pay with moneybookers\skrill

I am willing to pay up to 1.5% over exchange cause I only have a silver account
on bitcoin.de and cannot use moneybookers anymore.
Time is somewhat important because i want some of the new cognitive GLBSE shares that
will be offered.

I think my forum record speaks for itself and I expect someone with similar postcount or more.

Please PM

13  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / How connected are you? on: June 27, 2012, 03:23:03 PM

14  Economy / Trading Discussion / GLBSE - DOWN on: June 25, 2012, 09:38:45 AM
I report the GLBSE down.

 Huh Huh Huh

anybody knows anything?
15  Economy / Speculation / GOX and Bitcointalk was down - official FUD topic on: February 21, 2012, 10:18:19 AM
Woke up this morning and both Gox and bitcointalk where down.

I found on freenode mtgoxlivechat
"[09:50] <@MagicalTux> back soon-ishg"

?before! anyone else could get in again there was a 9.1k and 4.8k dump

And I ask

what was wrong?

EDIT: bitcointalk is hosted by mtgox. This can explain why they went down simultaneously, but not why.
makes you seriously wonder about bitcointalks independence.

I consider myself a huge fan of both pages and invite magicaltux to use this opportunity to address what
happend.
Thumbs up for the quick recovery.

16  Economy / Speculation / And another shake on: January 16, 2012, 03:59:39 PM
- to keep the price stable?Huh?

edit:

or to ask for more financial support for the project?
8k moved out
7k cought another 7k to stabilize
followed by onther several k buy.

The graphs are not detailed enough.

17  Economy / Speculation / Estimate the true amount of resistence around 7-7.25 on: January 11, 2012, 06:04:42 PM
What would a prudent guess of the true resistence
@ 6.90 - 7.25 be like?

2-3 times visible amount? More ? Less ?

If passing the resistence point fails again are we in for another round below 6?

For me the market is really a bit hot now. Really would hate to burn my fingers.

18  Economy / Speculation / Why was there a spike up before the selloff? on: January 09, 2012, 08:10:35 PM
What I still do not understand is the reason for the spike up to 7.2 just before the spike down
that caused the selloff.

Does someone have an idea?
19  Other / Off-topic / You wouldn't ... on: January 08, 2012, 12:24:07 PM

Oh yes I would

And with Bitcoin I finally did  Grin

20  Bitcoin / Project Development / Article links that could be bitcoin related so we can leave Bitcoin comments on: January 02, 2012, 04:15:34 PM
One way of getting public attention is to post comments about bitcoin in places where bitcoin should have been mentioned
but for some reason was not.

That way people can find out about it in the comment section. The more bitcoin comments the better.

example:

http://www.wired.com/magazine/2011/12/st_essay_globalcurrency/

leave bitcoin related comments.
