1  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / dual 6950 rig having OC issues - downclocks when on: July 08, 2011, 10:05:53 PM
I have an annoying problem.  I have an HIS 6950 not unlocked that has a dummy plug connected to it and an unlocked MSI 6950 that only can handle a slight OC.

I can run the HIS at ~ 900mHz but it drops it's OC when I shut off the display hooked up to the other card going back to 800 Mhz and loosing a solid 35 MHa.  I am OCing both cards with MSI Afterburner and the program still shows the setting as 899 but the GPU speed on the graph is only 800.   Driver is 11.6, OS is Win7 x64 using the latest GUI miner.

Any ideas?

2  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Anyone else having issues with 69xx and 58xx on same Win7 x64 system? on: July 03, 2011, 05:00:25 PM
These cards are driving me nuts.  After a lot of fudding around I get the system to boot fine and have both cards working.  Then something causes a crash and the thing is retarded.  It only intitializes one card, the 6950 in slot 2 regarldess of the fact that the it goes all the way through to the starting windows screen on the 5830.

Yesterday it was booting fine with the 5830 initializing after the starting windows screen.  I am using this PC as an HTPC so I want to keep one GPU mining while watching movies and the other one mines too when I am not.  Obviously I'd prefer to have the 6950 as the 24/7 miner.

My temps are marginal when mining at ~ 80 on both cards so that may lead to a crash.  I am not OC'ing them too much.  I am about to give up and try 2 6950s in one machine and the 5830 by itself on this computer.

AMD's drivers have been doing all sorts of weird things on this machine with the graphics cards, most notably losing sound through the HDMI when sitting idle for a while.  Uninstalling didn't seem to help either.

I know it's a shot in the dark, but has anyone experience similar annoyances with mutli GPU family setups?
3  Economy / Trading Discussion / What causes these fliers? on: June 27, 2011, 09:35:21 PM

Is this a graphing glitch perhaps from a rounding error or is there actually an errant trade that happens at that pricepoint?  The order book is not light enough to allow a legitimate trade at those prices.

Does anyone have an idea?
4  Economy / Trading Discussion / The "I have all mt BTC in Mt.Gox" Have it, or do they? on: June 21, 2011, 03:30:40 AM
Discuss....

How does the tradehill uptrend relate to the actual market?

Is it due to the promised Mt.Gox 17.5 price (which is silly to assume as solid) or is it just reasonable caution knowing that the market won't flex it's muscles until Mt.Gox reopens?  Do we all somehow know a BTC is now worth more than 13 USD for sure?

This shit is so unpredictable... I fucking love it!
5  Economy / Trading Discussion / C'mon Tradehill Open up or give us an update on: June 20, 2011, 02:43:49 PM
Sorry for the frustrated post, but I am at the airport hoping to be able to access the market before I go dark.  It is clear that they did not open up 42 minutes ago, so why not post an update so we know whether or not we can be involved in the chaos that is likely to ensue. Huh
