4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / 1700W for Six 7950's? on: February 03, 2014, 04:55:16 AM
I am running this setup:

Intel Celeron G1620
32GB SSD
4GB DDR3
ASrock PRO BTC 81
Cougar 1000W PSU
Cooler Master 700W PSU
6 - 7950 (Powercolor, Sapphire, 2 GB WF3, XFX, His IceQ)

I know, I know, I should've bought the same cards, but this was my first rig so I didn't know how much of a hassle diff. cards would be. For my 2nd rig I got 6 Sapphire 7950s. Anyways, I am a little worried though.

I have 4 7950's on the 1000W and 2 7950's on the 700W, the 700W also powers the mobo. I am bit concerned about the 1000W psu not handling the 4 7950's, do you think two 850W would be better? I just don't want to keep buying stuff since I just finally after weeks of testing got the rig running.

These cards are not really OC'd right now, they are running at 17/18 I and most are at 1000/1250 clocks. I think most cards are 1.25v but 1 or 2 might be 1.09v.

Here's a pic:

They have been running for more than 4 hours now..

6  Economy / Computer hardware / [WTB] 4 Unpowered x1 to x16 Risers on: January 21, 2014, 04:17:58 PM
Looking for 4 unpowered x1 to x16 risers for my H81 Pro BTC Mobo, preferably greater than 19cm (7in) in length. I'm in the midwest USA.

7  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Does the H81/H61 Pro BTC Need Powered Risers? on: January 21, 2014, 05:46:25 AM
I keep seeing mixed answers to this question. One blog says using unpowered risers still won't work even though the mobo has 2 4 pin molex connectors, however, others have said you shouldnt use any powered at all?

Is it safe to say if I want to run 6 7950 GPUs maybe I should use 3 powered and 3 unpowered?

Thanks

9  Bitcoin / Mining / How long have you run cgminer without crashing for? on: January 03, 2014, 04:29:55 AM
I've just started mining and have been OC'ing most of my cards using winter air cooling in MI. I can't seem to get the cgminer running for more than 6 hours at a time. I have reset everything to default values and got up to 1 day 5 hrs before one of my Powercolor 7950's went sick....

How long have you guys been able to keep cgminer on for before crashing? Is it common to have to restart the miner every day or hours?

I have 5 7950s on a MSI Z77A GD65.
10  Economy / Computer hardware / [WTB] 3 Powered Risers on: December 24, 2013, 07:33:50 PM
Looking for:

QTY 2 -  x1 to x16 Powered

Can pay in BTC or PayPal (although I prefer paypal since I bought BTC at $1200 and now its $650... Cry)
11  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Do unpowered risers not work in x1 slots? on: December 21, 2013, 09:57:30 PM
Here are my specs:

Mobo - MSI Z77A-GD65
PSU - Rosewill Xtreme 850W (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817182072)
RAM - 4GB DDR3
CPU - Intel Celeron G1610 Ivy Bridge
GPU1: Gigabyte WF3 7950
GPU2: Gigabyte WF3 7950
GPU3: XFX Double D 7950
GPU4: Powercolor 7950

I am only using the first 3 GPU's due to the fact my 2nd Thermaltake 750W PSU hasn't arrived yet..

I managed to get all 3 GPU's working on the PCIE x16 slots. I then added a x1 to x16 UNPOWERED riser to the first x1 slot (the WF3), and left the other 2 GPUs on the first 2 x16 slots, and it turned the computer on for a split second and shutoff. Then I couldn't even press the power button to turn on anymore, I had to turn off the PSU, remove all the cards, then insert one card at a time for it to work.

The x1 to x16 unpowered riser I have works if I only use 2 cards (one WF3 and one XFX DD). If I add the 3rd WF3 card it shorts the PC I think.

When I use a POWERED x1 to x16 riser all 3 cards work. Does this mean that x1 slots can only work with powered risers?

17  Economy / Services / WTB - Looking to Hire a Programmer to Integrate Bitcoins to My Site on: July 25, 2011, 06:50:57 PM
Hi,

I want to develop a new website that uses bitcoins instead of paypal/merchant (credit card) payments. The site is not up/running nor can I elaborate on the idea here, but basically I will offer a service online and will charge a small fee in bitcoin.

I have the script ready, but I don't know how to integrate bitcoin with the whole thing instead of paypal/credit cards/etc.

Please PM me or post here your details/experience/contact info.

I have Skype/MSN/Gtalk and am online almost always, thanks.
