21  Economy / Services / iPhone/Android app dev for CANADIAN merchant payment processing site on: November 06, 2014, 09:05:08 PM
I have recently launched a Canadian "brick and mortar" exchange/payment processor for the Canadian market and would like to enhance our offerings to the merchants by providing them with an app for them to use to accept the payments and transactions.

There will be future work as we have a couple other implementations down the road.  But the application build will be our first priority.  Doesn't have to be anything fancy but very functional.

Limited budget but you get what you pay for.   Please provide me with working examples of your work and rough costs or questions you may have.

Thanks in advance...

22  Economy / Service Discussion / Pulling bitcoin prices from exchanges on: September 19, 2014, 05:57:28 AM
Interested in incorporating a live price (or most current) price of either BTC-E/Bitstamp or Coinbase.  I know they have an API - would the one to incorporate would be the PHP one?  I would insert this in a Joomla site.

23  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Bitcoin Network Security. What do you think of this? on: September 10, 2014, 07:29:30 PM
Bitcoin reaches more popularity over time.   Banks start to feel the pressure.  Somehow banks develop a relationship with North American ISPs to start traffic shaping Bitcoin confirmation/mining/processing traffic.   Think this is possible?   That would put a dent in the Bitcoin network as far as transaction processing/confirmations go.  Thoughts?
24  Economy / Speculation / Here we are 24 hours after the Braintree/PayPal news.... on: September 09, 2014, 07:22:11 PM
And.... many on the troll box were saying - WAIT 8 HOURS and you will see moon shot from all the "great news" and multiple degrees of separation.   Look at the price... Currently DOWN ($472) from yesterday ($475).

Let's be honest.  That was not huge news.  Plus - how many degrees of separation do we need?  Sign up on Coinbase - then signup on braintree - download the app - pay with paypal... like what in the actual?

Anyway.... Just as I suspected.  Price did not move - it in fact went down.  Best comment I read yesterday was - "PayPal featuring Bitcoin in their app commercial.  I'm not sure if Bitcoin can handle any more good news right now without imploding."

25  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / This is news about Braintree ***NOT*** PayPal/eBay. Let's not forget that. on: September 08, 2014, 06:22:50 PM
This looks like Braintree news.. Nothing in relation to PayPal/eBay.  This will allow merchants to accept Bitcoin payments via their mobile app..... FYI - let's not get too excited about this.
26  Economy / Service Discussion / PayPal + Bitcoin announcement today? on: September 08, 2014, 05:33:18 PM
Do you think Bitcoin can take this news?  Will we see the price go down another $50 today?  What happened to all the speculators that were saying that 2014 will be a "TO THE MOON" year back over $1,000/BTC.

I think at the end of the day this will create more awareness and adoption but that's about it.  We have had TONS of good news over the past few months and look at where the price is at.  Could it be because of Coinbase/Bitpay cashing out to direct FIAT?  What about the miners?

Thoughts.... GO!
27  Economy / Service Discussion / North American Bitcoiners & brick and mortar stores on: September 05, 2014, 07:14:23 PM
Where do you spend your bitcoins in brick and mortar stores?  Where would you like to see some places offer it?

28  Bitcoin / Mining / Renting bare metal miners from a company (month to month) on: September 04, 2014, 08:54:17 PM
Somewhat like IaaS (Infrastructure as a service) - Where you would pay a monthly fee to rent a unit (IE. Spondoolies SP30).  This would differ from "cloud based mining".  Essentially do a factory reset on the device and give the customer the management IP address/webconsole/ssh info and have them set it up to whatever pool they wish/etc.

Thoughts?  Would you be interested in something like this?  Curious to find out....

Cheers
29  Economy / Trading Discussion / Bitcoin & RSI on: September 02, 2014, 05:46:25 PM
Could someone on here chime in and provide some insight how they used RSI in regards to BTC/crypto trading?

Any other tips or websites to help understand or techniques would be appreciated.

Cheers
30  Bitcoin / Mining / Network bandwidth utilization of mining on: September 02, 2014, 12:01:17 AM
I have not run any base line tests but would be interested in what other people have seen out in the wild.  Looking at finding out how much bandwidth say 5 TH/s will consume in a month on average?   Thanks in advance.
31  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / What mining calculator do you use? on: August 27, 2014, 04:36:43 PM
I am looking to calculate 6TH/s and would like to know the revenue/expenses.   I have tried a few and don't think they are displaying correct information.   Thanks in advance.
32  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Who is a Bitcoin consultant/business integrator/point of sale integrator ? on: August 26, 2014, 06:20:42 PM
Interested to find out who is a consultant.  A champion.  A person who makes awareness or helps out businesses with accepting Bitcoin or something of the such?   Would be interested in hearing the responses.

33  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Spondooles SP30 & SP31 on: August 20, 2014, 07:32:46 PM
So what are your thoughts on these guys?  I just ordered two SP31's that will provide 5.5TH/s per device.    11TH/s total.   Think these things will be totally obsolete in the next 6-8 months?

34  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Latest miners? What are you using? What's good? What to stay away from? on: August 12, 2014, 08:13:40 PM
Looking at getting some heavy duty ASICs.   GAWMiners looks pretty decent.   Anybody have any recommendations and what hash rates they are getting and how much they have invested so far?   Looking to put in anywhere from $5,000 to $12,000.   Obviously with difficulty and what not this is not expected to be a get rich quick scheme.  I am well aware of that.

Thanks in advance,

35  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / How many people use BTC for real life gift cards? on: March 20, 2014, 07:20:49 PM
I am interested in finding out who actively uses services like this?    If so what denomination and from what box store?   Thanks in advance

36  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Question about wallet management on: March 14, 2014, 06:49:45 PM
Hello;

I am wondering how I can export the "private key".  I thought it was just best practice to:

1) password protect wallet
2) export wallet file and save it offline or cloud storage

FINISHED?

If someone could add some more value/insight that would be preferred.

Thanks

37  Economy / Service Discussion / Analysis of the leaked MTGOX Database on: March 12, 2014, 08:12:51 PM
It looks like Mark may have possibly bankrupted MTGOX due to "insider trading".   Check it out and form your opinions.
