82  Other / Politics & Society / American investment banker dies fighting in Ukraine on: August 26, 2014, 09:50:29 PM

The only American known to have joined a volunteer unit within the Ukrainian military, fighting the anti-government forces in the country’s east, has been killed in action, authorities confirm.

The killed fighter is Mark Paslawsky, a New York-born 55-year-old investment banker and US army veteran who took Ukrainian citizenship just before joining the Donbas battalion - a volunteer unit fighting alongside Kiev troops - in April. He adopted codename ‘Franko’ there.
http://rt.com/news/181780-american-ukraine-dies-battle/

Franko was previously criticizing the war saying many of the men in the sent into the ATO were unarmed (sounds like the Tsar's army in WW1) and they had to ride around in buses.  There shouldn't be a shortage of weapons in Ukraine as there are stockpiles from WW2 and the Coldwar.  How hard is it to get a truck and weld some steel plate on top like the Americans did with their Humvees in Iraq?

It seems to be this could be like Nationalist China or South Vietnam.  No incentive to burn up your troops or use your equipment stores if the Americans keep on sending you money and supplies.  I'm starting to think the ATO is just a way for the Ukrainian Government to get freebies from NATO and to get accelerated into NATO and Europe.

83  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / The anonymity war is over. No one won. It is now the asset arms race. on: August 24, 2014, 07:44:20 AM
The reason all the anonymity coins have dropped in value is because all the smart pump money has moved onto to asset coins like BitsharesX and NXT.  Things will be more interesting where, in six months from now, there will probably be at least a dozen "asset coins" with their individual token improvements on the concept.    Roll Eyes

85  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Is Vitalik withdrawing 1000s of BTC? only to put them back into Ethereum?! Scam? on: August 20, 2014, 04:41:45 PM
Vitalik has been withdrawing 1000s of BTC before the IPO has ended.  Taking out BTC before an IPO is over is breaking a golden self-regulated rule among crypto IPOs.  If someone else tried moving out funds during an IPO they would be accused of stealing the funds or self-feeding into the IPO to get more coins for themselves and to inflate the capitalization.

So I talked to Ethereum.. they basically told me that they are not interested in a partnership..  and that they felt that this announcement of a partnership was shady.

Need proof?  Comes from Ethereum core coder:

Ethereum turns down BitShares.  Bitshares feels toyed and taken advantage of by Vitalik.

From their official forum.  Total supply is 100 billion.

Stellar sits on a 97 billion premine
Stripe sits on a 2 billion premine

Number 3 - 10 is not clarified, quite likely they are insiders of Stellar-Stripe who assigned themselves tens of millions of Stellar.  Alternative explanation is these are wallets belonging to professional blackhat hackers who were able to use thousands of Facebook accounts to acquire millions of Stellar at a time when each Facebook account was given 10K Stellar without verification.

How many people still think Stellar is a good buy?  You only get thousands from signing up and you're buying 10K-100K when there's Stellar-Stripe ("SS") sitting on billions and then individuals who already own 10+ million.

How the mighty have fallen.  Mastercoin was the same people who were spamming social media and had a few rich people cough up six figures.  People who invested into Mastercoin would had made way more money buying Dogecoin.
92  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Newest Pump of the month: Suckerberg Coins on: August 10, 2014, 11:02:15 PM
Suckerberg Coins, copywrighting coins which spam social media, are the current fad of the month / pump of the month.  Previously it was anonymity coins, then Mint / Vert and before then country coins.

Get in the Stellar and Ethereum pump before it ends!   Don't be left holding the bag like the earlier Suckerberg Coins like Mastercoin and Maidsafe!

93  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Does anyone else ignore coin threads that contain "PoW" ? on: August 07, 2014, 08:39:54 AM
I sure have and haven't regretted it since making the decision.  New PoW coins all seem to die as they get dumped by the professional miners (the hardware kings) who are more concerned about short term profit than long term holding.

It could be possible as CfB is from Belarus and maybe the two were conversing in Russian, which may explain why CfB never made the discussion logs public?   Grin

Not saying it is a bad thing.  If he was really BCnext then he would be a good public face, but obviously most crypto developers try to remain anonymous to avoid the securities law.  But the understanding here is that a lot of websites reporting him as being the founder of NxT is a misprint (he's the creator of SAE which is a different thing).

95  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Not enough people were buying Ripple so they rebranded it on: August 05, 2014, 05:05:46 AM
Now it's called Stellar.  Founded by the founder of Ripple.  He didn't leave, it's two feet belonging to the same creature.  They're in it together.  Smiley  This is like WWE (wrestling) but crypto currencies - a 8 year old thinks it's real but a full grown adult doesn't.

Ripple division of Stellar has 5 billion coins it can dump at any time, while public only has 300 million split between 85,000 Facebook accounts (many of which are sockpuppets of professional blackhat hackers who own thousands of accounts through scrypting and macros).

85,000 people 'claimed' Stellar and yet their forum is dead and they have almost no presence on the internet?  Lmfao!  That's because 98% of claimants are with fake facebook accounts.   Smiley

Now they only give out 100-300 Stellar to each person (real or sockpuppet) while they have 5 billion coins they can dump at any time.

It's a 99.7% premine at the moment. Total supply is 100 billion coins but that's only if millions use stellar.

So tradeable supply right now is only 5.3 billion, of which 5 billion of that is owned by Stellar / Stripe team.

5 billion / 5.3 billion = 94.3% control of all tradeable stellar.  This is a scam.  They can manipulate prices so easy.

Stellar controls 99.7 billion of 100 billion total Stellar in existence.  Only 300 million has been "given away" and they lied about sending people $10, they sent a lot of people amounts under $10.  Many people right now are reporting to only 100s or no stellar at all (lol!).

This is the best scam in 2014.  Who knew Bitcointalk was a charity?  This is the wild west.  Nobody goes to jail over these scams.   Smiley

You guys just made some instant millionaires in California. Smiley
96  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / How is stellar not a scam? on: August 05, 2014, 01:10:46 AM
Let's look at the facts

- Wants to distribute to millions of people (meanwhile Bitcoin only has 1 to 2 million people.  Freebies of $10 and obscure advertisement won't be enough to attract those users)

- 94.9% lockup.  If only thousands or tens of thousands sign up for Stellar then 94.9%+ of the total coin supply is locked up.  It's bloated capitalization like Ripple's 97% premine and Aurora before the air drop.

- That means the tradeable coins consist of the 3% developer premine and the 2% venture capitalist premine..  while the rest are literal crumbs.   That means they control 99.8% of the tradeable coins (it is worse than Ripple) and can manipulate prices.

Forget about the $3 million venture capitalist.  It's a Ripple Fork and the $3 million is no different than Maidsafe and other ponzi schemes ran by wealthy investors who think throwing bags of money at a coin will attract subsequent bags of money.

Forget about the 'free' Stellar..  who cares about a free $10 when these people own 99.8% of tradeable coins.  You make your $10 (flip for $100 if lucky), while they pocket $100 million by selling on the exchanges.  Fair distribution indeed.   Cheesy

Kremlin frantically fighting separatism in Russia. March for trying to block the federalization of Siberia, which will be held on August 17 in Novosibirsk. General Prosecutor's Office has already blocked the page in FB and VKontakte about this event, as well as many other resources. Organizers called traitors, propagandony received contracts for fighting against supporters of March. By the way, disappeared from the lexicon zombokanalov definition of federalization supporters in eastern Ukraine. Now they militias.
Prepares crackdown on activists who hung out in Kaliningrad German flag over the building of the FSB. They arrested and autumn begins tribunal.
I have repeatedly said that the war with Ukraine will lead to the growth of centrifugal tendencies and separatism in Russia. Boomerang always comes back.
I have repeatedly said that the unity of the country, a key task for all patriots of the country. Federalism save Russia and vertical thieves destroy it.
So what the heck Kremlin supports separatists in eastern Ukraine?? Russia wants to break up?

Protests in St. Petersburg and people calling for federalization in Siberia.  Seems like if Putin sends his armies into Europe he might face a coup de'tat in his own backyard.

Interesting thing about Siberia, you might think it is Russia, is that it is not that much Russian.  Siberia was mainly populated by Cossacks (who are split between Ukrainians and Southern Russians) and then there were enough Ukrainian migrants in recent generations that wide areas of Siberia and the Far East were called "Green Ukraine".

100  Other / Politics & Society / US Military and CIA officers leading ISIS in Iraq? on: July 22, 2014, 09:47:53 AM

Major Jim Grant served in Afghanistan and he and his team often went "native" as per the picture above.   It's a long tradition going back to Lawrence of Arabia who posed as an Arab and led all the Arabs to fight the Turks.  There's no magical DNA thingy which stops you from dressing up like an Afghan or an Arab.

This is in compared to a lot of photos I have seen about ISIS which feature white men.  You might say they are Chechens or Tajiks but I've read testimony months ago from Iraqis in Mosul who said these guys could neither speak Arabic or Chechen or couldn't identify the language the men were talking in.

Guy on the left may as well be Sylvester Stallone (Rocky Movies), the guy in the middle Nick Frost (Shaun of the Dead) and the guy on the far right Damian Lewis (Band of Brothers / Homeland).    Looks like they rounded up a bunch of white guys from America or England and sent them into Iraq to lead the insurgency.

110% sure this guy is from Florida or Alabama.

I'm running on the theory that the Sauds and the West are financing the Sunni Rebels (ISIS) and even sending in advisors / officers from America and Britain to lead them.  Might explain why a bunch of Toyotas (pickup trucks) have been defeating Iraqi tanks and seizing entire military bases and airfields.

The west and the Sauds are afraid of Iran and the Shiites.  Iran (Shiite) controls Hezbollah and Syria as proxies and is said to control most of Iraq.  The West is responding now by leading a Sunni insurgency.
