1  Economy / Goods / Dell R815 : 4x Opteron 6380 Each on: September 24, 2020, 06:55:21 PM
I have 35 total of these guys. 31 of them are in perfect working order. 1 of them throws an error code but I was still using it. 3 of them have other issues and I couldn't use them.

They go for pretty good money on e-bay still but I don't want to sell them one at a time... all of the 32 units I was running have memory and a 300GB HGST hard drive with Linux installed. It's a bit older version of Linux so will say 56-cores. Installing the new version shows all 64-cores.

I would prefer to sell them all to one person. I am willing to sell them pretty cheap. 425 each... $14,875 total.

It costs me around 850 each to buy them, add the memory, and hard drives. Selling for half.

2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Monero Mining : Getting Read for Fork Question on: November 05, 2019, 11:50:15 AM
Hey guys,

Does anyone know off hand... if I can set up all my CPUs to mine Monero NOW and if XMRIG / the pool will automatically detect the switch to RandomX ?

Or... do I need to sit beside my computers waiting on the switch to flip, haha!

I have 100+ smaller CPUs and 30+ quad CPU servers that I would need to flip over... so I am hoping for the easy solution.
3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / WebChain : Nice profit on: September 13, 2018, 01:24:27 AM
Hey guys,

I am currently the biggest single hasher for Webchain.

Income is quite good... it's about 80% of $ per day as kH of power* vs. 50% or so on Monero / 40% on XTL (I also do both of these with much less hash-rate). It's a variation on the CN algo.

CPU mining is quite effective... also has AMD GPU miner (not super great... but it usually works) and nVidia miner (little better). GPUs have even less advantage over CPUs as the GPU miners reject quite a few shares so accepted hash-rate isn't as good as something like Monero*.

Hope to bring some more attention to the coin hence sharing the info.

* -- I am going off ACCEPTED hash-rate on the pool side for the 80% profit figure... the miner reports quite a bit more on GPUs but I just ignore that and look at pool-side.
