1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Theta - thoughts on it's prospects? on: July 31, 2022, 09:32:21 PM
I don't know much about Theta coin. I gather they are partnering with Sony?
Think it will do well in the next couple of years? (price wise compared to other popular crypto)
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / LUNC 1.2% burn per transaction = is this true or lies? on: July 19, 2022, 05:55:31 PM
It sounds like a good idea. Lord knows Lunc needs burning  Roll Eyes

Apparently it's currently burning on a testnet due to go live next month.
Is this true? Or is it just shillers shilling... or trolls trolling?

Also very importantly - are the coins traded on CEX included in the 1.2% burn? if not then this is just going to flop.

Could you provide a trustworthy source please?

Cheers,
TG
3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Unbound (UNB)- thoughts on this coin? on: July 16, 2022, 02:42:42 PM
Hey.
Someone recommended this coin to me. I am sceptical.
It has a total supply of 10Billion. Yet only 9% of it is in circulation and its 96% down from its ATH in December 2021.

I'm sceptical of any altcoin that got released at the top of the bull run. (They almost all are riding the hype and taking advantage of peoples greed to sell them shitcoins)

I'm not really sure what i make of the idea behind the project either.
From CoinmarketCap:
"Unbound Finance is the first-ever debt-free liquidity provision system. Unbound achieves this by building a derivative layer on top of Automated Market Makers (AMMs) such as Uniswap, Balancer, Mooniswap, Bancor, Curve.fi, etc, unlocking locked liquidity from existing AMM pools and giving loans on existing Liquidity Pool Tokens (LPTs) as collateral.

The Unbound Protocol charges no interest and it's liquidation Free."

It currently has a flexible APR loan rate of 25% at Kucoin. (pretty damn high for a flexible / not staking) Which makes me wonder - why do they want people to buy it?

Someone told me it is 100x potential.... but... I don't trust them at all. They pretty much make exclusively bad calls...

What're your thoughts on this project? Scam? or does it have potential?
Thanks, TG
4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Which Cryptos are ISO20022 compliant? on: July 09, 2022, 12:05:23 PM
Going to be important this, I have a hunch.

What do you guys think, is this an important FA to consider with crypto projects?
Also - which projects are ISO20022 compliant, I only know of a couple.

Thanks. TG
5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Vechain - VET. How are the fundamentals looking behind this coin? on: April 19, 2022, 10:47:18 AM
Hello everyone. Hope you're well.

I just searched bitcointalk for both 'vet' and 'vechain'. Vechain appears not to have been mentioned on this forum since 2018. (unless I can't operate the search engine properly)

That seems strange to me, I had heard good things from a few traders in the past about Vechains prospects..
Do you think it's a good project? Is the development active and progressing? Could it be a good potential investment for the medium / long-term?

Thankyou very much for your thoughts.

6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Is Syscoin a shitcoin? on: May 30, 2021, 04:12:45 PM
I like the sound of this project. It seems good. Good team, Good product.
But I mean the  chart.... not so good. Highly rekt against BTC.

Fundamentals seem worthy.
But it double topped with it's USD ATH from 2017. --- Just like Litecoin ^^

What do you reckon about Syscoin? Think it'll make gains in satoshi from where it currently stands?
I can't decide if it's a Gem, irrelevant or a scam.
Please weigh in. I want to invest in this but seems half people think it's a scam/shit coin and other half believe.
Volume is shite. that much is certain.

7  Economy / Speculation / I like the chances of BTC breaking up from this. on: May 26, 2021, 11:36:17 AM
Channel looks pretty legit to me.

8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Chance of Major Alts creating ATHs in satoshi? on: May 25, 2021, 09:49:57 PM
Cardano got more than half way there recently.
What do you reckon the chances are that the Major altcoins set new ATHs against Bitcoin - sometime in the future?
9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Bullish long term on ETH-BTC? on: May 25, 2021, 09:27:50 PM
Eth has made considerabley less % against satoshi in the last few months compared to ADA and BNB.

Is it undervalued against BTC? I'm wondering whether to get some.
10  Economy / Speculation / Bitcoin is so far just following TA. Why so much panic. Thoughts on bounce area? on: May 17, 2021, 09:30:00 AM
Wedge target met. Bounced from bottom of channel.

If it drops out of the channel where do you suspect it to bounce?
Let's stick to the TA. Forget about Elon Musk - there is always news. always fud. The charts don't lie however.
11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / LTC or TRX? to have most potential from here (15/05/2021) on: May 15, 2021, 02:40:01 PM
Hi, so about LTC.
It's been an underperformer this bull run. It's BTC pairing has not performed as well as other top Alts. It's dropped out of the top 10 to #12

TRX - also an underperformer. It's BTC pairing hasn't even hit it's 2020 high, let alone 2019.
Meanwhile ADA/BTC and ETH/BTC are up at their 2018 levels.

Both TRX+LTC had a golden cross on the daily (50 crossing 200) within the last few weeks.
TRX has daily resistance according to my TA at *255sats, but it has been trying to break this resistance for 40 days and hasn't rejected very hard yet which seems bullish.

----
Personally LTC seems a bit redundant... it doesn't have much love it seems to me.
Which would you invest in out of the two at current prices?
Thanks
12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / ADA USDT pumping while bitcoin dumping.? on: May 13, 2021, 06:08:58 PM
What's going on here?

Not only is the ADA-BTC pair 20% up today but ADA is up in dollar value, while BTC is down by about -18%.
Very weird.
BTC.D hasn't really changed from it's very low spot despite the dump. strange market.

Think ADA-BTC and a few other BTC-Alt pairs will continue to pump? Alts seem very strong currently.
13  Economy / Trading Discussion / Can you help me with the Math of R/R ratio when taking profit on the way? on: May 13, 2021, 11:31:57 AM
Hi,
I am really struggling with this and I'm alright at maths.. but I can't get my head around it.
I'm trying to figure out an easy way to recalculate the R/R of a trade when taking profit at various levels.

So for example. You have a 3R trade. (3Gain -1lose)
What happens if instead of taking 100% profit at the target of '3' gain.
What happens if you for instance; take 25% off your position at '2R' gain and 75% off at '3R'.?

So then you no longer have a 3R trade, you now to my estimate have a 2.75R trade.
But is there a math equation I can use to acuratley calculate this?
It'd be more straight forward if you only had two targets. 50% take profit at each. Then you could use the average of those two sells to calculate your R.
(For instance 50% at 2R and 50% at 3R = 2.5R upon closing the trade 100%)
But if you have multiple take profit levels, say: TP1 -15%, TP2-25%, TP3-40%  e.t.c e.t.c
Then how do you calculate this? in terms of R?
Do you add the Rs all together and divide by the amount of take profit levels - but this doesn't factor in the different percentages taken at each TP level.

What a headache. Cheesy
Thanks
14  Economy / Service Discussion / Is BTC.D messed up on tradingview for anyone else? on: May 13, 2021, 09:01:50 AM
I have a really nice chart, but it's missing half the candles lol.
My BTC.D goes back as far as january the 1st 2020. on the daily.

16  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Worried my Trezor, could have been tampered with. (Reset can help?) on: July 15, 2020, 03:51:26 PM
Hello,
I bought my Trezor online some years back. (it's the original not the new one)

For a long time I have been worrying - what if the seller, tampered with it before sending it to me.
 {it was an authorized seller~ from memory}

I've never stored much crypto on it due to this concern. While I've not had any problems so far, I also haven't put enough worth stealing on it yet.
------

Is this a valid worry, is it technically possible to receive a device with the equivalent of a key-logger or something in it? Or maybe a pre-made duplicate ?
I seem to remember that when you use the device for the first time - it generates a new and unique set of mnemonic passwords - to transfer ownership of the device.
So surely someone else couldn't have access to these backup pharses/mnemomics unless they had physical access to my device/menomic phrases? As they were created; after I created them, and weren't present before I hit the 'create' button..{or started it for the first time e.t.c}

Just getting a bit paranoid...
Would re-booting / resetting my Trezor to default and starting with a new set of mnemomics remove any chance of the above?

Thanks.

17  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Dash, ETC and Zcash ---- See these going up in value? on: July 26, 2019, 03:00:36 PM
Hi,

I'm looking for some coins in the top 30 on coinmarket cap to trade medium term.

Three coins I know very little about, but have been around for some time are; Dash, ETC and Zcash
I never hear anyone talking about Dash or ETC, I even read someone saying ETC was a dead project?. I know Zcash is considered one of the better privacy coins - But privacy coins have not been doing very well lately.

Do you see these coins rising in value against BTC in the next 6 months or so? I know there are safer bets, mainly ones in the top 10.
Thanks

18  Economy / Trading Discussion / When Binance bans Americans - Will the low liquidity cause flash crashes? on: July 14, 2019, 12:09:50 PM
Hey,
I trade solely at Binance.
It's a real PITA them banning the USA as most of the volume for Altcoins comes from the USA.

So - my concern is that there will be major flash crashes in about 6 weeks time, due to the low-liquidity.
Also, any word on where all the Americans will go after Binance?
Haven't heard of a concrete replacement to fill the gap yet.

19  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Which Alt-Coins will survive the Binance exodus and the new USA regulations? on: July 13, 2019, 08:47:41 PM
Hello,
I've recently decided to start trading alt-coins to dollars.

My concern is; that a lot of the alt-coins, especially the 's***coins' are going to vanish along with Binance.
My reasons for thinking this are;

1,) The vast majority of alt-coins are traded on Binance, and the vast majority of Binance users are American.
2,) Only certain coins are 'permitted' in America. (I've yet to read up on this)

But, If only certain alt coins will be permitted to buy/trade in the U.S.A - and the majority of alt-coin traders are American.
Then surely the 'non-USA-Approved' altcoins will die?
--

So far, I have the Coinbase list. There's a few of the top coins there, and some lesser coins.
Does anyone have a more comprehensive list of USA allowed coins?

Also, does any of this above carry weight / hold true? Have I got this right, that a lot of the alt-coins won't survive the Binance/USA exodus?
20  Economy / Trading Discussion / Can someone explain to me why my stops did not trigger? on: June 27, 2019, 09:33:21 AM
Hi there,

I was holding BTC on Bybit and Bitmex exchange.
I rode it up from about 9k, to 14k,
I wasn't using leverage, just holding.

I set a short stop-loss at 13300 for 1x my portfolio value in BTC/Dollars.
So, I had about 0.2BTC and I set a stop for about 0.195 BTC in order to hedge my dollar value against the crash (which happened ofc)

However, My stoploss was 'rejected'. On both exchanges.
I have no idea why.
I did not have 'close on trigger' selected as this would have understandably rejected my order on execution as it would have reduced my position from 0 to -$2800 (which would have been adding a position not closing one - Is that correct?)

So, as a result of my stops not triggering. I didn't lock in any profit from that rise and am back where i started... same amount of BTC but no extra $$ value, and no hedge.
What did I do wrong? or did both exchanges screw me?
I've been talking to other traders and it appears the stops didn't work for many of them last night.

I'm really annoyed, and I can't work out what I did wrong. Should I have used 2x leverage with my stop-sell, to account for any slippage and me not having enough margin? I'm so confused.
Please advise.
Regards,
TG
