4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Cryptopia own called dotcoin good investment? on: January 10, 2018, 12:37:25 PM
I was recently bummed for missing the opportunity to invest in both BINANCE and Kucoin, was actively researching for a good exchange to invest in. Cryptopia is not the biggest exchange but is an old and realiable exchange that has been in the market for a while. It’s the best exchange to buy obscure coins that are not readily available in bigger exchange such as bittrex and binance. Ultimately this longtail strategy will be enough for cryptopia to create a unique niche for itself in the market.

I was surprised to find that dotcoin is actually cryptopias exchange coin, also valued around $20 mil marketcap presently I was surprised it’s valued so low comparing binance and kucoin both are above the billion dollar cap.
I have decided to take a small position in dotcoin, I believe this coin is undervalued right now. Most exchanges including cryptopia itself are not accepting new members as they are not able to handle the market demand. This is a very positive sign for all exchanges and thier respective coins but especially so for smaller exchange coins like dotcoin that could easily quadruple in value over the coming months.

This is my present view of the coin, I want to invest more but am hesitant to put all my eggs in one basket and am trying to further research the coin before investing further.

Any opinion from you guys about this coin, both good and bad aspects and interesting facts about the project please share.

6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Investing in decentralized exchanges on: January 07, 2018, 11:07:13 AM
Decentralized exchanges should ultimately become the norm in cryptocurrency trading. It does not require kyc, is not centralized, your funds can’t be controlled by the exchange and probably a lot harder for hackers to steal and governments can’t regulate it. Having said that why has dex exchanges not overtaken centralized exchanges like bittrex or poloniex yet? What are the issues that is limiting growth. Also who are the main contenders in this field, which exchange will be the first to overtake centralized exchanges. I am thinking of investing in decentralized exchanges but can’t decide which one will be the best to invest in.

1. Kybernetwork
2. 0x
3. Etherdelta ico
4.NVO
5.flypme
6.airswap

Are they any other decentralized exchanges , most of these are only for ERC 20 tokens, is there a decentralized exchange that offers all blockchain based plus dag based coins , with high liquidity and ease of use.
Basically I am looking for a decentralized exchange that has the same user friendliness and variety and volume of bittrex and binance.

Please share your views and recommendations for decentralized exchange.
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Pascalcoin the next xrb potentially? on: January 02, 2018, 07:25:24 PM
I am becoming convinced pascalcoin is severely underrated at the moment. A coin that has a deletable blockchain that can essentially scale without limit and a needing 0 confirmation for transaction to be confirmed can be great for retail adoption. It’s one of the few lowcap project that I feel the market has yet to value properly. Should be a top ten coins  in my opinion.

What are your thoughts about pascal, do you agree or disagree?
8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Pascal coin why is it not popular? on: January 02, 2018, 11:56:11 AM
I have recently noticed pascalcoin and read a bit about the coin and it’s history. I was amazed that most of the features that are discussed like pruning the blockchain, having visa like transaction speed and low fees are already achieved by pascal coin, it reminded me of rai blocks and how it was unrecognized for a long time.
I am confused why such an innovative coin has not risen or gained popularity? Could it be because of the need to get an account number which can only be mined or bought ? Or could it be it’s merged mined with ethereum that’s causing the price to stay stagnant?

What are your thoughts on pascalcoin. Personally I feel pascalcoin is a sleeper coin that can gain traction really fast as awareness spreads about it.
9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Coins worth following below 1 million marketcap on: June 17, 2017, 12:12:03 PM
Hi guys I want to diversify my portfolio of coins. Right now all my coins are pretty well known like zcash lisk ethereum zcoin and factom. I want to invest in a very small market cap coin below 1 million. Is there any projects worth investigating below 1 million marketcap with good dev and unique idea?

A quick pointer will make it a lot easier to research as there are more than 800 coins which makes it pretty hard to study every one of them. I like hush but currently it is over a million so does not fit my criteria.

Thanks
10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / What is the ideal portfolio for coins? on: June 15, 2017, 12:23:39 PM
I am sure we all believe cryptocurrency as an industry will keep growing in the near future. It's very risky to hold just one or two coin in such a volatile environment. Diversification is a must to preserve value and hedge against risk however too much diversification may lead to low returns. Investing in bluechip coins such as bitcoin and ethereum is always good but the chances of seeing 20-30 times return is also less. Microcap coins will most likely fail but when occasionally when it succeeds it can make you rich. Midcap coins over 100 mil are a compromise between these two extremes.

As of right now I am invested in bitcoin and ethereum for about 40% of my portfolio 30% of my holding is in byteball lisk Aragon and zcash are which are all above 100 million marketcap and as far as I can tell they are good projects with good growth potential.30% of my holdings in small cap coins such as zcoin synereo and lbry. I am not sure if it's worth buying microcap coins which are less than 1 million marketcap.

So what are your opinion on the number of coins to hold in a portfolio and what types of coins are you guys holding.
11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Best Small marketcap privacy coins on: June 08, 2017, 11:52:08 AM
I have been investing in small market cap privacy coins hoping they might grow to where monero and zcash are at right now.
I hold a little Navcoin, Zcoin , spectrecoin and am now thinking buying a little zen.

Guys which of these or any other small marketcap privacy coins have the best chance to grow big.
Please let us know the coin and your reason for buying or mining it.

Also are these coins overpriced currently because three of these coins were below 5 million market cap just two months ago.
12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Ethereum domain names why so expensive? on: June 02, 2017, 04:07:25 PM
Why are ethereum.eth domain names so expensive ?  Huh Why is there such a land grad. Does it actually have any value. I was trying to register a few names but could not get a single name I wanted. Granted I bidded only .02 eth per name but mine were fairly simple names. Can't believe people are bidding thousands of eth on a domain name, is it really worth that much. E.g. Ethereum.eth sold for more than 1200 eth  Huh Am I missing something here.
13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Why do all altcoins move in value similarly regardless on: June 01, 2017, 06:47:18 AM
Why do all altcoins increase in value or decrease together regardless of the quality of the coin. Is the market controlled by a few giant whales who plays the market according to there whims? Price movement of almost all coins are similar even up to hourly trading price movements. Is it people just behaving like sheeps or market manipulation.
14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / MobileGo ICO opinion needed on: April 22, 2017, 12:14:02 PM

15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Altcoins not based on blockchain tech on: April 18, 2017, 09:39:22 PM
Byteball & iota are not blockchain based right, so technically do they qualify as altcoin. Are they any better than coins based on blockchain or just different?
16  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / What's the future for altcoins? on: April 16, 2017, 10:55:20 PM
Hundreds of altcoins with new ones being created everyday, it's becoming increasingly confusing for average guys like myself to invest in . Surely most of these coins, maybe 99% of these coins will be dead in a few years. Only a few could be truly unicorns from this deluge of shitcoins, how can we as investors take an educated bet on a coin. What real benefit do any of these coins bring to the world? Why do we need a coin like matchpool, a token for decentralized dating  Huh Why do we need so many privacy coins monero, zcash , zcoin etc? Why do we need country coins like aurora solely for use in one country. Dogecoin and rare Pepes  Huh

What I want to know is simply what type of coin serve a real need in this world like bitcoin? Will it be Utility coin like factom, social media coin like synereo, platform coin like ethereum, privacy coins like zcash? Gaming coins like 1st blood or none of them provide enough of a benefit to be a success in the long run due to clones completely saturating the market or blockchain technology itself being overly hyped. What is the ideal use case of blockchain tech and do any of the existing coins provide it?

18  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Waves vs ethereum vs omni on: March 26, 2017, 02:40:56 PM
Can anyone please explain the difference between ethereum vs waves and Omni. Marketcap wise there is no comparison but other than that what are the difference. How is ethereum better than there two other platforms and others that are in the market.

Also is waves second in this market or some other coin. Omni seems similar with tether maidsafe and synereo using it it but don't know why it is so undervalued.

Some clearification would be appreciated.
