1  Other / Off-topic / how much sleep? - behavioural traits of billionaires.. on: December 03, 2018, 02:28:53 PM
Below is an article about Jeff Bezos and his daily sleep and work routine... How much of this applies to us mere mortals who have to work daily jobs and maintain a family... one problem I have with the chart below is how long my son should be sleeping... its impractical as a working parent to have my son, collected from nursery, fed, little playtime, etc and the recommended 11-14 hours sleep..what are we to do?

Quote
A TYPICAL BILLIONAIRE'S DAILY ROUTINE: The strict schedule of the world's most successful, wealthy and stress-free people - including waking at 5am and taking at LEAST an hour for lunch
The world's most successful and wealthy people seemingly have it all - and their key to achieving and maintaining it is extremely simple.

Emma Tynan, who coaches millionaires at emmatynan.com, has researched extensively into the daily routines of the world's most successful entrepreneurs.

She discovered that they thrive on daily ritual and routine as a way of maintaining high levels of productivity, while at the same time keeping space in their lives for what's really important, such as family time, meditation and good quality sleep.

These practices, she says, work - provided you are consistent and practice them daily. Here she shares what a day in the life of a billionaire looks like - and it's incredibly simple to emulate.

One of the reasons highly successful people meditate is that it makes you more productive. Research shows that by training yourself to resist urges you can improve your relationships, increase your performance and dependability.

Billionaire Tony Robbins refers to his daily meditation or mindset practice as Priming, a ritual that involves powerful and directed breathing and movement to centre yourself so that you're primed for whatever the day brings.

Highly successful people read every day. Billionaires like Mark Zuckerberg, Bill gates and Warren Buffett devote many hours a day to reading for learning purposes.

THE DAILY ROUTINE

5am: Wake up

5:30am: Exercise

6am: Meditate

6:30am: Read

7am: Breakfast

8am: Start work

1pm: Lunch (for at least one hour)

6pm: Leave work

11pm: Sleep

A recent survey found that only 11 per cent of wealthy people read for entertainment purposes. At least 85 per cent read two books a month for learning or educational purposes. If you read for 30 minutes a day you will be doing what the top 1 per cent do.

7am: Breakfast

We all know that breakfast is the most important meal of the day; it increases mental alertness, regulates blood sugar and helps to reduce sugar cravings. Richard Branson starts his day with a fruit salad and granola.

'No one would ever mistake me for an expert on engines, but I know one thing: They don't work without fuel,' says billionaire Oprah Winfrey. Our bodies are the same way, which is why I'm passionate about breakfast.'

8am: Start work

1pm: Lunch (for at least one hour)

Taking a proper lunch break is something that many highly successful people have in common. They recognise the importance of a proper break for efficiency.

If you're in meetings and reading emails all morning, straining your eyes and getting a migraine is just not an option for these individuals. The same goes for your concentration - taking a restorative break will improve your concentration levels for the rest of the day.

6pm: Leave work

From my research, billionaires have highly scheduled lives. That's what helps them achieve all that they do, as well as have time for family. That means leaving work at work, so when they are at home they are fully present.

'My day ends when I'm tired and ready to go home… There is always more to be done, more that should be done, always more than can be done,' says Intel founder and former CEO, Andy Grove, who always left the office at 6:30pm every day no matter what was happening.

11pm: Sleep

'Sleep your way to the top', according to Arianna Huffington. She advocates sleeping eight hours a night, as well as banning all electronics from the bedroom. This eliminates the temptation to check work emails in the middle of the night, which can lead to insomnia and stress.

Billionaire Bill Gates likes to get seven hours sleep a night, as well as reading before bed. 'I read an hour almost every night. It's part of falling asleep,' he says.

Getting more sleep can enhance your creativity, ingenuity, confidence, leadership, and decision-making ability.

2  Other / Serious discussion / Why are all the MVP's CRAPPY? on: October 31, 2018, 01:31:14 PM
I'm just wondering why to date none of the ICOs which raised huge amounts of money have have quality MVP's? are they exit scams, do they not care about UX/UI usability?

Anybody care to shed some light on the issue?
3  Other / Off-topic / Retro gaming - who's into it? on: October 25, 2018, 12:36:48 PM
It seems to be all the vogue right now to want to play older retro consoles, I myself miss my NEO GEO MVS, Sam Coupe sinclair, C64, CPS2 arcade boards.

I wonder if anybody else here is reminiscing on the old gaming machines of this period.. what is it that draws is to them.. is it a simpler time in our lives?
4  Other / Off-topic / I still miss my AMIGA 2000 on: October 23, 2018, 11:27:36 AM
Growing up, I loved playing amiga games and trying to code in AMOS.
I still miss my Amiga days..should I just give it up.. and stop reminiscing on the past.. or are these 'new' Amigas worth the investment? anybody else miss the simpler days of computers.. now I'm thinking about my old C64! and the magazines we would buy to code your own games..

Maybe im not missing the technology of the past but the process which has disappeared of buying a magazine and spending a good few hours coding the game or app which they included in the magazine..

anybody else feel the same way?
5  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Strippers set the bar, in regards to network confirmations.. on: October 17, 2018, 10:23:12 AM
Last night I was in a strip club having a few little freaky private dances and I decided to ask the stripper if she accepted bitcoin? she laughed and said I wasn't the first person to ask that.. then she said.. I won't accept any currency which takes longer than my song to confirm on the network.. (a strippers song is typically 4mins) she then asked if I had any tokens on the lightening network? I told her no I don't believe in centralisation... in the end I paid in CASH.  Roll Eyes
6  Other / Politics & Society / Any form of Deviance.. Thought Police (Thinkpol) on: October 16, 2018, 12:47:24 PM
Technologically we are getting to a stage now where any form of sexual deviance, societal deviance and the criminal mindset can be observed via brain scans..and other supporting research and data.

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5711964/

IF we can observe such societal deviance should we enforce ways in which to rehabilitate members of society who we feel suffer from such conditions.

My only problem is with this is the problem that until a crime is committed, until a person has made that decision to act upon their sexual degenerate desires aren't we just being as bad as Orwells thought police?

For Example: -

"Pedophilia is a psychiatric disorder in which an adult or older adolescent experiences a primary or exclusive sexual attraction to prepubescent children."

- the definition here means that they are attracted to children, they have yet to commit; or act upon their sexual indulgences.. how should society see fit to deal with these people when they have yet to make the conscious decision to act upon their impulses.. the definition clearly states they are already 'pedophiles'

Some sexual lifestyle choices today used to be defined as a mental illness back in 1973, and its proven that LGBT people are more prone to mental illness than heterosexual counterparts, Should we imply from these findings that these people should also have their behaviour and actions questionably monitored?

I think in the distant future we will be able IF society chooses it to have a conscious hive mind which will allow for us all to see each others personalities shared amongst our peers, it will be a pre-warning for mental illnesses, sexual deviancy and criminal behaviour.. will this be a good thing? will it shape society for the better..?

7  Other / Off-topic / DNA 3D PRINTER!! on: October 15, 2018, 10:49:50 AM
I was wondering there are so many planets we believe have the ability to harbour life... Why can't we create a 3D printer to form simple DNA structures; and shoot it towards a planet light years away.. so that once it finally does reach a plant with the capacity to harbour life.. we land in the water, 3D print some simple DNA structures..and over time these cells mutate and form species off our DNA and hope that life evolves with our DNA on a very distant planet.. it won't be us exactly but it give us piece of mind we started life somewhere else in the universe.. and who knows maybe in a million years+ they could come seek us out!

I wanted to know if anybody knew... if you jump around and hope from 1 country to another for 180 days MAX does it mean you won't have to pay tax on cashing out large amounts of bitcoin? as you're not defined to be a resident of any country..?
9  Other / Off-topic / blake2b why? on: October 12, 2018, 11:58:51 AM
Can anybody explain to me why this hashing algorithm is only used in crypto for storage tokens such as, SIA, HYPERSPACE etc..
I would love to know technically why its not implemented for POW tokens in various other forms..

10  Other / Politics & Society / Pseudoscience is Modern Medicine on: October 09, 2018, 11:51:16 AM
Anybody notice how Pseudoscience and the medical industry have many shared values and ideas...

Perhaps we should stop regulating bodies like the FDA having such loose regulation...

11  Other / Off-topic / Bitcoin conventions... on: October 09, 2018, 10:31:03 AM
Im really curious what other people think, but my own personal opinion is that these blockchain bitcoin conventions are overhyped over priced amateur meet-ups..

I don't like the fact they are asking for such large amounts of money for attending a blockchain or bitcoin convention...
I believe it does nothing for the community, the projects which are trying to gain an audience.. and I generally feel if somebody attends a blockchain event which charges more than 50$ a ticket.. people are just screaming this is a bubble! For some of the prices these tickets are I could have seen all the legends of rock and pop, not that I would have wanted to.. just a price comparison.

Phil Collins Tour - 40$+ per ticket

Eric Clapton Tour - 60$+ per ticket

ZZ TOP - 73$+ per ticket

Manchester United Tickets 250$+ per ticket

Consensus 2000$+ per ticket

Blockchain Expo 250$+ per ticket

Honey badger Riga 300$+ per ticket

12  Other / Off-topic / Had a weird dream two nights ago.. on: October 08, 2018, 08:55:07 AM
The other day I had the weirdest dream I could ever fathom.

In the dream I was existing in 3 realities at once.. the first reality was at home with 1 girl.. ,the second reality was at home with another girl.. and the third reality I was in a warehouse being chased by a lion.. For some reason the girls from the two other realities were there with me but they looked different from the first and second reality... thru these two girls in the third reality I was able communicate with the girls in their realities to convince the two girls to look out for me that I'm in a 3rd reality where I'm being chased by a lion.. and to make sure I don't smash myself into a wall...

Weird.. anybody else ever had a dream existing within a few realties?
13  Other / Politics & Society / GAI (General Artificial Intelligence) will it include Emotional Intelligence? on: October 08, 2018, 08:47:35 AM
I'm just curious peoples thoughts I know we are racing towards AI in a big way these days.. But Ive never seen anybody discuss giving AI emotional intelligence?! does GAI consist of emotional intelligence too? Is giving AI emotional intelligence a better thing for humanity or would be worse off?

14  Other / Off-topic / Solving scalability means accepting hybrid/decentralised models.. on: October 05, 2018, 02:09:43 PM
I don't believe so far we have found a truly decentralised solution to the blockchain. Hybrid / Decentralised models seem to be the best fit for typical use cases. Having a decentralised model, for store of value is perfectly ok, its small data which typically won't require the transmission of a lot of data or code; but for typical day to day use of a blockchain we want to send messages, send values and store data.. for this I think we need a suitable hybrid model.. we see this more and more with lightening networks, and master nodes, but maybe the solution is decentralised chains for value, messages and hybrid chains for big data which won't cost lots in gas. For example; when I go to buy a coffee, why can't my wallet look at where I'm purchasing the coffee and reasonably think 'hey this guy is buying coffee its not required to be a private transmission' let's use a hybrid/decentralised chain for this transaction which is faster.

I was thinking that blockchains should be a platform which intelligently switch between various chains depending on who, where and why we are doing the transactions to fix issues with scalability, ease of use, and lower costs.

15  Other / Off-topic / Should Nuclear Waste should be mandatory to blockchain.. on: October 02, 2018, 10:19:53 AM
I was watching a documentary a few years ago about finland's Onkalo Nuclear Waste Repository.. its pretty scary that the nuclear waste at that repository has to be stored in a hole in the ground for 100,000 years.. Should such logistical data about the nuclear waste, the amount globally be stored on some global government blockchain?
16  Other / Off-topic / What to do while your trading bot isn't trading? on: October 02, 2018, 09:50:45 AM
I'm kinda not sure what to do while my trading bot isn't trading, as it brought 3BTC of altcoins and its holding them all but its not selling as there isn't a profit.. im paying for AWS server space and everything.. what do we do whilst waiting for the markets to return holding bags of shitcoins?
17  Other / Off-topic / Apple Computer, Will they eventually drop Intel?... on: October 02, 2018, 08:39:01 AM
Apple have been making great headway these days with their mobile CPUs... Im just wondering if eventually we will see Apple computer migrating from the Intel CPUs to Apple mobile CPUs the same ones we see in their flagship phones. After all the iMacs, are mobile version CPUs, on mobile motherboards with mobile GPUs just put in a thin sexy apple aluminium shell.. Apple has signed off on the idea of having ePCI GPU boxes working for the main processing.. Im thinking it would make cost effective sense to drop intel and move onto their own ARM Apple CPUs..and slowly blend iOS and MacOS into 1 unified OS..

19  Other / Beginners & Help / Will BTT ever transition to a new more powerful and visually impressive forum. on: September 27, 2018, 09:03:15 AM
I can't help but feeling that BTT is a little visually dated, BBcode isn't the most friendly to create mediocre visuals. All the visuals are bitmap or jpg based, while vector would be more appropriate. its not mobile friendly...

Has there ever been a conversation about migrating to a more up to date modern version of the forum... or will we keep this going due to nostalgia and Satoshi Nakamoto?
20  Other / Politics & Society / Ted Kaczynski - The Unabomber | Was he right? on: September 27, 2018, 08:50:27 AM
I would love to know the opinions of people who are interested in this very cutting edge field of blockchains and decentralisation. A lot of people who I often speak with believe that Ted Kaczynski was ahead of his time. And a lot of the ideas in his manifesto are becoming true...

Do you agree with Ted's Manifesto? and could there of been a better way today for him to have got the attention he needed for this important debate?

For anybody who's interested in his manifesto its available here.
