122  Economy / Service Discussion / Is blockcypher not up to date? on: June 16, 2020, 04:06:08 AM
In blockcypher block explorer, I can not see couple of txs in one of my addresses. Is that mean their node is not up to date? I used to think this explorer as one of the best explorer till now but now this. Do they have this problem more often? I use it most of the times but never see such problem at all.
123  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Blockchain solution for Pension system of Primary school teachers of Bangladesh on: June 15, 2020, 03:12:28 AM
It is not something important for cryptocurrency to be legal in Bangladesh. But blockchain based technology implementation is one step toward crypto to be legal because people will realize utility of blockchain based solution.
A Bangeldeshi government agency is collaborating with IBM to harness blockchain for modernizing the country’s digital pension system.

124  Other / Beginners & Help / Feedback system is not ONLY for DT member on: June 14, 2020, 01:50:01 AM
A lot of users used to complain something on Reputation & Scam Accusation board and look for DT member to send negative feedback the complained user. But do not you know anyone can send feedback? If you believe someone is a scammer, you can send negative feedback. Why wait for DT members? Because your feedback will not be visible?
It will be visible to you at least and you can get better trading experience if you send feedback frequently (accurate feedback). In addition, if you send accurate feedback, you will add you to their trust lost which at the end may push you to be a DT member.

125  Other / Meta / Is MoparMiningLLC a VIP account? on: June 12, 2020, 01:39:43 AM
MoparMiningLLC has joined the forum on December 2017. He has custom title but I can not see VIP rank or a staff rank on his profile. How is he using custom title? Or theymos has given him special permission?
126  Economy / Service Discussion / Is setescrow.com legit? on: June 11, 2020, 03:26:29 AM
I just have seen this escrow site here- https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5254622.msg54594518#msg54594518
By searching through google, I found some accusations on reddit. What I am confused is the site was registered long ago. Usually, scammers do not register a domain for years. They have ANN thread here- https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1418801.0
On the other hand, there is a clone website of setescrow.com which running with setescrow.org domain.
127  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Is ETH better than BTC for payment? on: June 09, 2020, 04:12:24 AM
Very often we see people sugget to use ETH or any alternative coin for cheap and faster tx. I am going to share some information which will proof that it is no better. I may be wrong too, I am not an expert here. Just sharing what I have got.

BTC Avg. Block time- 10 minutes
ETH Avg. Block time- ~14 seconds (now)

So, ETH will get around 43 blocks = 1 BTC block

BTC block size- 1 MB (Let's say we use Legacy only)
ETH Block size- 20 to 30 kb (Let's say 25kb on average)

How much byte can both proceed within 10 minutes?
Both BTC and ETH will be able to proceed 1 MB tx data on average.

Is not both same in term of handling tx? Sometimes BTC is even better with segwit.
Just sharing some random thoughts, I am not expert technically. So, I may be wrong in many ways.
128  Other / Meta / Why custom trust list obsolete Default Trust on: June 08, 2020, 03:53:28 AM
When we set custom trust list, Default Trust does not work anymore. No matter if you have included DefaultTrust in your trust list or not.
But in my opinion, if it would not be obsolete, it would be good. In case of my way of viewing the feedback-
I want to see the feedback on users profile from most of the DT members. What I want is- Default Trust with custom trust list. Imagine there are 26 DT members, among them I want to exclude user A, B, C, M. In that case, I have to include all the other 22 members in my trust list (current system) but if Default Trust was not obsolete for building custom trust, I would only be required to exclude the four who feedback I do not want to see. Would not it be a good idea?
129  Other / Off-topic / Do not close a dispute until refunded (Paypal) on: June 07, 2020, 09:27:39 AM
Got this from here- https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5253472.msg54569964#msg54569964
It is not a new scam method but I learnt it today.
If you have filed dispute against any transaction, never close that as long as you do not get refund because you can not create any more dispute for the same transaction. It seems that scammers do this very often so that they can scam and get away from refunding the fund.
See the linked thread above, OP was scammed for $10, seller himself asked to create dispute, then again asked to close the dispute and he will refund but later he did not keep any more contact.
130  Other / Meta / Allowing username change, is it good? on: June 03, 2020, 03:51:19 AM
Within last couple of months, a few users have changed their username. This creates a confusion. For example, today when I check the Spam Buster Club thread, I just had surprised that how can the thread creator be changed. I used to know who the creator is but he is not the one there. For a moment, I forgot that theymos sometimes changes username on request. Now, if someone had business with an user of the forum and came back after a long time, how much confuse will he be? What do you think? Is it a good idea to allow changing username? I do not oppose it but it seems it may create issue in future.
131  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / What can cause transaction getting dropped from mempool? on: May 29, 2020, 03:11:22 AM
Usually, when someone uses too low fee despite current fee rate is high, that tx gets dropped from mempool and needs to re-broadcast or increase the fee.
What can be other cause? I have seen this thread- https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5250467.0
An user was having an issue of transaction not getting confirmed. He sent some Verge coin with a fee of 0.70 XVG. I am sure fee is not the case here. The fee is 0.10 XVG according to their website. Also, not such a shitcoin chain will have a lot of tx that some tx will get dropped for lower fee.

Then what caused the problem while he paid enough fee, he had updated with the latest version wallet also.
Why his transaction was unconfirmed and was not available in verge explorer?

133  Other / Meta / Where to create thread for buying BTC? on: May 27, 2020, 03:28:44 AM
I want to buy BTC from the local users using this forum. We do not have a local board, we only have a single thread and it is impossible to continue such deal there. Now, when I thought to create a thread, it makes me confused where should I post.
1. I will only buy from Bangladeshi user for BDT (BTC/BDT)

Should I post this on currency exchange board or maintain a thread in other location board?
134  Economy / Reputation / Surprise! Bruno is back? on: May 25, 2020, 11:34:32 PM
Almost all of us was sure that Phinnaeus Gage AKA Bruno is resting in peace, there was enough proof too. But he is now back- https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5251074.0

He is asking for donation which doesn't look good until he confirms everything.
135  Economy / Exchanges / Anyone using localcryptos? on: May 23, 2020, 03:40:46 AM
Localcryptos allow users to trade without verifying the identity. Since bitcoin is not legal in our country, I do not fill KYC as long as possible.
Anyway, localcryptos have payment system of seller preferences. What do you think? Is not it easy to target any trader of localcryptos by legal authority like local police as bitcoin is illegal here? I am trying to sell BTC there, I got some connects but it seems too risky for me if I continue the deal. Opinions.
136  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / What was the maximum fee required for being confirmed within next block on: May 16, 2020, 02:44:24 AM
Recently, the fee is fluctuating a lot. It is very high for any small transaction if anyone wants faster confirmation or need faster confirmation.
When bitcoin saw the maximum fee required for getting confirmation within next block? As far as I know it is 2017 but I really do not know how much it is.
How much you paid for getting your transaction confirmed within next block?
137  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Hashrate is dropping on: May 15, 2020, 02:51:08 AM
As you can see above, hashrate is decreasing after the halving as expected. Due to that, the fee has increased and according to bitcoinfees, the recommded fee is 150 sat / per byte and there are a lot of unconfirmed transaction.
After halving, we can say some miners have left. What do you think? More miners will leave too? And what if hashrate drop more?
138  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Opinion on TEZOS on: May 14, 2020, 02:43:25 AM
TEZOS seems to be doing good despite the market condition for a long time. You can check the chart. In the bearish season, it was in a good position still. Is it a good idea to invest such a coin?
