22  Bitcoin / Project Development / Posters [Bounty claimed] on: September 12, 2011, 04:55:20 PM
I've been unable to find anyone who's developed a physical bitcoin poster so i've decided i should work up a few to send to people i know at various universities, i'm going to make prints in 8.5X11 and 11X17 and intend to distribute them at no more than shipping cost as well as making them freely available for those who wish to print their own, any advice is welcome

A bounty of 2btc is avilable for the graphic designer to improve/clean up the posters into a printable state claimed by evoorhees
A new bounty is being issued for a poster including a variety of vendors this is also 2btc

This is the final result from voorhees, What does everyone think?
I have a copy with the "bleed" effect but getting a borderless print will require a visit to a print shop
50 pages fits in a USPS flat rate envelope so shipping will be
50 11x17 pages fits in a priority mail envelope shipping is unforutunatly higher than i had hoped and will be
The basic poster will be available both in 8.5x11 and 11x17 print sizes the (in progress) posters with vendors will be available as 11x17 only
Donations for those wishing to help out with purchasing print supplies can be sent to :1Jv5Pxpm7E9uYuKVVQdfxW3gvDkADzo5b7 otherwise they're paid out of pocket

A second poster(with vendor placement) is now avilable
The listed vendors were selected for their activity in the comunity when work began on the poster, vendors wishing to have themselves placed on the poster in place of others are required to provide a SVG or high resolution PNG format image for their logo and the desired address for the relevant QR code.

in the spirit of mining with whatever we can has anyone considered using a efficion or crusoe cpu for bitcoin mining? they were lower power chips based on a 128 bit(crusoe) or 256 bit (efficion) vliw arcitecture it should be possible to bypass or take advantage of in some way the "code moprhing" layer that was used to translate x86 instructions into native instructions

39  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / DSP miner? on: July 20, 2011, 11:03:28 PM
I couldnt decide if this should go in hardware or software but since the software makes it tick i'm going to ask it here.
I read an odd comment about a DSP possibly being used for mining in another section is this even possible i know a signal processor does some nifty things but i can't think through in my head any way it would work for bitcoin mining if anyone here could enlighten me it'd be much appreciated.
40  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / External gpu? on: July 10, 2011, 03:35:30 AM
I realize nvidia cards don't do well for mining. That being said they do have an interesting "desktop super computer" that consists of several workstation cards in their own enclosure that can be connected to a host machine with a single interface card.
This is the quadro plex.
 http://www.nvidia.com/page/quadroplex.html
Does amd/ati make an equivalent or is there something generic that is capable of the same thing?
