1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / [ANN][HTA] Update and Restart of Historia Network development on: March 19, 2020, 05:32:10 PM

The world's first consensus-based, historical record blockchain
Immutable Records - DAO - Masternodes

Historia has restarted development and v0.17.0.2 has been released.
We had to stop development back in July 2019, but in light of what is happening in the world today, we have restarted and updated our software. We also anticipate the web application being released in the next few weeks to interface with the Historia network. - March 19, 2020

What is Historia?
Historia is a consensus-based, immutable historical record blockchain and masternode system designed for record keeping of current events (future history) with emphasis on absolute accuracy and seeks to prevent all assimilations of falsehoods into the historical record.

Why start the Historia project?
Events as they happen must be recorded accurately; the triumphs, the mistakes, the exceptional acts of goodwill, and global atrocities are all so important to be accurately recorded. The facts of these events must remain unmolested, as “those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.” These records serve as moral and economic guidelines for humanity to advance. The ability for any one person or an entire super power government to manipulate, falsify, or delete historical accounts for any reason facilitates ignorance and hinders advancement of civilization.

Why is blockchain needed for the Historia project?
Not everything needs its own blockchain or token. For the Historia project, we wanted to crea te a consensus-based, immutable and decentralized system to hold historical records which have received a majority vote from those on the network. This makes the records unalterable, uncensorable and eliminates spam, bias, or advertisements. The only way the Historia project can achieve these goals is via the use of blockchain technologies.

How will the Historia project be funded? Is it a ICO, pre-mine, etc?
After seeing so many ICO scams, the Historia team made a conscience decision to forgo an ICO, premine, instamine, or founder’s fee. Rather, we decided to bootstrap ourselves during the research phase of this project. We are a self-funded organization.

How does voting and the governance layer work?
Voting will require running a Masternode or Voting Node. The governance layer allows for voting on both budget proposals as well as record proposals that will be locked for eternity. The budget proposals are temporary and limited in content, helping with community and network growth. The Historia team has further evolved the concept of the governance layer to allow masternodes or voting node to vote for or against budget proposals to build the network, and to record proposals to give an accurate representation of current events or future history.

Are storage nodes going to be incentivised?
Yes! Storage Nodes, aka Masternodes, verify the blockchain and store a copy of historical records that are voted on and accepted into the Historia blockchain. These nodes will be rewarded for their service to the network. Masternodes will receive 32% of the block reward. It should be noted that we fully expect this reward to increase to increase the number of masternodes in the future. It will require 5000 Historia coins to run a Masternode.

What Historia is not?
There are many repositories of data that are publicly available for content submission on the Internet, as well as other blockchain applications. Wikipedia is one application that fits this example. It should be noted that Historia is not trying to be a repository for all of human knowledge, but rather the significant cultural and historical events that are important to secure in an immutable manner for the further expansion of the human race. A major weakness the Historia team noticed in other blockchain applications that store data was the lack of incentivized nodes to truly decentralize the data. While some might think this is not a major issue, if data is centralized to an organization that is themselves decentralized, this is no better than having a database across multiple datacenters around the world. Another issue that the Historia team has seen in other blockchain applications is the ability for editors, not users, to control the content of the network. In Historia, the masternode owners control the content.

Will record submissions be incentivized?
Yes! The Historia team does not want to rely on the good nature and free time of its users to provide relevant content to the Historia blockchain. When users submit a record proposal, they also can submit a request for payment. If the masternode owners consider this to be an appropriate fee for the content submitted, as well as meeting the other guidelines such as accuracy, evidence, references, validity of content, then the submitting entity will receive payment for their work on approval. This allows for a greater accuracy in submitted content, as well as competition to submit the content quickly at a competitive and fair price. This is a network feature and payments are not based on the Historia team, company, or any future foundation. Even if the Historia team is eliminated from the equation, the network and Historia blockchain will live on to continue providing payments to both the masternode owners for hosting data, and the content submission entities.

What if an approved record is later deemed to be inaccurate?
The Historia team does understand that sometimes the public may not be privy to all evidence to make an accurate decision based on what is known about current events surrounding the record proposal in question. It is possible that the masternode owners may entirely vote yes on a false or inaccurate event. In the future, if the approved record was discovered to be false or inaccurate, Historia has devised a solution to amend the original record for content dispute and resolution. This will not change the original record, but instead maintain the integrity of the record chain. An addendum to previous records will be possible by tagging the appropriate record for addendum. It will be required to go through the same process as the original record proposal for submission since it is essentially a new record proposal.

2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / HOWTO GUIDE: Generating New Spork Keys on: May 07, 2019, 03:05:50 PM
Since there was so many questions on how to generate spork keys here is my guide. I can't promise everything is entirely accurate but this is what worked for me:

Some friendly links:
http://lenschulwitz.com/base58
http://www.fileformat.info/tool/hash.htm
https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Wallet_import_format

Important: If you are going to change the prefixes for your coin, make sure to do that before this. Otherwise you will break things after you change prefixes

Use following command to generate ESCDA key. If final spork key is not a digit as first character of output it’s wrong from my testing.

openssl ecparam -genkey -name secp256k1 -text -noout -outform DER | xxd -p -c 1000 | sed 's/41534e31204f49443a20736563703235366b310a30740201010420/PrivKey: /' | sed 's/a00706052b8104000aa144034200/\'$'\nPubKey: /'

After seeing so many ICO scams, the Historia team made a conscience decision to forgo an ICO, premine, instamine, or founder’s fee. Rather, we decided to bootstrap ourselves during the research phase of this project. We are a self-funded organization until the network launches. After launch of the Historia blockchain, Historia will be funded via a treasury model. In the Historia network, 10% of the block reward will be reserved for exchange listing fees, marketing, and further development.

How does voting and the governance layer work?
Voting will require running a Masternode. The governance layer allows for voting on both budget proposals as well as record proposals that will be locked for eternity. The budget proposals are temporary and limited in content, helping with community and network growth. The Historia team has further evolved the concept of the governance layer to allow masternodes to vote for or against budget proposals to build the network, and to record proposals to give an accurate representation of current events or future history.
