10  Economy / Marketplace / Sapphire AMD Radeon HD 6770 $73 Shipped FYI on: February 13, 2012, 07:17:44 AM

Hey guys, not sure if this is the best for mining, as I don't personally have a rig, but I saw a really good deal on this and thought I would share for people who are so inclined to use it whether for gaming or for mining.

"The 6770 is even cheaper using the same coupon and rebate.

82.99 after rebate + 4.99 shipping - 15 off (coupon code: WALNUT) = 72.98

Tax for Californians. $3 more than the FP'd HD 6770 deal in January."

11  Economy / Marketplace / Get up to 5gb free Drop box space on: February 11, 2012, 10:20:51 PM
Straight from the dropbox site, a way to get 5gb free. Just so everyone can take advantage of this

"Hello Beta Testers!

A couple of more bugfixes. Not all of them are visible but we are fixing internal stuff that will make the client better.

During this beta period, we are also offering additional free space to test automatic uploading of photos and videos. For every 500MB of photos and videos automatically uploaded, you'll receive another 500MB space bonus, up to 5GB total.

Where are my last 500M of bonus space?
Sorry, there's a bug in our code. We'll have it fixed within the next several days. There's nothing you need to do. Don't worry, you'll get your bonus.

FAQ on the Photo Upload feature.

Why didn't I get my free space for beta testing the latest forum build?

Can I manage files after they have been uploaded into my Camera Uploads folder?

Handle disconnecting devices on Windows 7 better.
Raise Progress window to top if you click on the tray menu and progress window is already open.
Other small fixes.
1.3 (Codename: Phoenix Down) Features

Importing of photos from cameras, phones, and SD cards.
Batch upload/download of files.
Mac OS X:
Linux x86_64:
Linux x86:

Clients 1.3.7 and earlier had an auto-update bug. Please install this version so that your client will stay up to date!
The photo import feature is not available on Mac 10.4 and Linux.
For Android devices, it's best to use "Connect as Disk Drive". HTC Sync will not work.
To import from iPhone, make sure to unlock your phone and enter your passcode before importing, otherwise it will claim to find no photos.
If importing from your iPhone on Mac gives an import error, try hard resetting it--hold down the power and the home button for 5 seconds. This will reboot the phone; it shouldn't change your settings or delete data.
On Windows, this feature relies on Autoplay. Please enable Autoplay to use this feature if you have disabled it.
On XP and Vista, it relies on the Windows Image Acquisition Service. If this service is not started, please start the service and reinstall Dropbox to use this feature. On WIndows Server, you may have to install the Desktop Experience feature.
On Windows 7, newer devices that rely on Device Stage (in the Control Panel) will not show Dropbox as an import option until you select "Change Program" for the default.
The Galaxy Nexus takes a lot of time to connect on OS X because it likes to pretend that every image on the device is a photograph. We now estimate how long it's going to take and show you that in the progress bar but it's usually in the order of minutes. We're working to see if this can be improved.
As usual, we strongly recommend making a backup of your Dropbox before upgrading to this build as we'll need a few weeks to be certain of its stability. We will rapidly release new builds as necessary to snipe the most common issues as they arise."

Use camera upload from the desktop application
To use the new feature, you'll need the Experimental Forum Build (1.3.1X) of the desktop application for Windows, Mac, or Linux. Once you plug in your camera or phone to your computer, you'll automatically be prompted to upload photos to your Dropbox folder. Select Import Pictures and Videos using Dropbox and your photos will automatically save to your Dropbox folder's Camera Uploads folder.

1JWbtazeap89SiLuDe4nCUNt9jom8YQVYn If you want to donate. Enjoy the free 5gb.
12  Economy / Gambling / Good Old Fashioned 2x Double Trouble [Now with JACKPOT .2528btc] on: August 04, 2011, 06:04:09 AM
Starting a new game:

It'll be 2x your deposit with a minimum of .2 and a maximum of 1.0.  The game will end after 24 hours of no deposits. Just like the old fashioned double trouble games that we used to have.

The game will start in 25ish minutes from time of post at 6:30am forum time.

Edit (feature added):
-Jackpot given to person who deposits the most (so use the same address)
-It will be 80% of my fees (6.4% of the total deposits because the 10% fee - 2% for bitcoinduit site = 8% for me and 80% of that is 6.4%)

Jackpot currently: .2528 BTC

13  Economy / Goods / WTB DDR Ram on: August 03, 2011, 12:01:11 AM
Does anyone have DDR Ram from some old computer or otherwise that they would like to liquidate at a reasonable price?
14  Economy / Goods / WTB 1x2gb Ram Corsair VS2GB800D2 on: July 25, 2011, 10:29:42 PM
I need one piece of ram from corsair specs are below:

* Density: 2GB (1x2GB Module)
* Speed: 800MHz
* Timing: 5-5-5-18
* Type: DDR2
* Format: DIMM
* Pin Out: 240 Pin
* Voltage: 1.8V
* Part#: VS2GB800D2 G
* UPC#: 843591004534
* Warranty: Limited Lifetime

From amazon it is $30, but for anyone with a fry's nearby it sells for $35 but with a $25 rebate from corsair if you purchase before 7/28. ( resulting in a net cost of $10.  The item is sold out online, so it would require you to buy it from the store and ship it to me.  Is there anyone that would be willing to do this?  Obviously I would be paying a lot more than $10 in bitcoins cause of the required out of pocket cost and time but less than $35 because you will be receiving a rebate.  This would be a good deal for someone who would like to invest in bitcoins.  PM me with offers if you're willing to.

Ended up simply buying from amazon.
15  Economy / Gambling / Starcraft 2 Tournament on: July 02, 2011, 07:04:53 AM
Hey, I had been thinking of this, but was inspired in the end by the crysis 2 tournament post.  How many people would be interested in a sc2 tournament?

Tournament Style:

Round 1:  Round-Robins with either 2 or 4 groups.  If it is 2 groups, then top 2 people per group move up, if it is 4 groups then top person from each group moves up.  These will be best of 3, replays will be sent to me for verification.

Semifinals: Best of 5, loser chooses the map.

Finals: Best of 7, winner gets 60% of the total pot, loser gets 30%.

I'm thinking of 0.5-1.0 BTC for entry/buy-in costs but that could go up or down.  Finals winner would get 60% of the total entry amount, the 2nd place winner would get 30% and I'd get 10% for hosting, verifying games, and running the tournament.

All of these numbers are just ballpark estimates depending on how responsive people are to this.  If you are interested or have comments, just leave a post or something and if enough people are interested, I'll get everything set-up.

You can watch the action at

You can confirm transactions at

Each round will last 30 minutes, with the next round at least 30 minutes after (They will be announced beforehand)
