Maybe I haven't got the way GLBSE operates right, but what if the GLBSE site gets shut down,
will then all my stocks become worthless?  I mean the whole structure of our bitcoin economy should
be in my opinion as decentralized as possible. So, I as an investor should in theory be able to
trade stocks from a company with any individual on any market. It came to my mind, that with the
bitcoin protocoll we have already a tool to generate stocks. Let me explain: let's say you  have
the fantastic idea to start a bitcoin cam site and you already own some ressources but you need some funding. So why not start a alternative blockchain like bitcamcoins. You mine all the coins in advance
(or the most part of it, could also workout, i am not sure) and sell the bitcamcoins for a fixed price for
bitcoins to your investors. When your company makes some profit, you offer to buy back the bitcamcoins
for a higher price in bitcoins. The investors on the other side could trade the bitcamcoins on markets like GLBSE or directly with other individuals. This would reduce the vulnerability of the bitcoin economy.

Some days ago game designer Tim Schafer hit the news by setting a
new record for crowdfunding. He was able to raise nearly 2 mio US-Dollars for
the development of a new adventure game called "Double Fine Adventure".

This success proves that crowdfunding has become a real alternative
to classical ways of fundraising. Why do I mention this?
A problem for our bitcoin-economy or generally speaking for a cryptocurrency
economy is exactly the issue of funding. I am sceptical that without
law enforcement a conventional way of banking and stock exchange is possible.
Crowdfunding on the other hand does not need a high level of law enforcement.
The funding is more or less a donation, and will go mainly to projects that
serve a common cause - let's say an open source project like a bitcoin app, or a
plug-in for wordpress. With crowdfunding it could be possible to hire
programmers that get their payments in bitcoins only.

my conclusion: we need a crowdfunding platform running on cryptocurrencies
as soon as possible!

Crowdfunding über Plattformen wie Kickstarter erweist sich als gangbare Methode um größere
Projekte zu finanzieren. Dabei umgeht man finanzstarke Investoren, die oft ihre eigenen Vorstellungen
haben, wie ein Projekt umzusetzten ist, und kann direkt auf die Wünsche der Spender eingehen.

Für digitale Währungen sehe ich hier eine ideale Marktlücke. Betrachten wir doch einmal die
Situation in unserer Bitcoin-Wirtschaft: zwar gibt es Leute die Bitcoins traden, minen und vielleicht
über Börsen wie Bitmit oder natürlich SilkRoad Waren kaufen und verkaufen, aber es besteht
aktuell keine Möglichkeit an Investmentkapital für Projekte zu kommen.
Es gibt zwar Ansätze eine Börse aufzuziehen, auf der Aktien in Bitcoins gehandelt werden, aber
irgendwie habe ich meine Zweifel ob eine Kopie unseres jetzigen Systems des Investments für digitale Währungen - jedenfalls zum aktuellen Zeitpunkt - sinnvoll ist. Das Hauptproblem, was zur Zeit existiert, ist die fehlende Exekutive und Judikative um gegen Betrug und Diebstahl vorzugehen. Das heißt, letztendlich kann jeder dem Du Bitcoins für ein Investment leist mit dem Geld abhauen und Du kannst nichts dagegen machen.

Das Crowdfunding ist dagegen ziemlich sexy. Technisch simpel und wie Kickstarter beweist absollut
machbar. Wir haben ja schon hier im Forum in der Vergangenheit gesehen, dass die User gerne Bitcoins
für Projekte spenden, die ihnen nützlich sind, wie zb. diese und jene App. Bisher fehlt aber ein
Tool um das Kapital den entsprechenden Projekten zufließen zu lassen.

Ich appelliere daher an Euch alle: eine Crowdfunding-Plattform muss her!

Ich bin schon seit längerem ein großer Fan des Open Source Ecology
Projekts. Meiner Meinung neben Bitcoin eines DER Lichtblicke für eine bessere
Gesellschaft!

Vor ein paar Monaten hatte ich Marcin Jakubowski überredet, Bitcoin-Spenden anzunehmen,
aber inzwischen haben sie das mit den Bitcoins gelassen. Schade!

As far as I got it - the price of creating bitcoins depends on investment in hardware and
of course electricity. If this Bedini generator really works than the only investment
you have to do in the near future is the computer hardware because electricity comes for free.

Sounds crazy? I will check this out soon when I have more free time...

I wanted to sell an Amazon gift voucher in euros for bitcoins on biddingpond.
My question: is it possible for someone from the US to use such a voucher

I was often asking myself- if there is an economic breakdown, how can we install economic "life saving boats"? 
Then I found the open source Cyclos project - that was before I found Bitcoin though.

As far as I know - you can also pay other cyclos members via SMS on your mobile phone.

So the cyclos platform has an internal currency that cannot leave the community - and vice versa - everyone who wants to participate in this local economy has to live close to the other members of the cyclos network. The reason why I prefer bitcoin over Cyclos is that I can start exchanging goods and services right away - I just have to use the mail service for example. If there is no imminent NEED for a local alternative economy to grow (like a lack of food or employment) the cyclos net will not grow.
This Cyclos platform can only work - in my opinion - when people offer goods that are directly useful to
everyone in the community- like growing food or selling tobacco. But the problem is, that the people most likely to join a cyclos platform aren't farmers. That is the reasion why I think bitcoin is a more succesfull approach for the moment.

Still, I wanted to share this link - maybe somebody gets inspired by this software or finds a way to integrate it with bitcoin.

There is a micropayment service called flattr which is becoming popular in Germany right now. The website is http://flattr.com/.

Flattr is based in the UK and runs in Euro, but maybe there is way to pay in US-Dollars, I don't know. I just posted the link if someone is interested in creating an exchange service via flattr.
It should be easy to create and manage a flattr account, but the whole thing works with some delay and they take 10% fees.
