1  Other / Off-topic / This is my 1000th post! on: March 04, 2015, 06:14:39 PM
This is my 1000th post on bitcointalk!

I know this is nothing worth celebrating. I do want to make this post special. I might not even reply to this post later on. Don't want my current sig campaign to think I am padding posts.

Congrats to myself!  Wink
2  Bitcoin / Wallet software / [GUIDE] Offline Access to Blockchain Wallet (Exporting Keys) on: May 03, 2014, 05:00:48 PM
Blockchain.info Wallet is the most popular online wallet for Bitcoin. So when it is unexpectedly down for maintenance, plenty of users are caught off guard, unable to send Bitcoins for a payment or to exchanges.

Some advanced users would have exported the wallet or private keys in various format, and keep them in a safe place, ready to be imported into other Bitcoin clients. However, most users would just have the encrypted "wallet.aes.json" backup file emailed to them, and wouldn't know what to do with it.

This guide aims to help users to prepare themselves for a quick access to their Blockchain Wallet funds with "wallet.aes.json" backup if Blockchain.info is offline. I will try to improve this guide as it goes.

3  Other / Meta / Can a locked topic be unlocked? on: May 03, 2014, 09:57:21 AM
If I started a topic and then lock it. Can I unlock it later on to enable members to post/edit their comments again? I know that you cannot switch between a self-moderated topic and a normal moderated one, not sure if the lock function works the same way.

(I actually wanted to start a new topic and test the above, but I don't know where to post that testing thread)

4  Other / Meta / Unable to connect to BitcoinTalk for 12 hours on: April 13, 2014, 08:17:13 PM
I have been trying to get on to BitcoinTalk for the pass 12 hours, and only just succeeded. The forum front page didn't even load. I tried switching off the modem to get a new IP address, tried deleting cookies. All other sites worked, just not BitcoinTalk.

I thought BitcoinTalk might be attacked again, so check back periodically, until I got final through just now, and found that there are plenty of posts for the past 12 hours like forum was never down.

What is happening? Is admin banning IP ranges to fend off attacks?

(When finished typing this message, I click post, went dead again. My chrome just display "This webpage is not available")
