WHAT IS ZED?

The economics are not overly complicated in ZED, players set up a stable and buy digital racehorses (NFT's ERC-721 Tokens), with the aim to build a legacy with a stable full of winners.

To build an empire, players strategically breed and trade horses (assets) in an effort to cultivate winning racehorses. If a stable owner is smart they can profit along the way as well as build a prestigious reputation. 

In essence, it is a market-driven economy. Think of it as a stock exchange for horses, the more valuable your horse is, the more another trader will be willing to pay for it.

I feel we as traders could be considered as speculative consumers, and if that is partly the truth wouldn't it be cool if the digital asset that we are speculating on was something we had whole ownership of?

I feel like we as those crypto traders we could be considered as speculative consumers.

I thought it might be nice to sit on the other side of the coin so I built a trading inspired game on the blockchain.

It is very similar to how a bear market will rise and a bull market will fall however retained on an individual token asset in the form as a digital racehorse.

The game allows players to have true ownership of digital racehorse thanks to erc721.org and the development of the Non-Fungible Token (NFT) which is just a fancy way of saying a truly unique token or asset.

Each ERC721 NFT token (racehorse) can independently raise and fall depending on how it performs when racing.

We recently launched and a crypto game (www.zed.run) where players have true ownership of digital racehorses. Our game will be really simple, buy a horse, race it and breed offspring in between.

Thanks to the blockchain and the rise of non-fungible tokens (NFTs) users can now truly have ownership of a digital asset in the form of an immutable token. Non-fungible is just a fancy way fo saying unique, so think of it as a unique token.

So what's so cool about an NFT? Well for one, if the publisher of a game, ceases to operate, the NFT continues to exist on the blockchain. In fact, its designed in a way ready for other platforms to consume. In essence, an NFT is an ever-green digital asset that has the potential to live inside many games and never die.

Due to the stability NFTs have to offer, they could be considered a good investment. We will leave to you guys to debate.

My team and I have been working on a horseracing game called ZΞD. It runs off the Ethereum network using ERC 721 tokens and we are currently on Ropsten doing some early testings.
 
We love the idea of non-fungible tokens and decided to create a more serious gaming marketplace.
 

ZΞD is a blockchain game where stable owners can buy, breed and race digital thoroughbreds. The aim of the game is to create a legacy with a valuable stable full of winning racehorses. Each racehorse is uniquely created with a smart contract that is linking performance data using cryptography. As a racehorse evolves into something greater it becomes more desirable.

The first part (owning the asset) is ready for testing, if you would like to try it out it is over our website right now. Tip: Don't forget to switch to Ropsten test-network when you fire up Metamask.

We are splitting development into for key milestones, here is some general info.

Early Release The Early Release is simply how we plan on releasing the first batch of racehorses. These are the only racehorses that will be sold at a fixed price. We are releasing a total of 38,000 and that’s it! We have built out and ready to test this phase of development on the Ropsten test network, so feel free to give us a go!
Market Place The Marketplace is where you, the user, can take your racehorse and sell it via an auction to other users. You set the price and you collect any profits that are there to be had.
Stud Farm The Stud Farm is where breeding happens. If you own a male racehorse, you can place them in the Stud Farm and set a price for female thoroughbreds to breed with you. The male keeps the money, and the female keeps the offspring.
Live Racing This is what we are most excited about. We have prototyped and tested various versions of what live racing would be like on the blockchain. One of the most important considerations the team has thought about is how to keep users who have purchased racehorses coming back to ZΞD. We have devised and implemented a lottery style algorithm that selects racehorses are random to compete in races. The aim is to have more than one hundred races per day.

We have received a few questions relating to “why aren’t you launching racing from the get-go?” and that is because we want users to compete against other users. To do so, we need to build a community first for racing to be exciting.

This is most certainly a passion project for us and that has turned into something serious. We have been fortunate enough to raise some venture capital to pursue our vision along with your help!
