Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Self Aware Cryptocurrency (Skynet?)
|

I wasn't even sure where to post this.
Ive been doing some research. The human brain contains approximately 86billion neurons. There are around 1billion computers connected to the internet. If a program was devised that worked in a p2p fashion, like bitcoin, but to simulate 1000 neurons on each computer and allow them to communicate with all the other simulated neurons on the p2p network we could make a full scale simulated model of the human brain and possibly make the internet self aware. I know it sounds crazy. Depending on the amount of neurons emulated per client you would only need a small percentage of the worlds computers to run the client for it to be more powerful than a human brain.
To give an incentive for the running of the network it could be designed around a cryptocurrency. All you need is each client to simulate a few thousand neurons. A floating blockchain that is flushed after an arbitrary set of time, say 24 hours, after 24 hours the oldest data is lost off of the end of the blockchain, that allows the network to have a working memory the neurons can write directly to this working memory blockchain to be seen by all nodes on the network, this blockchain is coupled with the cryptocurrency block chain that is a long term storage of transaction data and possibly the emulated brains long term memory storage.
This could lead to the first self aware cryptocurrency.
What do you guys think?

Economy / Trading Discussion / Looking for an all in one cart/checkout solution with html button
|
on: July 02, 2013, 01:20:16 AM
|
I need something like paypal offers, copy/paste html to your site/blog and someone can click on the checkout button which is for a single item and put in shipping address and pay. I'm not looking for a "real" cart, I don't need to be able to have ppl add multiple items to the cart, 1 is fine.
Any suggestions?
I tried mtgox but their checkout doesn't ask for an address, it relies on you to have your own cart.

Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Recomendations for a good breaker to handle all of my rigs.
|
on: June 07, 2013, 01:46:39 AM

My current breaker gets hot and doesn't trip when it blows, power goes out and switch is still on -.- , I'm worried about this breaker causing problems so I'm going to replace it. What should I be looking for? I don't want to just go to ace and pick up a cheapie, I want one that is going to do good by my rigs. Looking for recommendations.

Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Removing plastic from around heatsink for better cooling
|
on: June 05, 2013, 06:11:24 AM
|
Has anyone tried it?
There is no way that plastic "shell" is helping airflow over the heatsink. I have a big box fan cooling my rig and it just pushes the air around the cards, I think it would be more efficient to push that air over the heatsink instead of just relying on the heatsink fan. Its only a couple screws to take the plastic shell off of these sapphires I have.
What do you guys think?

Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / [SELLING] 3D Printed WorldCoins
|
on: May 27, 2013, 08:06:06 AM

550 WDC per coin. 200 WDC shipping for as many coins as I can fit in a mailer. ( These prices are estimates and will be different at purchase) I'm trying to keep it around $10 for one shipped. $7 per coin. $3 shipping. I will calculate the amount of WDC that equals this amount at purchase. It takes about 25 minutes to print each coin. They are about the size of a 1oz silver round give or take a few MM. If you want escrow buy it through bitmit. https://www.bitmit.net/en/item/35419-3d-printed-worldcoinIf you are interested pm me for more info. These coins are made out of high quality gold ABS plastic. This stuff isn't cheap, but it looks awesome. Own a piece of history.

I have a problem saving money, if I have bitcoins it burns a hole in my wallet till I spend it.
Has anyone come up with a bitcoin wallet (custom wallet or a mod for current wallet) that is able to lock bitcoins in it for a set period of time.
Like I put 1BTC in my wallet and set it to not be available until 2 years from now.

Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / MMOcoin (idea for an all in one coin based on litecoin)
|
on: May 05, 2013, 10:16:27 AM
|
My idea is a simple mmo game that doesn't have very intense graphics but has a built in mining program. The more you play the game the more coin you mine, but it doesn't stop there, go farm monsters and get coin drops along with gear that is sellable for coin. The coin would be like litecoin with similar difficulty but only minable through the game. This doesn't necessary have to be a new game, I think minecraft or wow could be modded to work this way. The key is to make the coin easy to get out of the game, we can just imbed a wallet in the game. A PK server could even implemented so that when you kill someone you get a portion of their coins. what do you guys think? If someone with more skill than I decides to make this please include me in the dev process. I can just imagine playing minecraft all day on 4x 7970s. My room mate would think im insane.

Economy / Marketplace / Fastest way to get $ for BTC?

Paypal preferred but I can take moneypack or prepaid visa. I'm looking for a site that does this, not an individual unless there is some type of escrow.
