[Step 1]

This guide will show beginners how to buy LINK with US Dollars.

Step 1
Head over to Coinbase to sign up for an account. After you have done this, you can go ahead and buy Ethereum.
Buying ETH with a debit card would be the quickest option. You can buy Bitcoin or Litecoin instead, but you want to make sure you have ETH to cover network fees.
Move your ETH out of Coinbase and into your own Ethereum wallet. The Ledger Nano S ledger is one of the most secure options available. You can use something like Coinfy or Metamask if you prefer.

Step 2
Visit Switchain‘s cryptocurrency exchange.
Select Ethereum under “I have” and LINK under “I want”. Click “Get Best Exchange Rate”.
You do not need to make an account or provide personal information.

Step 3
The next page will show you the exchange rate. After you approve the rate you will need to input your LINK address and a refund address for your ETH. ERC20 tokens (like LINK) use ETH as gas. Make sure the address that you send the LINK to also has some ETH, or you won’t be able to move your LINK tokens.

Step 4
You will be provided with an Ethereum address. Send the correct amount of ETH and the LINK will automatically deposit into your wallet.

You’re done! That’s all it takes. You will be redirected to a confirmation page.
