The study shows that the cryptocurrency events “have a long road ahead toward gender inclusion” and such events have “to change.” Bizzabo co-founder and customer success chief Alon Alroy said in relation to the study’s findings that “there is a lack of gender diversity” in the cryptocurrency industry and that it is “reflected in the attendance for these events.” He mentioned that such lack of gender diversity is also true for the tech industry in general. Software Engineer Tong Zou was saddened to know that he might never get his $422,000 worth of crypto. Last week, it was reported that QuadrigaCX Founder Gerald Cotten died leaving many crypto users hanging on a cliff because Cotten is believed to be the only person who has access to the cold wallet where all the funds are stored. Since there were relatively high conversion fees involved when transferring money from a US bank to a Canadian one, Zou decided to put his money in QuadrigaCX. His original plan was to convert his money to crypto, convert it back to Canadian, and then file a withdrawal request, which he did in October 2018. We're going to have to choose a native cryptocurrency pretty soon and Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey strongly believes it will be Bitcoin. "I believe the internet will have a native currency and I don’t know if it’s bitcoin. I think it will be [bitcoin] given all the tests it has been through and the principles behind it, how it was created." The Philippines Securities And Commission had recently unveiled the new regulatory framework for digital asset token offerings. According to the press release, all DATOs are now required to have complete proper documents that contain the details of the project, issuer, advice, and certification of experts behind the project. On top of that, Offshore Virtual Currency Exchange (OVCE) license for the tokens you plan to release. The new regulations are divided into three tiers. The first tier is designated for assets and investments that do not exceed $5 million in digital tokens. The second one is for $6 to $10 million worth of digital assets, whereas the third tier focuses on assets and investments that amount to over $10 million. The State of Wyoming had initiated experimenting on the usability of cryptocurrency as an official currency. Wyoming stands as the only state in the US to consider the legalization of cryptocurrencies, but as most people call it, Wyoming is currently viewed as a state sandbox.
