1  Economy / Gambling / random soccer picks on: June 14, 2015, 01:42:31 PM
Random soccer picks I'll post from time to time. I'll keep track of the net profit of my bets(not the same as winning and losing bets)

For today:

brazil - série A

Grêmio FBPA v Atlético Paranaense:

Atletico Paranaense draw no bet(4.12)
outright win at 5.8x is ok too if you want more risk

Palmeiras v Fluminense FC:

Draw or Fluminense FC(2.14)
or
Fluminense draw no bet(3.84)

(for stats purposes I will take into account the double chance)

Slovenia vs England:

England(1.86)

2  Economy / Gambling discussion / COPA AMERICA discussion on: June 12, 2015, 12:36:50 AM
COPA AMERICA discussion thread

Talking about the competitions it self...who will win and other things!!!

Personaly I think Brazil won't win considering the games against Mexico and Honduras. Maybe Argentina or Colombia.
3  Other / Politics & Society / Why so many planes crashing/disappearing recently? on: July 24, 2014, 12:37:27 PM
The MH17 in Ukraine that everyone know about.
The Taiwan plane crash that killed 48 people:

http://edition.cnn.com/2014/07/23/world/asia/taiwan-plane-crash/

And now the Algerian one carrying 110+ people:

http://edition.cnn.com/2014/07/24/world/africa/air-algerie-flight/index.html?hpt=hp_t1

Not counting the super stealth plane that disappeared somewhere near Malasya last year and still no clue about what happened.

Is this just coincidence, or something behind this? From generalized  lack of investments in security from the airline companies to maybe selective killings or some diversion to something that is happening or going to happen?
4  Economy / Speculation / Dafuq is happening with btc price on: July 24, 2014, 12:09:51 PM
We just went to 590-605(bitstamp-btc-e) price in matter of minutes.

Any news that justify that, or just some whale tired of bitcoin/price manipulation?
5  Other / Politics & Society / BRICS sign deal to create development bank on: July 16, 2014, 03:04:31 AM
Group of emerging powers set up $50bn development bank and $100bn contingency fund, seen as rival to World bank and IMF.

Quote
The BRICS group of emerging powers have launched a $50bn development bank to be based in the Chinese city of Shanghai, according to a joint declaration.

The bank will have an initial subscribed capital of $50bn followed by an authorised capital of $100bn, equally shared among the BRICS members - Brazil, Russia, China, India and South Africa.

The New Development Bank's first president will be from India while the board's chairman will be Brazilian, according to the declaration released at a summit in Fortaleza, Brazil.

Tuesday’s deal was reached after intense last-minute negotiations to settle a dispute between India and China over the headquarters of the new bank.

Brazilian President Dilma Rousseff said setting up the currency reserve was a priority for the countries to protect themselves from crisis scenarios: "It will be a kind of security net to increase protection for BRICS countries as well as other countries. It's a question of our security."

6  Other / Politics & Society / ISIL declares new 'Islamic caliphate' on: June 30, 2014, 01:59:33 AM
http://www.aljazeera.com/news/middleeast/2014/06/isil-declares-new-islamic-caliphate-201462917326669749.html

Quote
The Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL), the armed group fighting governments in Iraq and Syria, has announced the establishment of a "caliphate" straddling the two countries.

In an audio recording distributed online on Sunday, the ISIL declared its chief Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi as "the caliph" and "leader for Muslims everywhere".

Baghdadi is believed to be the leader of ISIL, which announced that it is now called "The Islamic State".

Meanwhile:

USA planning to spend 500 millions to help Syrians rebels. Surely this will strength ISIL, and many of the training or equipment will be used against USA and their allies, specially in Iraqui.

Jihadist levant against Bashar Al-Assad: he's evil and we need to take don his government, jihadist Levant against Iraqi: they are a sovereign state and must deal alone with their problems, only after much pressure they send  insignificant help for them.

Occident keeps sending weapons to Syrians rebels, when anyone with two brains cells is ware many of them will end in the hands of enemies of the Occident.

USA, among other things, used Saddam Hussein - Al Qaeda bounds to justify Iraqi's invasion, now Al Qaeda is orders of magnitude stronger than when Saddam had the power.

There are some mad theories about people inside the USA working hard to crush the USA's world dominance, and about Obama being more loyal to the Muslin Brotherhood than to USA.

Why they don't seems so mad when we see the facts?

7  Other / Off-topic / Your favourite bitcoin conspiracy theory(+create yours) on: June 24, 2014, 05:55:50 PM
For me:

bitcoin is the mark of the beast, and will play a major role on the Antichrist's reigns

Two I created:

1)Satoshi is Theymos, and Theymos is Satoshi:

why would Satoshi disappear in thin air, and leave the forum to some random guy? Theymos is Satoshi with another identity, he did it because he was tired of thousands of newbie's poking him with questions, and before the secret service guys would start to make a profile and find him, if he was going to keep posting.

2) In this forum there is a proof of the hellish bounds of bitcoin. Why the name bitcoin talk? Its too similar to bitcoin temptation, bitcoin is made to attract all the greedy people into and condemn them. Like the one ring that seduce all only to imprison them all.

Hidden in the forum's source code there is a cryptography puzzle that when solved will give access to the subforum where the Illuminati and all the satanic cults in the world discuss about the rise of bitcoin and about the coming of the Antichrist's. The one that solves it will have a central hole in the Antichrist's reign(since all bitcoin's users are greedy bastards, no one would refuse that).

motivation: some silly topic in the meta forum asking why the name bitcointalk

8  Local / Português (Portuguese) / FBI vai vender as moedas apreendidas da Silk Road 1.0 on: June 13, 2014, 02:49:48 AM

9  Economy / Speculation / Why bitcoin trading is not a zero sum game on: May 20, 2014, 10:45:01 AM
Simply speaking: bitcoin trades platforms  are not a closed system.

There are people that buy to hodl it forever, in hope to become billionaires one day(it is like money thrown in the market but never out).

There are people that exchanges bitcoins for others cryptos, or other cryptos for bitcoins. Some never revert their moves, some brings back more when they are back, some brings more less(like I did when I tried to mess with altcoins).

There are lost coins, for any reason(lost private keys, owner convicted to life imprisonment, owner dead, etc...).

There is in fact wealth generated by bitcoin economy, like gambling sites, service sites, jobs, money from advertising, silk road sellings, etc. We all know that an economy where wealth is created is not a zero sum economy.

There are miners that sell their bitcoins, its like they are sucking money out of the market.

There are people that are paid in bitcoin for jobs, signature selling and stuff. Where is the "other side" of their gains?
10  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / What bitcoin-related projects and works are we lacking? on: April 30, 2014, 08:22:42 PM
Can be anything, from core developments to utterly non-computertech things. I'm thinking about pick at least 1 btc related project to work.

My opinion:

1) Site that one can offer and accept work for btc, like some freelancers sites around there. I know there is a section about that in the forum, but we lack some specialized features that professional freelancer and/or adversing sites have, like personal profiles and categories of jobs.

2) A technical book about how bitcoin works and can be used to make things. Like we have books about microcontrolers, programming languages, arduino, computer networks, game making, etc...

3) Guides to people with knowledge make make their own bitcoin-related stuffs. For exemple, their own simple offline wallet, so one can know for sure that it has no backdoors. Or how to make exchange related stuff, like trading bots or an app that will warn you if certain market conditions are meet.

4) An economic analysis about btc: his nature, what is similar and different related to other investiments, long and short terms possible impacts in economy, latents markets that might grow if btc gets more accepted, and all other stuff. I think it is hard to see at this moment, because the BTC people are IT and technical people, not people with great knowledge and study of economics, and the big economists hardly can understand, or want to understand, bitcoin.

Because bitcoin is not the only thing that can be dumped
