1  Economy / Exchanges / Binance has problems with connections with today crash on: April 18, 2021, 12:28:25 PM
Today, Binance shown that they have technical problems with the market crash. Within 10 to 30 minutes, it was super hard to submit orders and get it successfully loaded on the market orders.

It happened with Binance since the beginning of bitcoin bull run. Honestly I respect the quality and creativity that Binance run their services and some products that create trend in crypto. Today problems recall me the same with Poloniex and Bittrex in 4 years ago bull run.

I hope in this bull run, the market will have another new outstanding exchange.
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / ETH/BTC price as percent on: January 23, 2021, 12:29:44 PM
Congratulations Ethereum enthusiasts and investors with the new all time high for Ethereum about $1400.

I have the chart for Ethereum price as percent of Bitcoin price. The photo is taken from skew.com's Tweet
As percent of bitcoin price, Etherum has min at 0.2%, max at 15% and today it is 3.85%. If bitcoin won't rise more but Ethereum increases more and claims it 15% again, its price can be $4785. The price will blow my mind away.

3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Stricter management on crypto wallets (altcoins, stablecoin) is coming, possibly on: January 15, 2021, 06:14:50 AM
FinCEN Extends Comment Period for Controversial Crypto Wallet Rule

Although the article is a newest about crypto wallet management and policies, there are warnings for it years ago: PSA: Most Stablecoins Can Be Frozen, Even in Your Own Wallets

You are not safe with centralized altcoins and centralized stable coins. Ripple with SEC lawsuit is another warning case.
4  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Fee is cheap while bitcoin rises to $29600. on: January 01, 2021, 04:06:21 PM
https://jochen-hoenicke.de/queue/#1,30d

Fee in satoshi is cheap and the holidays for Christmas and new year contribute to the low fee. In December, the trend of fee is cheaper as people have more belief in future rise of bitcoin and they don't see a price at one day is their last chance to sell bitcoin at all time high. They have more belief that bitcoin will hit its new all time high. There are sellers but people don't scramble for a price and ignore transaction fee.

I know the fee in USD is rising with same amount of satoshi for fee. Average transaction fee (USD) is lower than fee in 2 weeks from late October to early November: https://bitinfocharts.com/comparison/bitcoin-transactionfees.html#3m

Security is a tricky topic.

In order to maintain security of your crypto currency, you have to maintain security of all of your accounts. For many people, it is the first time they have to carefully think about the security of their online identities and online devices.

When you lose your privacy, when your information get hacked, you do not feel it right away.

Blockchair.com has its compare page which presents a filter and comparative tables among some coins. In this thread, I present you an overview on fees (average, median in $ last 24 hours). You can visit the page, get an overview before doing further steps and choose the best coin at time to move your fund.

Similar when you trade, look at daily volume and price trend of each coin. Make sure after you move your fund with it, you can trade it back to Bitcoin and won't get loss when price falls down.

Use this method to move your small fund when fee is a matter. I don't advise you to move all your funds with altcoins because of Replay attacks.

19  Other / Beginners & Help / Privacy for bitcoin transactions on: July 30, 2020, 04:59:43 AM
Bitcoin was born to control our own banks and protect our privacy when we move our funds.

There are some ways to increase your transaction privacy:
- Use change address in non-custodial wallets
- Use Coin Join transactions
- Use reliable mixing service like Chip Mixer
- Use some good altcoins with the suggested topic from theymos.

Everything need to be practice before you can make it correct. In this case, make it correct to increase your privacy.

There are two explorers that you can use to check privacy of your transactions and from results you can think of other ways and improvements to make your transactions more private.
- Blockchair.com (type hash of your transaction at the end of the link)
- Blockstream.info (type hash of your transaction at the end of the link)
You can check this transaction: 8d49f7e2156da6b2dfb5e0e9e86c8d878c96a0dd4674c64dea37c748a37aac63

They have documents:
- Blockchair.com's privacy-o-meter's document
- Bitcoin privacy improves with BTCPay servers P2EP implementation (it is not a document for privacy analysis that is used on blockstream.info but you can read and get something)

I often use the blockchair.com because they classify transactions into 3 groups (from privacy scores) and 4 types (from transaction types):
Quote
score transaction privacy score where 0 is the worst score, and 100 is the best score

Quote
Type code    Description
CB    Coinbase transaction
N1    Transaction with just 1 output (either a sweep to another address by the same owner, or a transfer using a "send everything I have" option)
N2    Transaction with 2 outputs most common in wallets where one of the outputs is the recipient, and the other one is the change address
NN    Transaction with more than 2 outputs most common in exchanges and services that use payout batching

20  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Does blocksize affect speed to sync Bitcoin Core on: July 12, 2020, 03:43:57 PM
It is a simple question as the title presents.

I noticed that when I sync my Bitcoin Core, with same level of connection (shows with WiFi Connection status), the sync speed is different.

When I sync my wallet to 2015 (first half), the speed becomes slower.

I also want to know the method to connect more nodes because I thought more nodes can help me to sync my wallet faster.

I also notice my computer works slowly if I open wallet and sync it, slower than when I don't sync wallet.
