1  Economy / Collectibles / Interest Check - Bitcoin version of Risk? on: August 29, 2023, 08:27:22 PM
Thanks for everyone who participated in the poker chips that I did earlier this year, they turned out great!

I was thinking of what else I could do to contribute to the Bitcoin collectible community and thought about a Bitcoin version of the game Risk.  Here is what I thought of so far:

Game mechanics cannot be copyrighted, so using the Risk gameplay ideas should not be a problem.  We just need to make sure names and graphics are unique, should not be a problem.  allows for custom boxes, cards and boards,  prices vary based upon how many copies.

I was thinking of making the 6 armies being:

Green - US Dollar/banks.  Game pieces would be , $ (5 units) and a bank (10 units)
Orange - Satoshi/Bitcoin   Games pieces would be Satoshi symbol a Bitcoin symbol and a round Bitcoin for 10 units
Blue - Ethereum   Game pieces would be Ethereum logo and ?
Red - BRICS     Game pieces might be small gold bars?  and a bank 5 units?

I need advice for the 5th and 6th army, as I am not really into any other   I am a fan of Elon, so maybe Doge (yellow) might be an option.  Maybe XRP (which for the record I totally despise),which would be a great villainous black army!

Countries - I would want the map to be updated to avoid any copyright concerns and would want El Salvador to stick out.  I was also thinking of making a "home country" for each as a variation.  For example, in Risk if you own the country when you trade in cards, you get 2 bonus armies, I was thinking of making that 4 if you own the country and it is the home country of your particular currency (El Salvador for Bitcoin, Eastern US for dollar/FED, Russia for ETH, China for BRICS, etc.).

Cards - I was thinking the same overall concepts with the cards, except rather then the soldier the horse and cannon, we could have an ASIC, a pick (if we go with gold) and a printer for the money printer go brrr.

I believe Slumberjack is interested in doing some of the artwork.

As for the game pieces, I was thinking we could get MM to 3d print the pieces, I have a 3d printer and will gladly help.

This would be similar to my Bitcoin Poker Chips where I will not make any profit, just looking for assistance with the design of the game.  I would like to ensure that Slumberjack gets paid for any artwork contributed (his work is awesome and I think is a necessity.

Think of the glory of winning a game with Bitcoin dominating the world, game theory at it's finest!

Please reply with any interest and or volunteer interest with the design.  Thanks!
2  Economy / Collectibles / [INFO] Free Satoshi Skull decal! Greenpeace hit piece.. lol on: March 24, 2023, 02:32:12 PM
I wanted to share this, I am imagine most people have seen Greenpeace's hit piece on Bitcoin (paid for by Chris Larson).   I do NOT support this cause at all; however, I really like the art from Von Wong and from what I hear, he is rethinking his position on Bitcoin and it's impact to the environment.

In any case, long story short, you can get a free sticker.  I requested one, as I find it an interesting free collectible that will never see the light of day!  A win/win if a pro-Bitcoiner gets one of these:

Again, I do NOT support the code change, but do appreciate the art and feel this whole initiative will eventually be one of the best things for people to understand Bitcoin's cooperation with alternative energy.

3  Economy / Collectibles / [SOLD] Custom Poker Chip - Bitcoin Beats Fiat - Final Design on: March 14, 2023, 01:37:51 AM
I wanted to start a new thread.  This is a pre-sale with no payment required at this point; however, please be serious if you are ordering.

This is only for large quantities, 200 or more chips.  Price is 52 cents per chip payable in BTC after I receive the chips (plus shipping from my ZIP 85044 to yours).

Please DM me an order such as this:

Denomination   Quantity

The individual set of 12 will be available, after I get enough interest to lock in the price.  NO NEED TO RESPOND if you only want the set of 12.

Sorry for the multiple posts, but I am trying to do this without profit, hence why the back and forth.

Final proof is here:

If I cannot get the 2,000 chip order threshold, I will see still move forward.  I am going to likely make 2 sets of chips for myself (1 for sure, 1 if needed to hit the 2k threshold).   No deposit needed, I will only ask for BTC after I have the chips in my possession.

4  Economy / Collectibles / [INTEREST CHECK] - Custom Poker Chips, Bitcoin and dates... on: February 24, 2023, 12:38:07 AM
I had a crazy idea...  What if we designed a Bitcoin poker chip set with $ denominations and the Date Bitcoin hit that denomination?   I think it might be a cool idea to show the ever expanding value of Bitcoin and $ eventual demise.

I was wondering if anyone found a company willing to do custom chips for a decent price, I found one, but it's:

500pcs custom ceramic chips 39mm is USD295.00 including shipping to the USA by FedEx.

I thought maybe someone here would have a better idea, and I was wondering if we wanted to do a group buy (not sure if anyone else would be interested).

I thought one side the Bitcoin logo, each denomination a slightly different color, but consistent design in general.   The other side would have the values we decide, along with the date first achieved.

Let me know if anyone else might be interested, especially if we know of a better supplier.  Hopefully we can get the price down a bit if we do a few sets.

Oh, and the idea was to have this a set to play with, no wallet or sats assigned (I don't want to compete in that area).   Also, not looking to make a profit, but rather work with other members if there is an interest.
5  Other / Off-topic / Visiting Gainesville Georgia on: July 24, 2022, 09:06:13 PM

I am traveling through Atlanta this week to Gainesville.  I was curious if there were any fellow Bitcoiners that might enjoy a happy hour meeting.
6  Economy / Collectibles / Interesting new coin for sale on Etsy - 3d printed. on: May 27, 2022, 01:16:06 PM
I hope this is OK to post here.  I found this on Etsy and thought it was an interesting concept, a 3d printed coin:

I ordered 2 out of curiosity and wanted to share for others to see. I was wondering if anyone knew of the company.

7  Bitcoin / Legal / JPB Liberty Bitcoin Lawsuit against Facebook and Google on: March 24, 2022, 04:14:51 PM
I think I posted this in the wrong section originally, I was curious if anyone else here signed up for this class action lawsuit:

It's been a long process, but I hope there will be progress soon and an outcome.  I was curious if anyone else is part of it.  They also have a token (SUFB) that is listed on hive:

I am not advocating that as an investment (since I really know nothing about it); however, they did give tokens out to all people who signed up to be part of the lawsuit.

Again, just seeing if anyone else is part of this.
8  Economy / Collectibles / Sol Noctis - Large quantity on ebay, interesting opportunity? Under $40 each! on: March 21, 2022, 07:53:19 AM
Greetings!  This is not my item for sale, but I bought 2 of them and wanted to share with the group and had an idea.  First off, I found a listing from Germany for a large number of Sol Noctis redeemed coins, the Eagle and the Bull:

The price seems very reasonable compared to the other redeemed/peeled coins, and also from what I can tell on the thread, they seem like a likely untrustworthy coin from a confidence factor.

However, then an idea hit me...  Could we seize this opportunity to make it into a DIY coin?   Not sure if anyone else would be interested, but I would like to order some type of custom hologram (not trying to copy the original) to make it into a DIY coin.  I love the artwork of the original, and I was hoping someone on the forum would have an interest in creating a hologram for it.   I figured I could order some custom hologram stickers from Aliexpress or something, but figured I would share with the group and see if anyone had any ideas/thoughts.

In any case the seller add seems legitimate and I wanted to share.  If anyone wants to help with a hologram design, please post here, I am interested in ordering some for sure.  Again, I don't want to resale/pass it on as a real original, but rather as an improved DIY coin.

9  Economy / Collectibles / New Coin Series Coming Out - I have questions! on: February 25, 2022, 04:28:17 PM
Did anyone see this new series of Coin:

Low Satoshi content, but interesting.   However, I do have a question...  Their website instructions only reference the private key, which from my understanding won't be much help without the corresponding public key. Additionally, how would we verify the coins value?

I was curious if anyone had thoughts on this.   I welcome more collectible items, but am weary from what I read so far.
