81  Other / Beginners & Help / I need help getting GV-R928XOC-3GD REV 2 to hash properly :S on: May 14, 2014, 03:53:13 AM
I tried GV-R928XOC-3GD_F60_AGR_ORG and GV-R928XOC-3GD_F60 (stilt bios) and it doesn't seem to do much.

I'm using 12.8 PiMP 1.4.

This give 530khs~ 1 thread with these settings give 510khs~

"intensity" : "13",
"gpu-engine" : "1070",
"gpu-memclock" : "1500",
"worksize" : "256",
"thread-concurrency" : "8193",
"gpu-threads" : "2",
"gpu-fan" : "80",

"api-listen" : true,
"api-port" : "4028",
"api-allow" : "W:127.0.0.1",

"scrypt" : true,
"kernel-path" : "/usr/local/bin",
"kernel" : "ckolivas"

I can give a small tip if i can get all of them to mine properly at 2 threads, target reachable should be 740-760 with stilt's as that seller has proven (these are f60 bioses). :S

Is it possible they put bad thermal paste on it or something?

I had to put it on its own stand away from everything and its still much hotter than the other two. What gives?

These are 280x Gigabyte rev2
83  Other / Beginners & Help / Building my first dedicated rig, how to not blow up mobo with risers? on: May 01, 2014, 08:32:26 PM
I would like to understand how it works, learn from other's experience.

I got a H81 pro btc. I was told that if i use Ribbons riser, they all need to be on PSU 1, and then i can mix GPUs on PSU 1 and PSU 2. However if i have USB powered riser, i can do mobo + 3x gpu + risers on PSU 1 and 3x gpu + usb riser on PSU.

Is that accurate? Can i mix USB and non usb risers as long as ribbons riser are on same PSU as mobo? Etc?
84  Other / Beginners & Help / Enabled GPU while on IGP, now hashrate suffer and gpu doesnt report? on: April 18, 2014, 09:18:51 AM
More specifically, i am trying to use my integrated intel HD by plugging my monitor onboard, while mining with my 290 that has no monitor connected. (290 is detected in hardware but i cant seem to mine on it, for example GUI miner doesnt detect it).

Help would be much appreciated.
85  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Newegg sent me a TX750 V3 instead of V2 on: April 01, 2014, 02:36:56 AM
I bought

http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139021

a few months back, i just realized i did not receive a V2, i got a V3 (75-001309) made by HiPro/Chicony...

Why did Newegg not say anything and possibly sent me a inferior unit?

So anyways, i want to load it at 650-710w for mining, what are the odds that it will last, knowing there is pretty much no information whatsoever about this unit?
86  Other / Beginners & Help / How to disable windows steal focus when a miner get relaunched? on: March 30, 2014, 09:05:58 PM
As per title, when an application such as cgwatcher restart a miner, it steal focus and minimize my full screen application, pretty troublesome when you're in the middle of a firefight!

There was a way to lock foreground fullscreen application before, but i can't seem to find a fix for windows 7 64bit.

Thanks!
87  Other / Beginners & Help / Best way to get BTC to my Canadian Bank account? on: March 23, 2014, 04:53:59 AM
Look like Cavirtex has ridiculous fees, bitstamp apparently added more fees too..

I hold some fractions of a BTC and wish to know a good cheap, reliable and safe way to to take BTC from my virtual wallet into my irl leather wallet. I would prefer if it the process would not take more than several days everytime. (I've heard horror stories of it taking weeks or a month+)

Suggestions?
88  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Apparently GHash is having a promo, doubling LTC profitability for one week. on: March 13, 2014, 11:26:57 PM
I went to cex.io/r/0/Virosa/0/, registered, clicked the ltc tab, was easy to setup and i apparently already made a small fragment of a LTC.

I saw there was some flame about Ghash because they were going to get 51% of BTC miners. Are they trying to get monopoly on LTC by paying 200%?

So far it seem legit, you can easily withdraw LTC balance and the khash and payout seem to be instant/whenever requested.

Is this too good to be true?
89  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Is the Stilt's BIOSES still a thing to do? on: March 12, 2014, 09:59:34 PM
I'm asking cuz some people says he closed his thread and i've tried the links he has for 290s but they dont work. They flash okay and then it boot but as soon as amd drivers are loaded, i get BSOD.

For example i can boot in safe mode, but not regular mode.

I get SSID error if i try to flash in bios with -p i need to add -f. Report says flash successful 10000/10000, shouldnt it says 20000/20000?

What should i try? Find an app to properly clean amd drivers and try again or i missed something?
90  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Issues with my new tri-x r9 290 on: March 12, 2014, 05:00:32 PM
I get 900~ khs and 900~ wu for a solid 10 minutes (average) then i get a sharp decline (drop to 750 wu and khs always stays around 865khs), then it get slow decline by about 1 average WU per minute and then hash rate and then drivers crash, cgwatcher eventually restart the miner after that. For a while, i get alot of artefacts and black lines. Restarting or leave the gpu alone for a while clear that up. I dont get artefacts when i game at 1250 memclock nor 1300.

According to the logs, the process happens faster and faster until drivers insta crash like so :

[2014-03-12 12:02:32]        Total hashrate is below Scrypt cutoff 700 Kh/s (0 Kh/s); but am inside the miner's startup grace period (Elapsed:36 sec;GracePeriod:3 min) so did not attempt to restart yet, but I will if the condition exists after the grace period expires.

[2014-03-12 12:06:16]        The miner is closed outside of CGWatcher and you've requested for me to ensure it stays running. Attempting to start...

I find it odd that it says the process was closed outside CGWatcher. But whatever, there it is.

So since i have CGwatcher now restart my miner after hashing drop too much. (As you can see at 700, but on the previous logs, by the time the grace period is over, its already down to 500s khs.

So in a nutshell. First critical drop occured after 40 minutes, then after 20, then 10 (its honestly that clean), then 10, 10, 10, 10, 20 (it did go back up), then it goes bad, 3 (was at 690 khs and 3 is minimum grace period), then 3 again (khs was at 300), then insta crash and restart every 3 minutes for about half an hour, then i wake up and stop this madness.

Here's my dxdiag

http://pastebin.com/XM5HW22H

This is my config:

"api-allow" : "W:127.0.0.1",
"api-listen" : true,
"failover-only" : true,
"gpu-threads" : "1",
"gpu-memclock" : "1250",
"gpu-powertune" : "20",
"temp-target" : "85",
"temp-overheat" : "90",
"temp-cutoff" : "95",
"vectors" : "4", (that and -w together is the only way to get khs and wu to a reasonable amount)
"lookup-gap" : "2",
"thread-concurrency" : "25601"

And these are the only 2 .bat arguments used --xintensity 512 -w 128 (its the -w 128 that yield high khs + high WU/kh ratio).

I use SGminer 4.1.0

I already spent days trying different things and settings and next step is changing a setting and not touch the computer for an hour to see if its more stable but i'd like to be stopped right here if there is an obvious issue, as there are prolly weeks worth of combinations to try still.
